Genshin Impact, a free-to-play RPG from the Chinese game developer HoYoverse, regularly hosts Developers’ Discussions. These discussions aim to address player concerns and facilitate the exchange of ideas between the community and the developers to enhance the game. Here’s a rundown of the topics covered in the Developers’ Discussion after the Version 4.7 update in Genshin Impact. It has also been announced that the Version 4.7 Livestream will be held on the 24th of May, 2024.

Genshin Impact Version 4.7 Update Developers Discussion: Highlights

1. Increased Original Resin Cap

Original Resin is a crucial resource in Genshin Impact, used to claim rewards from various activities such as Ley Line Outcrops, Domains, and bosses. Previously, players had a maximum of 160 Original Resin, which regenerated at a rate of 1 Resin every 8 minutes.

However, after Version 4.7, HoYoverse will be increasing the cap to 200. With the constant expansion of the Teyvat map, this increased Resin cap will surely help players who play the game daily.

2. Increased Enhancement Materials and food cap

Developers have increased the inventory cap for Weapon Enhancement Materials from 9,999 to 99,999. The limits for Forging Ores, Character EXP Materials, and Artifact Enhancement Materials will also see an increase in the new Version. Additionally, the cap for Ingredients will rise from 2,000 to 9,999.

3. Increased Friend cap

Starting from Version 4.7 Update, players can add up to 100 friends at once.

Lastly, The Version 4.7 Update of the game introduces a Recommended Stats feature for the artifact custom configurations. This enhancement, accessible via the Fast Equip > Custom Configuration menu, aims to streamline the process of optimizing characters by automatically filling in recommended artifact sets and attributes.

The recommendations are based on data from active players, ensuring that your configurations are both effective and efficient. To read more about the Artifacts in Genshin Impact, refer to our guide here.

Final Thoughts

That concludes the Genshin Impact Version 4.7 Developers Discussion. This time, the developers are focusing on enhancing the gameplay experience. Genshin Impact Artifacts Guide: Important Tips

Check the Stats

In Genshin Impact, Flower and Plume artifacts are guaranteed to have HP and ATK as the main stat, respectively. But apart from that, the artifacts can range from a variety of buffs considering their rarity. With that, you can have a 3-star artifact with the main attribute being ATK% and another one that gives HP. Not that we have any prejudice against HP, but to be fair, your DPS will benefit a lot more from stats like ATK% and Elemental Mastery. Try to prioritize your artifacts with:

  • Sands: ATK % > Elemental Mastery > Elemental Recharge
  • Goblet: ATK % Elemental Bonus > Physical Bonus
  • Circlet: Critical Rate % > Critical Damage % > ATK %

But having good stats isn’t all, because you still need to upgrade them.

Upgrade your Artifacts in Genshin Impact

Once you have the right Set with an artifact that has your preferred stat as its main stat, is time to start improving them. To upgrade an artifact you will use other artifacts, and their level plays an important role in how much XP they will increase the bar. At each level, the main stat increases, at every 4 levels you get a bonus stat. If your artifact has reached the maximum stats possible, it will improve a random stat. Each artifact has limits based on its rarity as follows:

RarityMax LevelBase # of Sub Stats# of Unlocks# of Upgrades
14010
240~110
3121~22~30~1
4162~31~22~3
5203~40~14~5

Keep exploring, levelling, and looting

Of course, it is useful to have Great 3-Star artifacts set in Genshin Impact. But 5-star sets, as shown, have more stats and can be upgraded to higher levels. Once you have a good set, don’t take everything for granted and keep looking for more artifacts that suit your build in Genshin Impact. Each artifact has random stats and you should keep trying until you get the one you want with the stats you want. Here are some tables for consulting.

As Honkai: Star Rail players are slowly entering the later stages of the game, players are mostly focusing on making their characters stronger to survive the greater challenges that the games currently offer. Players are now investing their resources in the characters that they want to use. By maxing out their traces, levels, as well as their artifact. In this guide, we will be talking about how to Use and Obtain the Self-Modeling Resin in Honkai Star Rail.

What is Self-Modeling Resin

The Honkai Star Rail Self-Modeling Resin is a Rare material used in Relics to model itself according to what the players want. It can custom-make a relic based on the stats that the players want to get. This feature is basically a new introduction to the game and very good quality of life changes compared to other Gacha games like its sister game, Genshin Impact.

The artifact RNG has been a huge problem in Genshin Impact for a very long time now and players demanded this kind of feature in the game. Thankfully, this feature was introduced to the new game, Honkai Star Rail during its release.

How to get Self-Modeling Resin in Honkai Star Rail

The Self-Modeling Resin can be obtained through the Nameless Honor. By reaching Nameless Honor Level 40, you can acquire this rare material and consume it for good use. Despite it being a very good feature in the game, it is very hard to obtain as there are no other sources that players can get this item.

It would also be a great feature if this item can be exchanged through the store’s Currency, the Starlight, and Embers Exchange. Some players are hoping that this rare material can be obtained through limited version events in the future.

How to Use Self-Modeling Resin

Self-Modeling Resin can be used to change the main stat of a 5-star Relic before crafting it through the Omni-Synthesizer. Keep in mind that the main stat for the Head and Hands can not be changed as it is fixed on the HP and ATK stat.

Players can’t also change the main stat of the Relic that they already have or upgraded. The Relics tab can be unlocked in the Omni-Synthesizer once players reach Trailblaze level 40. After unlocking the Relics tab, players can now custom-make a relic by choosing what Relic type, and simply clicking Customized Synthesis.

In Honkai Star Rail, DoT can be applied when a character procs weakness breaks on an enemy and breaks their shield. Some characters can also apply DoT without destroying the weakness of the enemy, but only a selected type of character can do this.

In essence, DoT refers to a type of damage that is inflicted on a target over a certain duration of time rather than instantly. It introduces a layer of complexity and tactical decision-making, as players must consider the timing and duration of their abilities or effects to maximize the damage inflicted on their foes.

Effectively utilizing DoT in Honkai: Star Rail requires a deep understanding of various factors, such as the duration of the damaging effect, the strength of the DoT ability, and the target’s vulnerabilities. Additionally, players must carefully assess the overall team composition and skill synergies to optimize the impact of DoT in battles.

Elements that can apply DoT

  • Shock – Lighting elements.
  • Wind Shear – Wind elements.
  • Burn – Fire elements.
  • Bleed – Physical elements.
  • Freeze – Ice elements.
  • Entanglement – Quantum elements.

It is important to keep in mind that not all characters with these elements can consistently apply DoT, only a select few can apply the DoT from their element with ease. Some characters are specifically made for the DoT playstyle from their specific element, one example is the 4-star Wind-element character Sampo, he can increase the duration of Wind Shear and can also increase the damage of his DoT. More characters that are specifically played for the DoT compositions are expected to come into the game in future versions.

Characters that can consistently Apply DoT in Honkai Star Rail

Sampo

Sampo is a 4-star Nihility Path character that has the Wind-type element. He is a character who excels in sustained damage, gradually increasing his damage output by inflicting Wind Shear on his opponents. This makes him highly valuable in prolonged battles. Through his ultimate ability and skills, Sampo can effortlessly apply Wind Shear damage over time (DoT) effects. Moreover, by upgrading his traces and unlocking his Ascension, he can enhance the potency of his DoT, further amplifying his damage potential.

Hook

Hook is a 4-star Destruction Path character that has the Fire-type Element. She is also another valuable character in terms of DoT compositions. Hook can apply Burn to his targets and can do this as AoE for multiple enemies. Additionally, when Hook applies the Burn DoT to enemies, her damage increases to enemies affected by it. She can also increase her overall Burn DoT damage.

Serval

Serval is a 4-star Erudition Path character under the Lightning-type Element. Serval can easily apply Shock DoT to enemies that deal a decent amount of damage over time. She is also an amazing AoE damage dealer and shield breaker. She is one of the valuable characters that f2p players use as she can be obtained freely by doing the Main Quest. Serval is a solid Shock DoT applier and can utilize this DMG pretty well.

There is no current character that can apply other DoT from the elements that were not mentioned. Further versions are expected to release newer characters that also feature the DoT type of playstyle. Playing a DoT composition can be fun, players will see the enemies slowly losing HP from their DoT application and win the battle easily with these attacks and debuffs. We will update this list when future characters are released that are made specifically for the DoT playstyle.

By incorporating DoT into their strategies, players can employ a range of tactics, including wearing down opponents over time, exploiting vulnerabilities, and setting up powerful combos or chain reactions with other abilities or effects. It adds an exciting layer of depth to the combat system, enticing players to explore different playstyles and experiment with diverse team compositions.

This exchange of knowledge not only facilitates the growth of players but also features a good exchange of ideas between the community.

Final Thoughts

In summary, Honkai: Star Rail’s inclusion of the DoT mechanic adds a compelling dimension to its combat system. While newer players may initially find themselves intrigued by the frequent usage of the abbreviation “DoT” within the game’s community, embracing its significance and learning to harness its power opens up a world of exciting strategic possibilities.

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 4 Best Characters

To take advantage of the World 4 shield weaknesses, players must bring Fire. Wind, and Lightning-type characters. They can easily change the pace of the fight as they can take advantage of the Weakness break against most opponents in World 4.

Dan Heng

Dan Heng is a Wind-type Element user along with The Hunt Path. He is an amazing DPS with decent single-target damage. Svarog and his robot summons are weak to the Wind-Element. He is very useful when breaking the shield of the opponents and The Hunt path can be very beneficial for him.

Serval

Serval is a Lightning-type Element user along with the Erudition Path. She is a very effective shield breaker against enemies vulnerable to Lightning. In World 4, most enemies will be vulnerable to the Lightning element and she will be a very useful character in this World.

Fire Trailblazer

The Fire Trailblazer is a Fire-type Element user along with the Preservation Path. The Trailblazer provides decent shielding to your team along with a good weakness break from the Trailblazer’s ultimate. Svarog is also vulnerable to Fire damage and the shield that the Trailblazer provides will be very useful in the battle.

Asta

Asta is a Fire-type Element user along with the Harmony Path. She is a strong buffer for the team and can break a decent amount of shield from Svarog thanks to her strong skill. Her Ultimate can help the team take advantage of the fight from the SPD buff she provides.

Sampo

Sampo can function similarly to Dan Heng. He is an effective breaker in this World because of his wind element. He can also deal decent damage with his DoT if players opt to take the Nihility Path.

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 4 Best Path

When choosing a Path to take in the Simulated Universe, make sure to maximize the chosen Path and unlock its exclusive Path Resonance. This will greatly increase the efficiency of your team when fighting your opponents in the later stages of the World.

The Hunt

The Hunt is a strong choice for World 4, because of the massive damage-dealing buffs it provides for your overall team. The Hunt also gives a strong damage-dealing ability when you unlock its Path Resonance. This ability can easily destroy the Robot Arms of Svarog in the Final Phase.

The Nihility

The Nihility is also a strong choice for World 4. It gives a really good weakness break buff along with some serious DoT damage. This path can maximize the damage from Wind Shear and Burn which Svarog is weaker against.

How to beat World 4 Boss: Svarog in Honkai Star Rail

Like most boss fights, Svarog will also have several phases in which he will have different types of allies and attacks. Players need to be careful and know the best things to do in all phases in order to smoothly defeat the World 4 Boss.

Honkai Star Rail World 4
Image via HoYoverse

Phase 1

In the First Phase, Svarog will summon 4 small robots that will battle alongside him. You can ignore these robots if you have an AoE attack that can break the shields of these when attacking Svarog directly. Build up your Path Resonance and use it to quickly get rid of the small robots.

Phase 2

In the Second Phase, Svarog will summon 2 bigger robots that can deal big damage to your team. These robots can inflict bleed so it is highly recommended to keep your character’s HP at maximum. Build up Path Resonance and then utilize it to do tremendous AoE damage. Try to pace yourself as you approach the halfway point of Svarog’s HP and gather Path Resonance energy and your Ultimates in preparation for the last phase.

Final Phase

In the Final Phase, you need to defeat Svarog as fast as you can. This is because he will summon the Robotic Arms that will imprison your characters if given the turn. If some of your characters are caught by the Robotic Arms, quickly focus on destroying them by using your strong abilities or the Path Resonance.

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 6 Best Path

In order to enhance the effectiveness of your party during World 6 battle, it is crucial to optimize your choice of Path and activate its unique Resonance within the Simulated Universe Blessing. Utilizing your path choices will be crucial to beat the Simulated Universe World 6. Therefore, it is important to carefully consider your path and make the most of its potential.

Honkai Star Rail Path

The Hunt

This Path is a risky choice but very effective for World 6. Make sure to obtain the two Path Resonance and choose the Resonance Formation: Bow and Arrow and the Resonance Formation: Perfect Aim. This will greatly help you to deal with the Ice lances that Cocolia will summon.

The Abundance

Additionally, Abundance provides significant damage through the Dewdrop mechanic. This feature charges based on specific blessings and delivers damage when you attack.

How to Beat World 6 Boss: Cocolia in Honkai Star Rail

Phase 1

During this phase, Cocolia will randomly summon the Ice lances that will deal continuous damage to all your party members within different turns, make sure to use the Path Resonance to take care of these lances and prevent it from dealing damage to your party and slowing them.

Phase 2

In the second phase, Cocolia will summon her daughter Bronya to help her in battle. Bronya can easily change the pace of the fight because she can easily make the turn of the World 6 Boss advanced. To avoid this, make sure to focus on Bronya and defeat her as fast as you can. Cocolia will still summon the Ice lances so make sure to time your Path resonance and burst it right away just as Cocolia has summoned it.

Final Phase

The Final Phase will be the most challenging, it is a challenge for your party’s strength and damage capabilities. Some of Cocolia’s attacks can wipe out your party if not taken care of immediately. solely focusing on implying weakness break on her can give your party a chance to slowly kill the World 6 Boss. Similar to the past strategy, use the Path Resonance whenever Cocolia starts to summon the Ice lances. If all of these are timed correctly, players can defeat the Simulated Universe World 6.

Honkai Star Rail Path

The Abundance

The safest and optimal choice for the Path in World 5 is The Abundance. Players must stack up as much Path Resonance as they can get from the Abundance path to unlock its very beneficial Buffs. Players must reach the Abundance Resonance exclusive buff and choose the Resonance Formation: Annica.

The Nihility

The Nihility is a very niche choice of Path but if used correctly, players can have a strong chance to beat the World 5 Boss. It mostly focuses on buffing Sampo as the weakness breaker as well as the main damage dealer with his strong DoTs. How to Beat World 5 Boss: Kafka in Honkai Star Rail

Similar to the last Worlds in Simulated Universe, the World 5 Boss also has 3 Phases. Kafka is a very agile and strong boss in World 5. Players must get rid of these soldiers first for them to be able to focus directly on the World 5 Boss. Kafka will deal moderate damage in this space so be careful about the HP of your character and maintain it as healthy as possible.

Phase 2

After getting rid of the soldiers and beating Kafka in the First Phase, players should focus on surviving the deadly blows that Kafka will deal during this phase, she will also start putting debuffs and marks on some of your characters. These marks will stun your characters. Stunned characters will attack their fellow party members. To avoid this, players should time the Abundance Path Resonance correctly when marks are put in their characters.

Final Phase

When reaching the Final Phase, Kafka will start putting multiple marks on your characters which can potentially be deadly for your party. If not timed correctly, one activation of her Stun attack can make players lose the whole fight. The Abundance Resonance timing is very important during this phase.

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe World 8 Best Path

To boost your team’s performance against the Final Boss in Simulated Universe World 8, it’s vital to choose and unlock the unique Path Resonance in the Simulated Universe Blessing. Strategically selecting paths along the way will significantly improve your team’s capabilities and elevate your odds of success in this demanding battle.

Honkai Star Rail Simulated Universe Path

The Hunt

Opting for the Hunt Path proves to be an excellent strategy in tackling Simulated Universe World 8. When the boss summons blades, seize the opportunity to make the most of Path Resonance mechanics, especially with well-timed actions.

The Hunt Path generously grants substantial CRIT buffs to your team, significantly boosting their critical hit rate and overall damage output. These buffs synergize seamlessly with characters specialized in critical hits, making it easier to burst down Yanqing.

The Abundance

Choosing the Abundance Path for Simulated Universe World 8 is a smart decision, bringing valuable advantages. Accumulating Path Resonance from this path unlocks beneficial buffs, with the ultimate goal being the Abundance Resonance exclusive buff. This buff provides a range of advantages that significantly strengthen your team, including the Resonance Formation: Annica.

This formation is essential for countering the boss’s crowd control effects, allowing you to cleanse yourself and your team, removing any harmful crowd control effects that could impede your performance in battle.

Other Path choices

Remember that players can explore other Path Resonance options tailored to their preferred team composition and playstyle. Gepard players can maximize the Preservation Path, effective against the World 8 boss. Those relying on Clara and Jing Yuan for massive AoE follow-up damage may find the Elation Path to be a valuable choice.

The newly added Propagation Path is also extremely useful for players who want to maximize the massive burst damage of Imbibitor Lunae and Qingque. Consider your team dynamics and preferred playstyle when selecting the most suitable Path Resonance for success against the World 8 boss.

How to Beat World 8 Boss: Cloud Knight Lieutenant: Yanqing in Honkai: Star Rail

Simulated Universe World 8 follows the pattern of earlier worlds. You’ll be up against the three-phase boss, Cloud Knight Lieutenant: Yanqing, who packs a punch with impressive damage and strength. Watch out for the boss’s powerful burst ability as it can wreck your team if not handled strategically on specific turns.

To tackle these hurdles, time your Path Resonance and ultimate attacks wisely. This ensures you steer clear of tricky situations and secure a triumphant outcome in the battle.

Honkai Star Rail World 8
Image via HoYoverse

Phase 1

Facing Cloud Knight Lieutenant: Yanqing, be mindful of the boss’s potent single-target damage in this stage, capable of significantly reducing your team’s health. To tackle this challenge effectively, prioritize targeting the boss and swiftly progress to the next phase while its resistance is still relatively low, providing a crucial window to inflict substantial damage before its defenses strengthen.

Phase 2

As you enter the Second Phase, the boss gains agility, swiftly summoning blades and eliminating its elemental weaknesses. During this phase, focus on dealing with the blades to bring back the boss’s weakness. Breaking this weakness is vital to reducing the boss’s turn to summon blades again, preventing potential harm to your entire team.

Final Phase

Approaching the last phase of the battle, exercise caution and prepare for the boss’s formidable capabilities. Timely attention to the blades the boss summons is crucial. If not addressed promptly or if the boss remains undefeated, it can unleash a massive area-of-effect (AoE) attack, causing severe damage to your entire party. Prioritize dealing with this threat while maximizing your attacks to secure victory.

Honkai: Star Rail Simulated Universe World 8 Planar Ornaments

In World 8, you’ll find two new Planar Ornaments. Glamoth boosts damage for speedy characters, and Penacony, Land of the Dreams, supports a team with characters of the same element type.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, navigating Simulated Universe World 8 demands a strategic approach. Facing Cloud Knight Lieutenant: Yanqing, it’s crucial to manage phases effectively, prioritizing damage output and countering the boss’s powerful abilities. Choose your team composition wisely, leverage Path Resonance, and explore new Planar Ornaments to enhance your strengths.
