Tower Troops have now arrived with the December 2023 update of Clash Royale. The Clash Royale 2024 roadmap had previously discussed this new card type coming to the game, but we already have one card available now with the Tower Princess. So, let us learn about this new gameplay change, and the possibilities to explore with this Clash Royale Tower Troops Guide.
Clash Royale Tower Troops Guide: Overview
Introduction
Tower Troops are like a fresh addition to Clash Royale. You’ll find them in the Cards tab, right where your Card Collection hangs out. These troops are special because they’re all about defense, stationed on top of your Crown Towers.
The interesting part? Your opponent won’t have a clue about these Tower Troops until the Battle officially begins. Along with this change, the Princess Towers are now renamed Crown Towers.
Abilities
Every Tower Troop brings its distinct ability, adding a unique flavor to your Clash Royale strategy. Just like your regular cards, Tower Troop comes with rarities and can be sorted according to it. Outside your regular battle, Tower Troops claim a dedicated card slot in your Battle Deck since they are a mandatory part of your Battle Deck. which can be swapped with other cards as soon as they are launched.
Collecting and Upgrading
Tower Troops can undergo upgrades using a combination of Cards and Gold. Tower Troop cards are specifically obtainable from Tower Troop Chests. While Wild Cards and Magic Books don’t apply to Tower Troop upgrades, Magic Coins can be utilized to offset the gold upgrade expenses.
Tower Troops follow a straightforward leveling rule as they can’t surpass the level of your King Tower. Unlike cards that can be over-leveled, if your King Tower is at Level 12, your Tower Troops can’t go beyond Level 12. Let me explain in simpler terms, no Level 13 Tower Troops if your King Tower is at Level 12.
List of Tower Troops in Clash Royale
Currently, we only have one Tower Troop in Clash Royale, but a new card will be arriving with the January 2024 update.
1. Tower Princess
- Rarity: Common
- Targets: Air and Ground
Arrived as the first Tower Troop in the game, Tower Princess has now detached herself from her favorite place and will serve as a card that can be replaced by other troops. She is a Common rarity card in the game and will come with a range of 7.5 tiles with a Hit Speed of 0.8 seconds.
2. The Cannoneer
- Rarity: Epic
- Targets: Air and Ground
Our latest Tower Troop is The Cannoneer, which also becomes the first among your ‘new’ set of cards launching in 2024 and also the second overall. This is an epic card that arrived with the January 2024 update or Season 55. Cannoneer launches Cannon balls straight at the enemy dealing high damage to them.
3. Dagger Dutchess
- Rarity: Legendary
- Targets: Air and Ground
Introduced in the April 2024 update for Clash Royale’s Season 58, Dagger Dutchess was the second Tower Troop introduced in the year 2024 and the third overall. She’s a single-target tower troop boasting high hitpoints. Initially unleashing a flurry of dagger throws for significant damage, her attack slows as she depletes her supply and reloads.
