The Esports World Cup (EWC) will host its maiden event this year, 2024. Announced last October, the event will feature all the leading esports titles regardless of their platform under the same roof.
The event was previously known as Gamers8. The latest edition started in July and ran till September 2023. Several popular mobile and PC esports titles were featured in the event with an enormous amount of $45 million total prize pool. In its eight-week-long journey, the event also arranged music and gaming festivals where famous musicians performed live.
List of all the events in the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024
The Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024 will feature a few titles from PC and Mobile platforms. Not all the titles are revealed yet. However, we will witness plenty of mobile esports titles making it to the grand stage. The event will be eight weeks long and in the summer of 2024, the city of Riyadh will unveil the event.
1. Honor of Kings
Honor of Kings will be featured in this event at Riyadh. As per the latest roadmap for 2024, the title will have four global events this year. One of them is the Mid-season Invitational Season 3 which will take place at the EWC 2024. A total of 12 teams will fight for the whopping $3 million prize pool. We only know that China will send a super team named the King Pro League (KPL) Dream Team. Apart from the event, the title will also launch EWC-themed skins for the players.

2. Mobile Legends Bang Bang
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) will host its first event outside the Southeast Asian scene. This hyped the fans already and the heat is boiling the excitement to push it more.
MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2024 is replacing the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup and will be the second-highest event of MLBB esports in 2024. All the regional leagues will send teams to the grand event in Riyadh in August.

3. StarCraft II
Blizzard Entertainment’s hit title StarCraft II will also be featured in the event. This real-time strategy game will take 18 teams for the event at EWC 2024. Matches will be played in a 1v1 format with the “Legacy of the Void” game version.

4. Dota 2
Any esports event where all the popular and leading titles will meet each other cannot imagine a stage without Dota 2. This MOBA will be one of the few PC titles to be featured in the EWC 2024.
The qualification will be a part of the Riyadh Masters Series where eight teams will be from the EPT table. Every team participating in an ESL One or DreamLeague event will receive EPT Points based on their placement in the event. Later, the rest 12 teams will be from regional qualifiers.

5. Counter-Strike 2
The developed version of the most popular FPS title CS: GO is going to share the same roof with other hit titles. Not many details are currently available for now but we will let you know when the event releases new details.

6. Free Fire
Garena‘s popular battle royale Free Fire is going to make it to the event in July 2024. 18 teams from five local Free Fire tournaments as well as ESL’s Free Fire Snapdragon Pro Series will be battling for victory in the Esports World Cup. As per the esports roadmap of Free Fire for 2024, the first phase of regional leagues will be over by June 2024. So, top teams from the leagues will join the EWC 2024, and the best performers in that event will get slots in the FFWS Global Finals.

7. PUBG Mobile
The Esports World Cup will become incomplete without the most popular battle royale in Mobile. Besides, the craze of this title and its esports arena is unreal. According to the 2024 esports roadmap, there will be three global events which are the PMGO in Brazil, the PMGC in the UK, and we’re only left with the PMWI Mid-Season. Thus, the Mid Season will be featured in the EWC 2024.

8. Rainbow Six Siege
Rainbow Six Siege joins the EWC 2024 as the eighth title. Apart from the announcement, nothing much has been revealed from any of the organizers or even the title. However, the game was presented at Gamers8 in 2023 where it featured a $2M prize pool and 8 teams. This time, there is a higher chance that a few teams will receive direct invitations from the recently concluded Six Invitational in Brazil.

9. Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2, One of the most popular shooting titles from Activision Blizzard also joins in the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024. It is still unclear whether the title will have an exclusive event for Riyadh or will carry with the current Overwatch Champions Series circuit. The detailed information will soon follow through.

10. PUBG
Popular battle royale PUBG joined the league as well. The mobile adaptation of this game is already in the event and now the predecessor joined the same. The game’s qualifier event for the Esports World Cup will start after the end of PUBG Global Series 2024 Phase 4.

11. EA Sports FC 24
EA Sports FC 24 will surprise everyone at the grand event as the title is most likely to showcase a few big-name footballers. The recent FC Pro Open events witnessed a huge success thus hinting at a blast at the event ahead. Qualification for the title in EWC 2024 will be done through Dreamhack as well as by invitation.

12. Tekken 8
Well, we have a few more titles that will join the biggest esports event on the planet. Tekken 8, the latest entry to the popular Tekken franchise, is on the list to be a part of it. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the title will be the second in this genre to join the event.

13. League of Legends
Riot Games is not far behind and all the major companies will join the event with their flagship titles. Two of their titles will make their entries into the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024. League of Legends, though, will not consider the EWC 2024 as an official LoL Esports event. However, the company will use the experience to build up the ideal player experience in MENA (Middle East and North Africa).

14. Teamfight Tactics
Teamfight Tactics is going to be Riot’s second title in the event. Though the format or the qualification system is not revealed yet, the inclusion of this game will also work as a gate of new opportunities in the MENA region, just like the previous title. However, matches will be held in Solos game mode.

15. Fortnite
Epic Games has said that their popular title Fortnite will be featured at the grand stage. The event for this game will be a separate stage from Epic organized tournaments. But they are planning to introduce a new competitive UEFN island for the event. As the The Fortnite Championship Series is taking place at several regions around the world, there isn’t much shared on the EWC 2024.

16. Rocket League
Epic’s action racing title Rocket League will be one of the key events in the Esports World Cup 2024. The share of the prize pool for this title isn’t announced yet along with the formats as well. However, BLAST is working closely to feature it as one of the interactive events that fans may like the most.

17. Street Fighter 6
Capcom’s popular fighting game Street Fighter 6 is the second of the kind in this event. This was the first featured title in this genre at last year’s Gamers8. Following the same path, the game is making it to the bigger stage again. Very little information is available so far regarding the size and prize pool.

18. RENNSPORT

Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024 is under the authority of the Esports World Cup Foundation which the Saudi Government backs. The plan to make Saudi Arabia a global hub for esports and gaming plants is rooted in these initiatives of the government. With the first event coming in August, the world will watch together, irrespective of platforms, where the new era takes us.
