Garena has announced the Free Fire esports roadmap for 2024. This year, the fans will see a revamped esports system where the biggest surprise is directing the local leagues to carry the FFWS branding. Besides, a new regional league for the Southeast Asia region and a mid-season global event will also debut in July 2024.
Southeast Asia is the latest FFWS regional league for Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam
The latest addition to the FFWS series is the Southeast Asia (SEA) region. FFWS Southeast Asia (SEA) 2024 will feature the best pro teams to grant them a bigger stage where they can rise as the new powerhouses. This league will include Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Just like the other regional events, this SEA league will host two events in a year namely FFWS SEA Spring and FFWS SEA Fall. Spring season will kick off on the 22nd of March 2024 and will end on the 26th of May. Regional events will take place for six weeks. The grand finals will be held from the 24th of May to the 26th.
A total of 18 teams will fight in the event, among which 5 teams each will be from Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and 3 from Malaysia. Whether all the teams will be directly invited or they’ll have to come through qualifier events is not decided yet.
But from previous experiences, we can say that a few teams may get direct invitation slots while the rest of the teams will have to participate in qualifier events in their respective country finals. The next exciting thing is the prize pool of these events.
Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals 2024 is the year finale event, a mid-year global tournament in July
Garena never fails to give surprises. They announced a mid-year global tournament in 2024 which will take place in July. The mid-year global tournament will feature 18 teams, including the best teams from FFWS SEA Spring, the first splits of FFWS Brazil and FFWS LATAM, and representatives from MEA and Pakistan. The champion will directly qualify for the grand stage of Free Fire esports, the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals 2024. It will be an offline event culminating in the best teams from each regional league finals.
18 teams from FFWS SEA Fall, FFWS Brazil, and FFWS LATAM, together with the Free Fire champion from the mid-year global tournament will fight in the grand event in November. With everything the Free Fire esports has to offer in 2024, the year is going to take your attention away!
