Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports has entered the second half of its competitive year 2023. The professional leagues for each country are also marking their presence. Thus, Mobile Legends has brought another exciting event, the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL-MY) of Malaysia, popularly known as Season 12, for MLBB fans in Malaysia. The event will kick off on the 18th of August 2023, and the run will continue for the next eight weeks ending on the 8th of October. The champion team will get a direct slot in the M5 World Championship while the runner-up will be sent to the wildcard stage. Organized by Moonton Games and IO Esports, the event will be held offline at Dewan Sri Putra Stadium in Malaysia.
Mobile Legends MPL-MY Season 12: Schedule and Format
Mobile Legends MPL-MY Season 12 will be held in two stages namely the regular season and the playoffs. The regular season will begin on the 18th of August and will run till the 4th of September. The BO3 matches will follow a single round-robin format, where teams will be awarded points based on the scoreline of the matches. Then, the top 8 teams will advance to the next stage, the playoffs. The top 2 teams will head to the Upper Bracket Semifinals followed by the next two which will advance to the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals. Teams from the 5th to the 8th position will have to enter the play-ins.
The playoffs will be a hybrid elimination stage where all the matches (except lower and upper bracket finals and the grand finals) will be B03. The upper and lower bracket finals will follow a BO5 format while the Grand Final will be a B07. This phase will start on the 5th of October and will end on the 8th.
Participating teams
A total of 10 teams will be fighting for the champion trophy in MPL Malaysia Season 12. Eight of the teams are directly qualified from the season 11 and the rest two are from the qualifier stage. The list of the teams is as follows.

MPL-MY Season 12: Prize pool
The previous edition of MPL Malaysia featured a total of $100,000 as the prize pool. However, the prize pool for Season 12 is still unknown. Keep following this article to know the exact amount of the prize pool as we’ll update it in the earliest.
MPL Malaysia Season 12 has two slots to offer for the Malaysian teams for the upcoming M5 World Championship, the biggest event of MLBB Esports. Thus, the teams will give them all to grab a direct slot in the World Championship and another to the wildcard stage. All the matches will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel of MLBB Esports.
