The anniversary is a great milestone for any company. How do you feel and the overall atmosphere of the team?
Thank you! We are delighted with everything happening around MLB 9 Innings 23 right now, from our community (which is bigger than ever) to our development team (which is operating at its highest level) to our fantastic relationships with our partners at Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association. This year has been the best yet, thanks to our fans and the developers, and we couldn’t be happier with the continued positive trajectory of the MLB 9 Innings franchise.
Personally, I’ve been a fan of Com2uS baseball games, especially MLB 9 Innings for a while, and the 23 season has been excellent in getting the best gameplay experience. Can you share the process you took in improving MLB 9 Inning 23 compared to other baseball games?
The key is the relationship between the community and the development team because we strive to deliver what fans want every day. It’s great to hear you say that you’re a fan because that means you know all of the fun things that have been happening this season – from all-new Legend players to even more ways for fans to play competitively to new team-building strategies that continue to offer a compelling experience no matter how you play MLB 9 Innings.
We are constantly listening to what our fans want to see in the game, and we strive to make that happen as often as possible. We feel like our connection to our fans is stronger than ever, and that’s why MLB 9 Innings continues to be the top mobile baseball game in the world.
How important was it to take note of development feedback in terms of early-stage development?
It was hugely important! Ultimately, the fans dictate whether a game will be successful. There has to be the right amount of content, a really fun gameplay experience, an active community, and a consistent roadmap of upcoming activities and events to keep people excited and interested in what you’re doing.
In the exceptionally competitive world of mobile gaming, it’s absolutely critical to understand, process, and deliver based on feedback from the community and the fans. It’s not easy – if it were, everyone would be doing it – but when you really get those feedback processes nailed down, the results are extraordinary.
Can you share any light/fun moments where the team shared a laugh during the time of development? Can be while encountering a bug or a silly gameplay test.
The most fun moments we have are when we are able to experience MLB action in person. Every year, members of our team get to go from Korea to the United States for the All-Star Game, and we really cherish those opportunities.
Not only does it strengthen our relationship with the league and the players, but our internationally-based employees get to come together for a few days and get to know each other better. That always leads to a lot of laughs, great ideas, and fun experiences. It’s not easy to build a game with a dispersed global team, so being together is a really terrific thing when it happens.
Any plans for your anniversary? If yes, would you mind giving us a glimpse, if not a treat?
Yes! We have a really great event happening where longtime players can share their best cards with newcomers and others who may not have them – so they can experience what it’s like to have some of the best versions of players in the game. That’s just one of many fun events and content programs we will have going on – and stay tuned for even more!
What is your message to the fans and players of the game?
In a word, thank you! We are extremely grateful to our fans and players because they are the reason that we get to keep making MLB 9 Innings every year. We do not take their loyalty and dedication for granted – we know that they can spend their time doing almost anything, so we really appreciate how much our fans and players love our game and we are dedicated to making their experience a delight every day.
