The six-week Soul Fighter event, which will see in-game content added to “League of Legends,” “Teamfight Tactics,” “League of Legends: Wild Rift,” and “Legends of Runeterra,” was just announced by game creator and publisher Riot Games. Riot Games’ tribute to the fighting game genre, Soul Fighter, will feature brand new game modes, skins, gameplay features, and more across all four Riot Games Runeterra titles, drawing inspiration from the deep emotional resonance and unique character moments from fighting games and anime tournament arcs. The Soul Fighter event begins on Thursday, July 20 and runs through Monday, August 28 globally.

Players are immersed in a vibrant and varied environment where competitors engage in combat to prove themselves on the “Tournament of Souls,” the grandest stage in the alternate reality in which Soul Fighter is set. In some pretty major news that would be of importance to all the players of Riot Games’ titles and cyber security geeks out there, Riot Games, officially announced a cyber attack had taken place, compromising their systems on the 21st of January, 2023. They have now reported upon the content that was compromised.

Riot Games confirms the safety of players’ personal information from the cyber attack

In an official Twitter thread, Riot Games confirmed that they were exfiltrated during the cyber attack, with the source code of League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics, along with legacy anti-cheat being stolen, and that they’ve received ransom emails from hackers, which they don’t intend on paying.

Also, while source code, containing previously unreleased experimental and prototypic features, modes, and other info was leaked, not all of it would be making it to the game even if news of it all, containing the details of the content gets out. Riot Games further added that no personal information of the players was found to be compromised in their analysis of the attack.

Such cyber attacks aren’t all too uncommon and we’ve seen some other pretty big organizations fall prey to them in the past, as was with the case of Axie Infinity, where $625 Million was stolen, and then DDoS attacks on Among Us servers and those of an entire country during a Minecraft Event. Such attacks present pretty significant threats as we’ve seen with the Axie Infinity Heist and then also in cases where the privacy of player data is breached, presenting several major risks to the players themselves.

Riot Games definitely managed to avoid those possibilities and they’re now working with law officials to trace down the people who might be responsible. They’re also working on strengthening their systems and we should expect a detailed report soon.

With one month left to finish the current set in Teamfight Tactics (TFT), Riot Games revealed what awaits for the players in December. Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Dev Drop November 2022 video revealed important details about new set and 2023 Roadmap, and much more. Let’s take a look at all the details and the new set.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Monsters Attack Set

An unlikely band of heroes fighting gigantic threats and creatures that have been awakened. All of this taking place in the city of Spatulopolis, a city brimming with heroes, threats, and destruction. Arriving in Patch 12.23 the next set will bring more heroic traits than ever. We will have the presence of familiar compositions like Mech and Star Guardian.

Evergreen Mechanics in Augments

From now on Augments will be evergreen mechanics. After observing on the Dragon lands set, it was decided to keep the augments to please the audience. The audiences liked this mechanic so much, making it possible now to always have a more creative way of creating more varied compositions.

There will also be changes in augments from set to set which makes the experience even more interesting. In this next set to make it even more heroic, it was decided to introduce Hero Augments, an entirely new roster of Augments.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Dev Drop November 2022 video

Some augments will be specific to a single unit making it a hero unit for SuperHero or Supervillain. An example of this new mode would be Alistar with his hero augment. He turns his single target knock-up, Pulverize into an AOE that gives him a lot of HP. His other hero augments, Beef Up gives his Pulverize the max health scaling ability. All units will have two Hero Augments specific to them so you can form a bunch of different compositions.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT): New Traits

In this new set it was decided to remove the characters that occupy two slots it was said by the Dev “You CAN spell team without Dragon or Colossus” said that some new Traits were introduced:

1. Threat

Rammus makes his first appearance in TFT in the “Threat” Trait is one of the strongest units of this trait, and if we analyze the Threat Trait it’s not a Trait itself because it doesn’t generate any bonus if you have all threats units on the field, but to compensate these units are much more powerful than the other units

2. Anima Squad

The Anima Squad already comes with something a little more different than what it used to. When eliminating a unit the Anima Squad units will stop for a few seconds and perform a pose to gain stacks of fame, each point of fame will provide the ability power and attack damage and it only increases each time we place more Anima Squad units on the field.

3. The Underground

The underground can be a little more complicated to deal with but it can pay off towards the end of the game, they have a feature called “Heist” when you complete a fight against players you complete a heist generating 1 point for a win and 2 for a defeat, always once you get 7 points you will be offered some heist rewards, so you can choose between taking this reward or saving it for it to be improved next time.

Rewards

Players can get rewards like this in the Heist:

  • The Steadyfast Ox Force: The Ox Force is led by our favorite sad boy Aphelios who has a custom Trait that lets you change your weapon to change your abilities.

  • A.D.M.I.N: Another Trait that will also be customizable like Aphelios is the A.D.M.I.N. Players can customize the effects of the Trait itself, with the A.D.M.I.N. you can choose a cause and you will be able to pair that cause with an effect. In total, we will have 7 Causes and 7 Effects to put them together and form a very powerful Trait.

  • Star Guardian: Finally, we will have the return of the Star Guardians that will work well with mana, but instead of distributing between the units, the Star Guardians will generate more mana as you breakpoint the Trait, this will end up generating more and more frequent explosions of spells.

In the new set, we will have the presence of the Chibis from Ahri and Lux in their normal form and with their Star Guardians skins in addition to a legendary arena all around the Star Guardian theme with a fantastic soundtrack.

The new Chibis will have their finishers ending the fight in an even more stylish way. Lux will be available first, Ahri will show up a few patches later. Stand by as new, stylish, and cute characters will start to come out more often on TFT as:

  1. Mini Baron
  2. Grizzle
  3. Whisker

A new limited-time event is also coming to Teamfight Tactics (TFT) soon

At the beginning of 2023, we will have a new event that is going to revolutionize, a new completely themed limited-time game mode. So stay tuned, 2023 will have many new things on TFT to enjoy. If you want to know a little more about the details, watch the Dev’s video explaining a little more about everything that will happen in the next set.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT): Roadmap for 2023

TFT Roadmap2023

To conclude, the year 2023 will start with a new completely themed game mode followed by a mid-set in March. In the summer, we will have a new set to celebrate 4th birthday and in autumn we will have another mid-set. Finally, to end the year we will have an even newer set.

American Video Game developer Riot Games recently promoted Michael Sherman as the new Global Head of Esports for Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, and the upcoming Project L. Sherman has been an Employee of Riot Games since 2014. He started his career with the League of Legends collegiate program and managed the advertising and marketing communications of LCS later in 2020.

In his latest Twitter post, Sherman revealed his excitement about his extreme passion for building Esports alongside the community.

Riot Games plans to focus on unique esports strategies of Teamfight Tactics, LoR, and Project L

For now, Micheal Sherman’s primary focus would lay upon TFT esports because of the fast progression and major improvements in the game. He also mentioned in one of his Twitter posts that he is going to focus on TFT first. The Set Seven TFT esports Roadmap included a huge number of improvements for NA, EMEA, and OCE. It highlighted major system improvements from additional qualifiers to a consistent point system.

Furthermore, Riot Games has recently exposed its plans for TFT esports by adding some more tournaments and teams with larger prize pools through October 2022. Provided that each of the three games possesses distinct genres – auto battlers, collectible card video games, and fighting video games.

Sherman will have to take the responsibility of creating unique esports strategies so that it caters to the taste of each audience. He will ramp up through TFT first and might get to work on Project L in the future. Although many details about Project L have yet not been revealed by Riot Games, it is expected that it won’t be released until 2023 at the earliest. Sherman didn’t mention how much focus will Legends of Runeterra get.

Riot Games, the popular gaming studio has alleged that Imba Network has made a knock-off of its League of Legends spin-off Teamfight Tactics. According to Reuters, Riot Games have filed a lawsuit against them holding them in contempt of stealing likenesses, stories, and lore for its game I Am Hero: AFK Tactical Teamfight.

The Vietnamese developing company Imba Network has denied copying the popular gaming studio’s game in spite of the fact that the lawsuit published by Riot Games has clear comparisons between the two titles.

It also includes names like Heimerdinger (League of Legends) vs. Dinger (I Am Hero: AFK Tactical Teamfight), Teemo vs. Tomee, and Vi vs. Vy. Supposedly some texts that appear in the game are also copied and pasted from Riot Games along with the inclusion of similar abilities and character icons.

Riot Games has sued Imba Network for a whopping $150,000

I Am Hero: AFK Tactical Teamfight is described as an idle RPG that is available across mobile platforms and is also blamed by Riot Games to have some text that appears to have been copied and pasted from Riot and includes similar abilities and character icons.

Riot Games sues Imba Network seeking $150,000 for each instance of copyright infringement caused by the company and has requested the California court to restrict Imba Network from selling its game. They have also filed a cease and desist letter in December with Imba Network, including an “extensive but non-exhaustive side-by-side chart of copied characters and gameplay elements.”

Imba’s plan that potential customers would recognize the Infringing Game’s heroes was successful. Many players commented on the outright copying of LoL champions in the Infringing Game,

Riot games’ lawyer

Riot Games has its own set of issues. One of them was already embroiled in its own lawsuit for sexual harassment within the studio itself. In January 2022, the company agreed on a $100 million gender discrimination settlement to end the lawsuit.

What are your thoughts on Riot Games’ lawsuit against Imba Network? Let us know in the comments below!

The recent announcements from Riot Mortdog and TFT official Twitter page bring us some taste of what is expected to be the best set so far. The official TFT page and Mortdog have unveiled on their Twitter the next set and some of the special treats players will be getting such as mini champions as Little Legends. More importantly, the release date of the next set and what will come with it. In this article we will discuss Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet in detail with all the Gizmos and Gadgets:

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

New Origins and Classes

Academy – Origin

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Garen
  • Graves
  • Katarina
  • Leona
  • Lux
  • Yone
  • Yuumi

This trait gives bonus AD and AP for every Academic based on how much of them are on the game and also gives a bonus every time one of them casts a spell. A common trait to see, we have had Mages, Spellcasters, and others, with the difference that this one also grants AD.

Arcanist – Class

Champions:

  • Twisted Fate
  • Ziggs
  • Swain
  • Malzahar
  • Vex
  • Lux
  • Viktor

This trait gives bonus Ability Power to every character on board and depending on how many of them, bonus points to the Arcanists itself. We have no access to how much is a ton at the moment, but we can expect it to be something over the top as it usually is on magic traits.

Assassin – Class

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Inate: Assassins jump to the enemy backline at the start of combat. Assassins gain bonus Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage, as well as their abilities, can critically strike. The usual Assassin trait.

Bodyguard – Class

Champions:

  • Darius
  • Poppy
  • Blizcrank
  • Leona
  • Braum
  • Galio

One of the tank traits, this time around named Bodyguard. They have bonus armor and taunt enemies around them after the combat begins.

Bruisers – Class

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Illaoi
  • Trundle
  • Vi
  • Cho’Gath
  • Zac
  • Dr. Mundo
  • Tahm Kench

Buff all your team with bonus health, with the Class gaining double the bonus. Usually seen paired with the bodyguard trait on frontlines.

Challenger – Class

Champions:

  • Camille Quinn
  • Warwick
  • Samira Fiora
  • Yone
  • Kai’Sa

Challengers have increased Attack Speed. After taking down an enemy, they dash to the new target and double their bonus AS for 2.5 seconds. A class much like previous duelists or so, with a special bonus upon each takedown.

Chemtech – Class

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

After dropping below 60% health, Chemtech champions gain 25% damage reduction, 50% attack speed and regenerate 5% of their maximum health each second. The amount of Chemtech champions on the board determines how long the buff lasts after being triggered.

Colossus – Class

Champions:

  • Cho’Gath
  • Sion
  • Galio

Colossus are bigger, more powerful, and take up two slots on the board. One Colossus grants immunity to CC, and two grant them taking reduced damage. A class like none before.

Clockwork – Origin

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Camille Zilean
  • Jhin
  • Orianna

All Allies have increased Attack Speed and additional Attack Speed for each Hextec Augment you own. A mix of previous Pulsefire interactions, without the scaling, AS, with the twist of the previous Forgotten trait which gave bonus points for the special items.

Cuddly – Yuumi Trait

Champions:

  • Yuumi

Yuumi attaches herself to her nearest ally at the start of combat, or to the lowest Health ally after being briefly unattached. Attaching grants the ally a shield equal to a portion of Yuumi’s maximum health, and Yuumi detaches if the shield is broken. While attached Yuumi is untargetable and can’t attack, but gains mana per second, and whenever the ally attacks. A 5-star special origin.

Enchanter – Class

Champions:

  • Lulu
  • Taric
  • Janna
  • Orianna

Enchanter’s healing and shielding are stronger, and all Allies gain increased Magic Resistance. A support trait, great for granting sustain for the team and increasing some champion’s utility on the board.

Enforcer – Origin

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Caitlyn
  • Vi
  • Fiora
  • Jayce

Enforcers detain enemies at the start of combat, temporarily removing them from combat:

  • (2) Detain the enemy who has the most Health.
  • (4) Detain the enemy who dealt the most damage last combat.

Glutton – Tahm Kench origin

Once per the planning phase, you can feed a unit to Tahm Kench. This unit is consumed, granting permanent bonus stats. The more valuable the unit, the bigger the bonus. To feed Tahm Kench, hover a unit over him until his mouth opens, then release. Another new trait, with bonus spice to the game since you can feed TK the more if you get him early on.

Imperial – Origin

Champions:

  • Swain
  • Talon
  • Samira
  • Sion

At the start of combat, the Imperial who dealt the most damage last combat becomes the Tyrant. The Tyrant deals bonus damage based on how much Imperials are on board. When the Tyrant dies, the Imperial who has dealt the most damage in this combat becomes the new Tyrant.

Innovator – Class

 Champions:

  • Ezreal
  • Singed
  • Zilean
  • Heimerdinger
  • Seraphine
  • Jayce

Innovators build a mechanical companion to join their battle:

  • (3) Mechanical Scarab
  • (5) Mechanical Bear
  • (7) Mechanical Dragon

The new interaction of the summon unit trait. That giant garen from the mecha set still haunts us.

Mercenary – Origin

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Illaoi
  • Quinn
  • Gangplank
  • Miss Fortune
  • Tahm Kench

Gain a treasure chest that opens when you win combat against a player. At the start of each planning phase, roll the dice to add more loot to the chest! The longer you’ve gone without opening the chest, the luckier the dice.

  • (3) Roll two dice.
  • (5) Roll a third dice that grants you a bonus orb right away.

We all know this one. Pirate, Draconic, Fortune, you name it. But anyways, always fun to play.

Mutant – Origin

Champions:

  • Kassadin KogMaw
  • ChoGath
  • Malzahar
  • Dr. Mundo
  • KaiSa

Mutant gains unique bonuses, varying with each game. There isn’t much information as of now, but we can expect to have some more well-worked interaction of what we had with Qyiana and the elements a few sets ago.

Protector – Class

Champions:

  • Garen
  • Kassadin
  • Blizcrank
  • Sion

Protectors shield themselves for 4 seconds whenever they cast a spell. This shield scales with max Health and trait breakpoints (2,3,4,5). The shield doesn’t stack. Pretty much the same shield interaction we have had for the last sets.

Scholar – Class

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Zyra
  • Heimerdinger
  • Lissandra
  • Janna
  • Yuumi

All allies restore some mana (2,4,6) every 2 seconds. A pair for mana-hungry comps.

Scrap – Origin

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Ezreal
  • Ziggs
  • Blizcrank
  • Trundle
  • Ekko
  • Janna
  • Jinx

At the start of combat, a number of incomplete components on Scrap champions turn into an ephemeral full item for that combat. Additionally, at the start of combat, Scrap champions gain a Health shield increasing with each item equipped in your army.

  • (2) 1 incomplete component
  • (4) 3 incomplete components
  • (6) All incomplete components; Health bonus is doubled.

This reminds us of Cyber with and a bit of Forgotten with the bonus for equipped items, with the twist of completing a random item and doubling the health bonus at full comp.

Sister – Origin

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Vi
  • Jinx

Sisters are empowered by trying to one-up each other. Vi’s ability range increases by two hexes. Jinx gains stacking Attack Speed for 3 seconds on the takedown. This trait should be seen with some fast-8 comps

Sniper – Class

Champions:

  • Caitlyn
  • Kog’Maw
  • Tristana
  • Miss Fortune
  • Jhin

Snipers deal bonus damage (2,4,6) for each hex between themselves and their target. A known trait, especially for the early building of RapidFire Cannon.

Socialite – Origin

Champions:

  • Taric
  • Seraphine
  • Galio

Socialites reveals a spotlight on the battlefield. The unit standing in the spotlight at the start of combat gains unique bonuses:

  • (1) Bonus Damage
  • (2) Bonus Mana Regen
  • (3) Bonus Omnivamp.

Reminds me of the recent Lissandra, Morgana, and Leblanc trio, and probably will work similarly.

Syndicate – Origin

Chosen allies are cloaked in shadows, gaining Omnivamp, Armor, and Magic Resistance:

  • (3) The Syndicate champion with the lowest current Health.
  • (5) All Syndicate champions
  • (7) All Allies. All bonuses are increased.

Not much to say about this one, but it may shine with the right hextec augmentations.

Twinshot – Class

Champions:

  • Graves
  • Kog’Maw
  • Gangplank
  • Urgot
  • Jinx

Whenever a Twinshot attacks, they have a chance (2,4,6) to attack twice instead.

Transformer – Class

Champions:

  • Jayce

Transformers have two forms that they can swap in from during the planning phase depending on whether they are placed in the frontline or backline.

Yordle – Origin

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet

Champions:

  • Poppy
  • Ziggs
  • Tristana
  • Lulu
  • Heimerdinger
  • Vex

Yordles created more Yordles and reduce mana costs:

  • (3) After combat with a player, a random free Yordle appears on your bench!
  • (6) Yordle’s mana cost are reduced.

This is unlike anything. Is almost like the Draconic trait had a child with the Dices. It should really be a trait to look forward to.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet: Hextec Augments

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet
Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 6 Cheat Sheet: Hextec Augments

Hextec Augments are the new mechanic of the set, with Riot Mortdog saying that there are more than 140 different augments. The player can choose from 3 different, each game. The augment other players choose will also be visible. Buffs may have tiers, some being more modest and some being completely bonkers.

Wild Rift has a vast array of champions, skins, and other collectibles that can be bought with either in-game currency or completing daily missions and objectives. They can be bought with the currency bundles which are present in the in-game store and are purchased through actual money. Riot Games has revealed several price changes in the currency bundles in Wild Rift starting from September 8th, 2021. During this time, countries such as Brazil from Latin America and Russia will face increased price rates. This change is set to take place not only in Wild Rift but also in League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.

Regional Price changes in Wild Rift

In a recent blog post by Riot, they have announced several price changes coming to Wild Rift. Riot Games, periodically, analyzes global pricing and has adjusted its in-game pricing system to reflect all region’s currency and taxation changes. This did result in either an increase or a decrease in price changes. The changes in pricing will be taking effect in Europe, Latin American countries, and Russia.

Currency Bundles in-game

Players in Latin America and Russia will face an increase in price changes. However, European players will be enjoying a decrease in price changes, as a result of favourable shifts in exchange rates across Europe. The change is set to take place from September 8th, 2021. Before it goes live, players will get doubled bonus currency with each currency pack purchased from August 23rd to September 8th regardless of whether they’re impacted by price changes. For example, the 3325 bundle which gave players 325 bonus Wild Cores will now be giving 650 bonus WC.

This increase in bonus was set in motion on August 23rd, 2021 and will continue till September 8th, 2021 when the regional prices changes come into effect.

Increase and decrease in price rates for the countries in the above-mentioned regions

  • Brazil: +15% average price increase
  • Colombia: +12% average price increase
  • Costa Rica: +8% average price increase
  • Uruguay: +17% average price increase
  • Peru: +15% average price increase
  • Russia: +6% average price increase
  • Europe (for EUR, GBP & HUF currencies only): -5% average price decrease

It is to be noted that players situated in Europe will only see decreased prices changes if the currency they’re using is Euros, Pound Sterling or Hungarian Forint.

Final Thoughts

Wild Rift continues to see success around the world as more players join the game. The prices are subject to change and we will be seeing more of the increases and decreases in the prices as the exchange rates and taxation changes fluctuate. The League of Legends co-founder and Riot Games co-chairman Marc Merrill sat down with The Post and shared the struggle of diving into the mobile gaming world and expanding into different video game genres. The once small indie company, Riot Games were known for its successful MOBA PC title, League of Legends for a long time. It was just as long as the game had the steady Mac platform that it could only be played on. A decade later, Riot Games is not only acquired by one of the biggest online companies in China, Tencent but have also successfully published several other games from different genres.

Additionally, Riot Games has expanded its reach from PC to mobile games and consoles as well. We will articulate Riot Games discuss the studio’s journey towards mobile gaming and the studio’s plans for the future.

Riot Games journey: Starting from TFT to plans of Valorant Mobile

Under its portfolio, Riot Games has developed a card game in the form of Legends of Runeterra and the Automatic Chess title of Teamfight Tactics which both are inspired by League and have mobile versions of them. As of now, only the Tactical Shooter from Riot Games, Valorant has not been made into a mobile title. Although, there are talks on the plans of Valorant expanding to mobile devices soon.

Even though all mobile games have only been recently published, Marc Merrill reveals that Riot Games has always been interested in the mobile market. Commenting on the late arrival of such games, Co-founder and co-chairman Merrill and other executives has confessed, “One of the advantages that Riot has had historically is that we have the luxury of being able to be long term”. Having a vision of mobile gaming, Riot Games always had a plan to frame its future in the market.

Wild Rift: The mobile adaption of famous PC title League of Legends

Before making the mobile adaptation of League of Legends named Wild Rift and launching it in October of 2020, Riot Games had researched the world about mobile gaming. Having a good comparison through Tencent’s Honor of Kings, Riot Games had strongly analyzed the strongest mobile gaming continent of Asia. Riot soon saw the extent of profit behind the sub-platform was and tried their shot, ending up with success. As of now, all of Riot’s mobile games have made $15 million to $60 million each in lifetime revenue, according to Sensor Tower and App Annie. Even though this does not come close to the impact of Tencent’s “Honor of Kings” in overall Asia, it still gives Riot a good idea of how popular their games might get in the future.

The overall successful switch to the mobile platform did not rise suddenly though. In 2016, Riot had bought a mobile game company, Jolly Company. It was supposed to help Riot Games understand the world of mobile gaming better. Jolly Company’s owner, Michael Chow is currently the executive producer of League of Legends: Wild Rift.

Asking him about the early planning stage of Wild Rift, Chow revealed that “At that time, there was common wisdom that a mobile game would cost two to three million dollars to make. Both me and my team at Jolly as well as Riot believed that it was probably more than an order of magnitude off in terms of what we expected we needed to invest for players, to be able to deliver them something that they deserved.”

Success in keeping players

Apparently, the investment risk has paid out its fee, since according to App Annie and Sensor Tower players have spent around $60 million on in-game purchases. A reason for that might be the loyal fanbase a League game creates. “The reason ‘League of Legends’ is big isn’t because we’re great at acquiring players. It’s big because we’re great at not losing people,” said Merrill. This would support the idea that a regular player would be more inclined to spend money on a game in comparison to a casual/first-time player.

Challenges in shifting to mobile genre

This successful transition into the mobile genre did not come from anything. Riot had to deal with a lot of challenges while bringing their games like Teamfight Tactics or Legends of Runeterra onto almost every functioning phone. Variables such as smaller screens, lower battery life, lower storage, and computing power had to be thought about and considered. Because of that, some options had to been cut out from the mobile versions like the in-game chat of TFT.

Especially, Runeterra had a rough upbringing. To bring up the mobile version at the same time as its PC counterpart, Riot Games delayed their initial launch of Runeterra from 6 months to almost 2 years later. This was not well-received amongst some employees who worked on the older version, which made them leave the project for others.

There were even factors outside of the game development which was new for the Riot team to deal with. Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store would generally take some time to review updates. Therefore, Riot tried to submit their updates one to two weeks in advance to the time when they would like players to receive an update.

These struggles did not stop Riot Games from creating more than one mobile game. Even if they arrived late to the mobile world, Merrill’s view is that “It doesn’t matter much. If you can show up to the platform with an incredible experience that has sufficient gravitational pull or differentiation in some way, to get people to want to come to join that experience.” It’s the dedication and hard work which has been noted when put into a proper release, similar to Riot Games did with their releases. “That’s how we have historically looked at platforms,” said Merrill.

The automatic chess game from Riot Games is now turning two years old. If you, like most, did not see most of the time go by, that’s no problem. Just make sure to play a game before the next patch drops, on July 7th, and you will be rewarded with a Little Legend that is a cake in celebration of the 2nd anniversary of Teamfight Tactics or TFT.

The current state of TFT

The game has had its spotlight for quite a while as Riot continues its strategy of putting the game in the same client as League of Legends. Recently, the game peaked at 10 million players online simultaneously as Riot dev Mortdog stated in a video. What could be a better thing to know than this when celebrating the 2nd anniversary of Teamfight Tactics!

The game also recently revealed the World Championship will be held in China, where qualified players will play live in October. If that isn’t enough to make you think about the game’s health, the finals from the NA challenger series have been recently declared for the event that is confirmed to take place on June 30th and July 1st, at 4 pm PDT or 7 pm EDT, to be co-streamed with riot games own channel!

Quality of Life improvements with TFT Patch 11.13

Patch 11.13 also brought Bug Fixes, rework to some units and mechanics, as well as balance changes. The game is now headed into their mid-set update, which usually brings fresh air and some players back. After that, the game shall begin its new competitive moment.

  • Fixed a bug where getting 8 Assassins would turn off the Assassin bonus (Thanks PieHat!)
  • Wolf, Daisy, Heimerdinger’s Turret, and Zz’Rot’s Voidspawn now correctly have 130% base Critical Strike Damage (Thanks Deisik!)
  • Reforger will no longer reforge Shadow Components into the same Component
  • Eclipse Cape now properly applies its self burn if equipped mid-combat
  • Revive effects (e.g., Guardian Angel, Revenant) will no longer trigger if its holder is affected by Kindred’s ability
  • Teemo will now display correctly in the Shop as costing Health when rolled from a Loaded Dice
