A new action shooter called Operation Delta or Delta Action is on the cards, which has been announced with the official post on its Weibo page. Even though there haven’t been any details revealed in terms of gameplay apart from the 12-second teaser, Operation Delta will be getting a launch on Mobile, Console, and PC platforms.
Operation Delta might arrive with cross-platform support on the release
The game is being developed by Shenzhen-based company iDreamSky with the name of Operation Delta or Delta Action. It was among the 88 game licenses approved by the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) in China. Delta Action was previously known as Project C as reported by APKCBT on Twitter.
There is a possibility that Operation Delta might be a close-quarters combat (CQB) shooter game, given how the action in the teaser is portrayed. The promotional teaser appears to give a healthy resemblance to the now-defunct game Area F2, which saw a worldwide release in 2020 before it was shut down by the makers following a lawsuit battle with Ubisoft as it bore a resemblance and was called a ripoff of popular Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege. However, we cannot neglect that it can also come supporting both TPS and FPS experiences.
Given the mention of Android, iOS, PC, and Console platforms, there is a strong indication that there might be cross-platform alongside cross-progression systems, similar to how Fortnite handles its cross-progression feature. It would be of great help to play with friends across platforms, and even if it isn’t supported on launch, what’s the harm in guessing?
With its action-packed teaser, there’s little doubt that Operation Delta will be aiming to compete with the big guns of the industry like PUBG Mobile and COD: Mobile. However, there isn’t any announcement in English yet, so we shall need to see how things will unveil.
