League of Legends: Wild Rift is an upcoming multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games for both Android and iOS. In general, the game is a modified version of League of Legends PC.
About League of Legends: Wild Rift
As you must have known, League of Legends PC is an immensely popular MOBA title. The PC version has 110 million active players. The game is widely popular among many streaming websites.
With this rising popularity, the publisher tried to turn into a mobile game. This all happened when Tencent Games acquired Riot Games. Initially, Riot claimed that the game can’t be made for mobile devices.
Later on, they started working on League of Legends: Wild Rift. The game resembles all the features and gameplay experience like the PC version. One of the difference is the matches are shorter as compared to the PC version.
Development of the Game
The game’s development started around the end of 2019. The first news surfaced around September of 2019 regarding the game. Although, the development was fast enough to pull out the Alpha test.
On June 2020, Riot Games started their first batch of a limited Alpha test in Brazil and the Philippines. The main objective was to collect reviews and bug reports. They are quite dedicated to making the game extremely balanced and flawless before they launch it globally.
On September 16, 2020, Riot released the closed beta in Southeast Asia via Google Play and TestFlight by Apple. Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia were the few regions to avail it until early October. Gradually the added Japan and South Korea.
Finally, on the 27th of October, they released their Regional Open Beta in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand with more to come.
