Passive – Determination

Kindred-passive-ability

It marks a target with Mark of the Kindred for hunting, allowing Kindred to deal an additional 30% damage to small monsters. Red Bramblebacks and Blue Sentinels are marked. There are different ways to mark a target:

  • Auto-refresh: Every 30 seconds, the Mark on a monster expires and a new one Is automatically applied. Marks on monsters are highlighted on the minimap.
  • Active: Tap the Mark button above your spells to mark an enemy champion. Scoring a takedown against a haunted target grants a Mark of the Kindred stack that empowers Kindred.

The first 2 stacks gained grants with a 75 attack range, and every 3 stacks gained subsequently granted a 25 attack range. Mark of the Kindred also empowers abilities and grants them the following effects:

  • Dance of Arrows: Gain % bonus attack speed equals 1% of the Mark of the Kindred stack count.
  • Wolf’s Frenzy: Deal bonus damage equal to % of current Health(1% of Mark of the Kindred Stack count)
  • Mounting Dread: Deal bonus damage equal to 0% of missing Health (1% of Mark of the Kindred stack count).

Skill 1 – Dance of Arrows

Kindred-passive-ability

Rolls in a target direction and fires an arrow at up to 3 enemies, dealing 65 physical damage and gaining 35% Attack speed for 4 seconds. While in Wolf’s Frenzy, this ability’s cooldown is reduced to 4 seconds

Skill 2 – Wolf’s Frenzy

Kindred-Wolfs-Frenzy-skill
  • Passive: Gains Hunter’s Vigor stacks when moving or attacking. After gaining 100 stacks, Kindred’s next attack restores 25 Health. Health restoration is based on missing Health and level.
  • Active: Claims an area as territory and directs Wolf to maul the last target that Lamb attacked.

Wolf’s mauling deals Magic damage equal to (25+20% of bonus+20%) plus (1.5+1% of Mark of Kindred stack count)% of the target’s current Health. Wolf also deals 100% damage-marked monsters and other surrounding monsters, slowing them by 50% for 2 seconds. Health restoration is the greatest when below 30% Health. The skill deals up to 300 damage to monsters.

Skill 3 – Mounting Dread

Kindred-Mounting-Dread-ability

The skill slows an enemy by 50% for 1 second. Kindred’s third attack within 4 seconds of attacking an enemy directs Wolf to pounce on the target, dealing Physical damage (equal to 80 + 70% of bonus attack plus 8 + 1% Mark of the Kindred stack count) of the target’s missing Health to enemies below 25% Health (25%+40%). It deals up to 300 damage against monsters.

Skill 4 – Lamb’s Respite

Kindred-Lamb-Respite-skill

Lamb blesses the ground under himself for 3 seconds, creating a zone where all units within cannot be killed. When units inside the zone fall to 10% Health or below, they become invulnerable to damage for as long as they stay inside the zone, during which they cannot be healed.

When the blessing ends, restores 200 Health to units within the zone and heals for 100 Health. This ability does not take effect against structures.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Kindred Gameplay Tips

Kindred is a powerful champion capable of bursting down and taking down enemy targets within a short period. Thanks to their high burst damage potential and armor penetration, the best lane to use them is Jungle. The Wild Rift’s map is a mirror, so it is needed to understand the map side before laning. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our League of Legends Wild Rift guide for Kindred includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late games.

Early Game

Players can buy a long sword at first and place a ward in the bushes near the buff so one can be alerted beforehand, just in case an enemy invades your jungle. If no enemy is around, start taking down the jungle monsters. It is advisable to start with the Red Brambleback before proceeding to the Blue Sentinel.

Clear the camps in the order of Red Brambleback, Raptors, Wolves, Blue Buff and Scuttle Crab. This rotation allows the player to level up and farm quickly, gain gold, whilst securing your buffs from any potential enemy invasion.

On clearing out the jungle, players could either rotate to invade the enemy jungle or help gank with an enemy side laner. With that simple jungle rotation technique, players should have unlocked the ultimate.

Players should return to the base to get some pre-core items before larger monsters like Rift Herald and Dragon spawn. Players should not conserve Smite, try to maximize it to slay strong jungle monsters especially when an enemy is contesting it.

Players must note that it’s much advised to prioritize and secure the Rift Herald, as its perks and rewards are more overall beneficial for the team. To easily perform in the early game, one must use the following combo:

Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Skill 3

Mid Game

On taking down main Jungle objectives like the Rift Herald, the allies would be granted lots of gold. Players should further utilize the Herald to take down an enemy turret, granting them extra gold necessary to easily buy and purchase some of your core build items.

With at least, two Damage items one can easily kite and takedown the squishy enemy champions from a distance. To achieve that, one must prioritize aiming the enemy team’s main ADC. Being a burst damage champion, players shouldn’t target high HP and sustain heroes unless they have very low Health and are alone. Nonetheless, prioritizing enemy main ADC heroes would deter enemies farming as killing them will make the enemy fall behind in terms of gold and XP.

Since Kindred is relatively squishy avoid soloing and always move with a roamer to aid you in combat. Players should prioritize enemy targets with low control abilities so they can take them down easily. One should also prioritize the Ultimate ability during intense teamfights since it prolongs their allies’ durability whilst the skill is active. To easily burst down enemy ADC in the Mid or late game, one must use the following combo:

Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Skill 3 + Skill 4 + Skill 1

Late Game

Upon farming and taking objectives during the early or mid-game, Kindred now excels at taking down enemy backliners effectively. As they can easily takedown not-too-durable enemy champions on the Rift. During the late game, both teams deal with massive damage and their main objective is to push turrets whilst securing epic monsters like Baron Nashor and the Elder Dragons.

As the ranged Jungler, roam around the map, preferably with a Tank to soak all the damages, and then target enemy carry and Mage heroes whilst keeping a distance. Once the enemy’s main damage dealer has been taken down, you and your team will be able to easily clear the lanes and take on objectives

Final Thoughts

Kindred is undoubtedly a powerful Jungle champion with powerful skills and high critical attack that can easily burst down enemy champions. Coupled with the powerful death-immune ultimate ability, Kindred is undoubtedly an annoying champion to deal with. Nonetheless, one thing is for sure, it is really fun playing this new champion.
