The multi-million copy-selling 2D actionadventure sandbox game Terraria released the 1.4.3 update on mobile devices, introducing crossover content courtesy of Klei Entertainment’s wilderness survival smash hit, Don’t Starve Together.

A Don’t Starve inspired World Seed functionality is now live

The team deliberated for a long time about the best approach to incorporate Don’t Starve Together’s gameplay characteristics into Terraria in a fun and innovative way. The devs opted to use the World Seed capability from Journey’s End to create a more holistic Don’t Starve x Terraria experience, rather than having a standalone “event” as the devs did with Dungeon Defenders 2, rather than having a standalone “event” as the devs did with Dungeon Defenders 2.

Players can enter a Don’t Starve Inspired World during this crossover

Higher Drop rates for Don’t Starve Inspired Items will be available in this crossover. To explore this new way to play Terraria, Don’t Starve Together style, simply enter The Constant as your world seed upon creating a new world.

Players have always enjoyed the Deerclops in the Don’t Starve Together games, so it was an easy decision for the devs to make it the featured boss encounter for this crossover. This boss was designed to be accessible to as many players as possible, hence it was placed in the middle/late Pre-Hardmode.

Check out his super-cool theme music, which was created by Klei themselves and is based on Deerclops’ tune from Don’t Starve! You can summon this terrifying foe in the cold climate of the Ice Biome.

Don’t Starve Together inspired items will be available in the Crossover

What Terraria update would be complete without a slew of new things to find and use? Devs have included over 25 items in this Terraria Don’t Starve Together crossover that was inspired by or lifted from Don’t Starve Together content. These include new pets, weaponry, and vanity, among other things! These can drop on any planet, but worlds with the DST The Constant seed have a greater drop rate!

A sequel to Terraria, the popular sandbox title that is still being actively updated since its release in 2011 and still has a sizable active community, has been teased, titled Terraria 2- A New Age! New updates on a developer’s Twitter profile could be teasers meant to excite the community before a major announcement although nothing is really clear yet.

Fans have been asking for a sequel to Terraria for a while now on a bunch of internet forums but the game’s developers and publishers haven’t ever paid much attention to those requests, opting to keep the original game fresh through updates instead.

Have developers teased Terraria 2- A New Age, or are they trolling fans

Terraria 2- a new age teased
Image via 505 Games

However, @chippygamingyt, a content creator who focuses on Terraria-related content, brought attention to a change in one of the developers’ Twitter profiles. Redigit or @Demilogic, a developer for the game, has changed their location to Terraria 2- A New Age

These changes have led many to believe that a sequel might be in the works. Re-Logic’s VP, Whitney Spinks (@Cennxx) also updated her location to Terraria 2.5 the Final Update (which doesn’t quite make sense since the game just got its 1.4.4 update recently). A third location change seems to make this all seem like an orchestrated prank since another person working on Terraria, Leinfors (@Leinfors), changed their location to Terraria 3: The New Dimension

While this does seem to be a prank, it can also be interpreted as the players’ requests being acknowledged by the people working on the game. If it will ever result in a sequel is something that can’t be confirmed nor denied right now. Only an official announcement can really confirm a sequel and give fans much to look forward to.

Terraria is a long-term 2D adventure sandbox game. It strives to keep the players going by slaying enemies and obtaining and forging equipment to eventually beat the final boss of the game. Before reaching this final stage, the player will have to go through several trials to prove their worth. Better said, he needs to defeat several pre-hardmode bosses for their loot before being able to challenge the greater ones in Terraria. This is not an easy task in Terraria, therefore this guide will give some insight on how to summon and fight these Pre-Hardmode bosses easily.

Boss Tally

Depending on the version of Terraria Mobile which has been running, there has been currently a total of 31 bosses. These are split into different categories, namely Pre-Hardmode bosses, Hardmode bosses, and Event mini-bosses. Some bosses are optional, while others are required to have been defeated at least once per world to progress to another. Otherwise, nothing will happen even if all other summon requirements are met. There is also a guide to summon and defeat Event Bosses in Terraria, so be sure to check it out.

Summoning

Each boss requires a summoning item and/or certain conditions to be summoned. This can result in taking quite the journey to gather the material needed, depending on your world size, materials needed, luck and enemy spawn rate.

Boss phases

Most bosses have a second phase which makes them more deadly due to the various buffs they attain. During this, they will “transform“, making them immobile and stop attacking for a few seconds, after which they will usually deal more damage, gain more defence, become faster or attack with more precision.

Pre-Hardmode bosses in Terraria

Pre-Hardmode bosses are a slight taste of what’s to come once Hardmode is achieved. Although, this does not mean they are less difficult to defeat. No matter what boss or what mode, it’s better to upgrade your health to the fullest and gather the best gear and potions possible before even thinking about taking them on.

Boss status messages

When pre-hardmode bosses are summoned in Terraria, they always announce themselves with a warning visible to every player present in the world it was summoned. These are crucial if want to avoid an encounter with some bosses or need to retreat with minimal received damage.

All bosses have a standard prefix line: “<Boss name> has awoken”. These are some having unique lines before the aforementioned. The only Pre-hardmode exceptional is the Eye of Cthulhu displaying the status “You feel an evil presence watching you…”. This is when he has remained unsummoned and undefeated after meeting the summoning requirements.

Boss summon order

Fortunately, there is an order at which some bosses can be summoned. One can take all the time one needs to prepare for the battle. We’ve listed the order below, therefore one should know what he is up against.

King Slime

Summon requirementsBoss HPDifficulty
Slime Crown (craftable) or Slay 150 slimes during a slime rain

2000Easy
Terraria Pre-Hardmode bosses
King Slime

King Slime is a relatively easy boss to defeat at the start of a new world. This is due to the easy summon requirements and low overall HP. It can be defeated with a mere copper sword, but it’s better to have a better ore sword equipped. A simple start would be to keep him close while jabbing backwards while it chases you. Be careful though as he has teleport ninjutsu which activates when he gets too far off-screen.

Eye of Cthulhu

Summon requirementsBoss HPDifficulty
The player has 200 HP, a minimum of 3 housed NPC’s, 10 defence (armor) and it’s night time or Suspicious looking eye (craftable) 2800Normal
Terraria Pre-Hardmode bosses
Eye of Cthulhu

The Eye of Cthulhu is a one-eyed terror pre-hardmode boss. It is the first boss actually worth defeating for good loot drops that partly depend on what Evil your world has. It is also a timed boss which means that one has to defeat it before the night ends. Else, it will despawn in the morning. Being able to clip through blocks and attack with great speed, this menace won’t leave one alone on the surface unless it is defeated or retreat to the deep underground before it spawns. Should one choose to take it on, memorize its attack pattern while running backwards and lunge back once he’s less mobile.

Queen Bee

Summon requirementsBoss HPDifficulty
Destroy a larva or Abeemination (craftable)3400Normal
Queen Bee

Queen Bee is the easiest underground boss that spawns in Beehives, the majestic Underground Jungle with drops worth acquiring before progressing forward. Once summoned, it’s very hard to get away from due to the tremendous speed it travels at and its ability to go through blocks. Luckily, Bee Hives all have Honey which increases regeneration if encased inside. She is required to be defeated to make the Witch Doctor NPC spawn who optionally counts towards the needed town NPC’s to spawn others. If faced with it, it’s better to have some health potions at reach, because the main problem is its poison attacks which it releases when present above the player.

Eater of Worlds

Summon requirementsBoss HPDifficulty
Destroying 3 Shadow Orbs Worm Food (craftable)10050Normal
Eater of Worlds

Eater of Worlds is a boss only appearing in the Corruption Evil biome, dropping loot needed for better armor upgrades. It is relatively easy to defeat, with the only challenge being its HP. The HP is generally split through its segments. It is able to phase through blocks and will despawn once it’s too far off-screen. If wanting to avoid the encounter, you’ll need a magic mirror and home placed distant from the biome Evil. To easily defeat it, swing a sword at each segment as it passes through and slightly moves from the spot you’re standing. You won’t even have to worry about carrying too many health potions as each destroyed segment drops hearts that slightly restore health.

Brain of Cthulhu

Summon requirementsBoss HPDifficulty
Destroying 3 Crimson Hearts or Bloody Spine (craftable)1000Normal
Terraria Pre-Hardmode bosses
Brain of Cthulhu

Brain of Cthulhu, the Crimson counterpart of the Corruption’s Eater of Worlds boss drops some much-needed loot for better upgrades. Don’t let its low overall HP fool you, this boss was made to deceive and can kill you easily, if not prepared. Be aware that it can’t be touched until its annoying minions are defeated and it reaches its second phase. After that, it will charge with more speed and will often teleport. One must try fighting it with both a strong defence and sword for the first phase and bow with the second for more distance.

Skeletron

Summon requirementsBoss HPDifficulty
Talking to the Old Man at the Dungeon entrance and night time.
Clothier Voodoo Doll (NPC death drop)
4400Normal
Skeletron

Skeletron, the guardian of the Dungeon is a boss with a huge cracking skeletal head and long arms. It is an optional boss to be defeated to gain early access to the Dungeon. It is advised to defeat him before Hardmode begins to explore the Dungeon with more ease and unlock the Clothier NPC. It’s annoying long arms are the easiest to target and should be taken care of before going for the head which is the only thing that actually needs to be destroyed to defeat it. Defeating it will require patience, good reflexes and preferably a ranged weapon with good base damage.

Wall of Flesh

Summon requirementsBoss HPDifficulty
Dropping Clothier Voodoo Doll into lava8000Hard
Terraria Pre-Hardmode bosses
Wall of Flesh

The Wall of Flesh who is the guardian of the world, is the final, most terrifying and hardest Pre-hardmode boss. He is required to be defeated to progress forward into Hardmode. The boss also drops many useful items upon defeat. He is the only known Underworld boss which requires intense preparation and carefulness before facing. Should the boss be summoned by accident, the only way to evade is by dying. Trying to teleport home will have the same result. The fastest, but the most time-consuming way to defeat it is to build a bridge long enough to carry you a long way, a lot of health potions and ranged gear with loads of ammo. An even faster way is the use of easily craftable molotovs.

*Beware its second phase as it begins to shoot projectiles that can be lethal if unevaded too many times. *It must be defeated before it reaches either end of the map or it will despawn, inevitably killing you in the process.

Whether it’s seasonal or permanently available ones, Terraria has a bunch of in-game events that occur from time to time. These events always have a bunch of content, which can be obtained by defeating the bunch of enemies that come with them. The majority, however, lacks the proper loot you’d want to obtain in Terraria, which is why the attention is focused on the big dudes, the event bosses. In this Terraria guide, we shall discuss how to defeat these event bosses to obtain that sweet loot you dreamed of.

Pre-Hardmode Bosses

Dark Mage

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty
Place an Eternia Crystal on an Eternia Crystal Stand800 (Tier 1) 4000 (Tier 3)Normal
Terraria Event Bosses
Dark Mage

The Dark Mage is an Old One’s Army Tier-1 exclusive final mini-boss that has unique attacks which it launches at the player, often switching to a summoning state which heals or summons enemies around it. Beating it is quite easy with a ranged weapon that affects multiple enemies in a far straight line. It does not drop any cool weapon but has a bunch of cool-looking cosmetics that can liven up gameplay.

Hardmode Bosses

Ogre

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty
Place an Eternia Crystal on an Eternia Crystal Stand *Enter Hardmode5000 (Tier 2) 13000 (Tier 3)Hard
Terraria Event Bosses
Ogre

The Ogre, an Old One’s Army Tier 2 is an exclusive final mini-boss with 3 random attacks that range from throwing snot, jumping and creating a shockwave and swinging around its club to damage the player. It does drop a few pleasant weapons upon defeat which can really speed up going through Hardmode as a whole. It moves slowly, so trying to beat it with any powerful piercing ranged weapon will do.

Betsy

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty
Place an Eternia Crystal on an Eternia Crystal Stand *Beat Golem once50000Insane
Terraria Event Bosses
Betsy

Betsy is an Old One’s Army Tier 3 exclusive final mini-boss with devastating flame attack patterns, bearing similarities to Duke Fishron. Defeating Betsy can prove to be quite difficult, but is quite rewarding among the event bosses, as it drops weapons that can carry through the Endgame phase in Terraria. To defeat it, an AOE weapon like the Daedalus Stormbow with any debuff arrow is recommended as it tends to speed up from side to side frequently and the minor enemies won’t be standing idle.

Flying Dutchman

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty

Terraria Event Bosses
Flying Dutchman

The Flying Dutchman is a pirate invasion exclusive mini-boss that will spawn after 65% of the invasion enemies have been taken care of. It attacks with spawning pirates spawn from the air and fires cannonballs of which the cannons must first take care of to kill it. Multiple Flying Dutchman can appear at once if the invasion is still ongoing but do remove themselves if not bothered after some time. Defeating it is quite easy, as long as you have a weapon with range at hand.

Mourning Wood

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty
Pumpkin Moon Medallion *Night time12000Hard
Terraria Event Bosses
Mourning Wood

Mourning Wood is an aground Pumpkin Moon exclusive mini-boss that appears starting from wave 4, afterwards appearing multiple times. It drops some good items and attacks with Flaming Wood projectiles that can be dodged standing afar. The main problem is it being able to pass and shoot these attacks through blocks. They don’t deal a lot of damage, but the constant burst is quite annoying if the player is on ground level. The best way is to remain airborne and attack with a ranged weapon that can hit a lot of targets.

Pumpking

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty
Pumpkin Moon Medallion *Night time22000Very Hard
Terraria Event Bosses
Pumpking

Pumpking is an airborne Pumpkin Moon exclusive mini-boss that appears starting from wave 7, afterward, just like Mourning Wood, appearing multiple times per wave. It drops a ton of good loot like the well-known The Horseman’s Blade. Pumpking is also able to pass through blocks, but the real problem is its relentless blade attacks, which intensity is defined by its turning face carvings. Since Pumpking is more airborne, it can be solved with a weapon with homing ammunition or an AOE weapon.

Everscream

Terraria Event Bosses
Everscream

Everscream is an aground Frost Moon exclusive mini-boss that appears starting from wave 4. It has similar attacks like the Mourning Wood but instead fires pine needles and ornaments. It can appear multiple times per round and can pass through blocks. This can cause some insane damage if the player is standing still in place. At higher waves, it has a higher chance of dropping good loot, like the famous Razorpine Typhoon. This is the same tactic that was applied to Mourning Wood can also be applied with this boss, which is attacking from afar.

Santa-NK1

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty

Terraria Event Bosses
Santa-NK1

Santa-NK1 is an aground Frost Moon exclusive mini-boss that appears starting from wave 7, afterwards appearing in multiple numbers. It fires fast travelling bullets from its arm, presents and rockets that can go through blocks, while the boss itself cannot. The higher the wave, the better the chance of obtaining good loot, one being the Chaingun, a rapidly firing mini-gun, which is similar to the one the boss uses to attack. The boss is quite easy to defeat considering you maintain the upper ground and attack with a powerful weapon.

Ice Queen

Summon requirementBoss HPDifficulty
Naughty Present *Night time34000Very Hard
Terraria Event Bosses
Ice Queen

Ice Queen is an airborne Frost Moon exclusive mini-boss that appears starting from wave 11, afterwards appearing in more numbers and having a higher chance to drop greater loot. As for attacks, it uses ice rotating ice waves and scattering icy shards. It can drop the North Pole at a chance, which is a very useful weapon for melee users to obtain. Avoiding the Icy shards is possible by flying in left and right motion and attacking with a ranged weapon with homing ammunition or melee weapon that launches projectiles.

Martin Saucer is an airborne Martian Madness exclusive mini-boss that appears starting from 30% of the event. The most notable feature is the two forms from which it first launches projectiles at the player and then fires a death laser from the bottom. The boss will always float atop the player, making it impossible to evade unless going sideways. This makes the best strategy using any weapon that fires projectiles while moving side by side to avoid the immense damage of the death ray.

Stardust Pillar

Stardust Pillar

The Stardust Pillar is one of four idle Lunar Event bosses who have to be defeated for the Moon Lord to appear. Just like every other pillar, it summons (summoner-type) enemies to defend itself. It is invincible until 100 of them are defeated. Once its shield fades completely, it can be destroyed and drops Stardust Fragments which can be collected from where the pillar was floating. This is overall the easiest pillar to defeat, but one can decide on your own which one suits your class better.

The Solar Pillar is one of the hardest out of four idle Lunar Event bosses who have to be defeated for the Moon Lord to appear. Once its shield fades completely, it can be destroyed and drops Solar Fragments which can be collected from where the pillar was floating. The best strategy is to remain close to the ground with a very strong melee, magic or ranged weapon to avoid the sky enemies, especially the annoying Crawltipedes.

The Nebula Pillar is one of the hardest out of four idle Lunar Event bosses who have to be defeated for the Moon Lord to appear. Just like every other pillar, it summons (magic-type) enemies to defend itself and is invincible until 100 of them are defeated. Once its shield fades completely, it can be destroyed and drops Nebula Fragments which can be collected from where the pillar was floating. A recommended strategy is to have a sky bridge, equip wings and move at a great speed to avoid the debuffs the enemies cause.

Terraria is an action-packed, adventure sandbox game featuring a classic mine and build experience with beautiful 2D areas to explore, events to encounter, and bosses to take on. Before starting a world, attaining knowledge is always recommended, as there are many dangers unknown. One of these bits of knowledge we’d like to guide is to obtain and make use of Wings in Terraria Mobile for manoeuvring in the air with ease, which will, in turn, save you from a lot of dangers lurking on the ground below.

Wings are obtainable, fall damage negating accessories that allow flight and slowly falling. Almost every pair of Wings is only obtainable after turning the world to Hardmode by defeating the final Pre-Hardmode boss: The Wall of Flesh. After the world has been converted, Wings will become accessible for crafting (see the Guide NPC) once you have the necessary materials and either a Mithryl or Orichalcum Anvil to craft them.

How to use the wings in Terraria Mobile

First, equip the Wings onto any accessory slot. After equipping them, long-press the up button or swipe up using the movement joystick button to fly up and keep holding the jump button to glide down. Using the movement keys, while flying, will also allow you to have a longer flying length. Some wings have more length of flight than others, so remember to equip the one most suitable for the distances you want to reach.

Terraria Mobile is that one of a kind game that can have you attached to it for hours with its unique 2D craft and build RPG playstyle. Some RPG elements are brought out by the interactivity with the game’s non-playable characters also known as NPCs. This article will guide you on all about how to get these NPCs in Terraria Mobile, their usefulness, and why you should keep them happy.

What are NPCs in Terraria Mobile?

Terraria Mobile NPCs Guide
The first NPC in the game

NPCs (Non-Playable Character) are automated characters that can interact with the player and provide help. They can be Vendors (meaning they sell items for coins) or Helpers (provide service for free/coins). NPCs cannot be directly harmed by the player, though they can take other forms of damage and.

At the start of a new world, the first NPC that comes to meet the eye is the Guide whose purpose only serves to guide the player in times of need. Just like most NPCs, he fights off dangers, has unique dialogue and personal preferences. He belongs to a total of 29 interactable NPC’s that benefit the player dearly in both early and late-game. Even if the process of getting them is long-term, but in the end, the one who reaps the benefits will be you. That’s why we’ll start by welcoming them into your world and what better way is there but to prepare their own living space?

NPC Homes

NPC’s require their own living space to move in which will require you to go out and search for any desired material. Almost all NPCs in Terraria Mobile can live inside a basic 8×8  “shoebox” made of any solid material, however, you will have to mind these basic needs for it to be considered valid:

  • A ceiling
  • A door
  • A light source (at least a torch)
  • Crafted walls
  • A table (workbench works too)
  • A chair
  • (Optional) Some Furniture to spice things up

Valid Homes for NPCs

You can check if an NPC home is valid by navigating to the Housing menu, tapping the ”?” and tapping anywhere inside the room you wish your NPC to move in. If the space is valid, expect the NPC to move in the morning or afternoon.

In case the NPC doesn’t move in:

  • Invalidated housing (Check if you haven’t left out any of the important house parts)
  • There is Corruption or Crimson nearby. (Take care of it or move somewhere else)
  • There isn’t enough living space. (Make more room)
  • Some unpatched holes in the walls are present. (Remove any present natural walls in your house)
  • There is another NPC present in the house. (Move it to another valid house)

Types of NPCs in Terraria Mobile

NPC’s are categorized into two types namely, Pre-Hardmode NPC’s and Hardmode NPC’s which can then again be categorized into normal and special inhabitants. Pre-Hardmode NPC’s can move into any housing before or after Hardmode. While Hardmode NPC’s require Hardmode to be activated before they move in. Normal Inhabitants move in regardless of any defeated boss or discovery and can at the most require other similar NPC’s to be present before they spawn. Although, special inhabitants require more or fewer bosses to be defeated before they can move in. Nonetheless, all NPC’s are player-friendly types that could help protect and progress throughout the game.

NPC Happiness

NPC happiness is quite a complex-calculated process that affects NPC prices, thus, depending on who their neighbours are and what biomes they are present at. Keeping them happy isn’t necessarily needed unless you wish to save money. Thus, keeping in mind, that it will also require you to consistently transfer them to a different biome and also have different loved NPC’s near them.

The Terraria mobile 1.4 patch has squashed many bugs and glitches that were previously available in the 1.3 version, just like how it was done on PC. Many players were exploiting these glitches, so Re-logic implemented a change to balance the game. In this article, we will be discussing the methods to execute the various Duplication Glitches in Terraria Mobile.

What are the duplication glitches in Terraria Mobile?

1. Item Duplication Glitch

Terraria Duplication glitches

The item duplication glitch is a discovered 1.3 glitch that allowed players to duplicate any item they wish into even unlimited quantities. It is such an overpowered glitch that Re-logic had decided to remove it from the game. Here’s how to perform the previous item duplication glitch in the game. This glitch required but a world to play, 4 iron bars, 2 item frames, a chest, and a crafting table. The below steps were taken to duplicate the items:

  1. Place down the 4 item bars and put a chest on top of it.
  2. Remove the bottom 2 bars and place a crafting table below it.
  3. Break the chest and place the item frame above it.
  4. Break the right side of the crafting table and place another item frame below it.
  5. Now hold on to an item you wish to duplicate, long-press it above frames with it, and see the magic happen!

2. Multiplayer Duplication Glitch

Even with the patch, there is another glitch now working on the current 1.4.0.5 version which allows you to infinitely duplicate using a single chest. Here’s how you can execute this glitch.

  1. Create a world or enter an existing world.
  2. Craft and place down a chest.
  3. Save and exit the world.
  4. Go to multiplayer and host a server (any settings).
  5. Open the chest and place the items you wish to duplicate inside.
  6. Turn Autosave -> Off
  7. Force close the game by pressing the phone’s minimize button and swiping Terraria away.
  8. Relaunch the game and enter as a single player.
  9. You now have the items in your inventory and the selected chest.

3. Single Player Duplication Glitch

  1. Create a world or enter an existing world.
  2. Craft and place down a chest.
  3. Open the chest and place the items you wish to duplicate inside.
  4. Turn Autosave -> On.
  5. Save and exit the world.
  6. Join back in the same world you made.
  7. Open the chest and place the items back into your inventory.
  8. Kill the opponent player who might be respawning.
  9. Quickly force close the game by pressing the phone’s minimize button and swiping Terraria away.
  10. Relaunch the game and enter a single player.
  11. You now have the items in your inventory and the selected chest.

4. Worlds File Duplication Glitch

This older version was overshadowed by the item frame version as it requires world duplication. To do this a couple of relatively easy, but long steps are required:

  1. Have a world with the items you want to duplicate.
  2. Place these items in a chest.
  3. Save and exit the world.
  4. Now go to your File Manager and locate the Terraria destination folder (Storage > Android > Data > com.and.games505.TerrariaPaid)
  5. Open the folder and select “Worlds”.
  6. Now locate the name of your world you see in the folder.
  7. Copy the .wld and .wld.bak files.
  8. (Optional) Rename the copied world for easier distinguishing by renaming it to anything before the .wld and the .wld.bak file type. For example, if you wish to change Terra.wld to Blizzard.wld then also change Terra.wld.bak to Blizzard.wld.bak.
  9. Exit and launch Terraria.
  10. Now select and enter the copied world.
  11. If you can’t see the copied world, recheck all previous steps were taken and restart Terraria.
  12. Now take the items from the copied world chest.
  13. You may reenter the original world with the collected items.

5. Player File Duplication Glitch

The world duplication is done by copying worlds, however the same can be done with player files.

  1. Have a player with items stored within the inventory which you wish to duplicate and also have a chest.
  2. Save and exit the world.
  3. Now go to your File Manager and locate the Terraria destination folder (Storage > Android > data > com.and.games505.TerrariaPaid)
  4. Open the folder and select Players.
  5. Now locate the name of your world you see in the folder
  6. Copy the .plr and .plr.bak files
  7. (Optional) Rename the copied world for easier distinguishing by renaming it to anything before .plr and the .plr.bak file type. For example, if you wish to change Dan.plr to Ben.plr then also change Dan.plr.bak to Ben.plr.bak
  8. Exit and launch Terraria
  9. Now select the copied player
  10. If you can’t see the copied player, recheck all previous steps were taken and restart Terraria
  11. Enter a world and place the items from the copied player’s inventory in a chest
  12. You may now delete the copied player and enter the world with the original to collect your stored items.

The worlds and player files can be copied an unlimited amount of time. But it depends on the quantity of the stored items in the chest. This means the more items are stored inside the chests, the more items can be carried over to the original/existing world.

The Terraria 1.4 has recently been released on mobile devices. But as it is a huge update, it also brings about a few bugs and other problems. These problems vary among different mobile devices. Here is a list of the most common issues in Terraria 1.4 and how you can fix them to have a smooth gaming experience.

Terraria 1.4 Common Issues

1. Black Screen

Terraria 1.4 common issues

Players have faced a black screen upon opening the game. Also, the sound plays without you being able to tap the buttons (where they used to be).

Fix

  • Make sure you have downloaded the application from the official stores (Play Store, App Stores) and no third party market. If the issue still persists, it could mean your device does not support that particular Terraria build. So consider downgrading to lower versions using the online stores.
  • Clear the game data or delete and reinstall Terraria, as it might be an installation bug that occurred.

2. Corrupt Background

In some cases, the background of the game may appear to be corrupt, with linings appearing that intervene with the animation.

Fix

  • Make sure your Background Quality is set to low. You can do that by going to Settings -> Graphics-> Background Quality-> Low.

3. Phone heats up abruptly

The developers make sure the game is optimized to its finest, however, some devices like iPhones and some Android models have common heat issues.

Fix

  • Close all apps in the background if any are active. To do this, restrict the background process limit in developer settings. Go to Settings->About phone->tap build number until “you are now a developer!” pops up-> exit->developer options->restrict background process limit-> change to “no background processes”.
  • If playing in offline mode disable WiFi and/or Bluetooth or just turn on Airplane mode.
  • Turn down volume to silent. This also works sometimes

4. App crashes/Game freezes

Terraria may crash at certain times and there can be many reasons for this: insufficient ram, the application doesn’t fully support your phone model, insufficient storage space, etc.

Fix

  • Insufficient RAM/Storage might be the reason. Try cleaning up your phone’s memory by deleting files and closing or restricting background processes.
  • Phone model not supported:  Get a new phone, or consider using a modified version of the application that does support your model. (Terraria 1.4 requires at least Android 4.3 and iOS 10.0)

5. Lag spikes

Lagging is one of the most common issues of Terraria mobile as it is a very RAM-intensive game. Lag can occur during the game, but also after the app is closed.

Fix

  • For the phone settings, closing or restricting background processes can solve this issue.

6. Weird Control scheme/Game functionality

Terraria 1.4 common issues

Players that take the big hop from Terraria 1.2 to 1.4 will be taking a big step into the new UI added since 1.3 and now even more refined in 1.4. For instance, the jump and aim buttons may feel very strange, due to the new settings.

Fix

Go to the game settings and apply the following at the Controls interface:

  • Stick Jump: Swipe Up
  • Auto swing: On
  • Autopause: On
