PUBG Mobile is currently one of the most played battle-royale games in the world right now. With a total download number of over 735 million worldwide, this game is breaking the charts for a long time. But these statistics are only applicable for the Global version, which is accessible from almost every region of the planet. However, there are some versions of the game which are exclusively for some specific region or country. In this article, we will talk about the different versions of PUBG Mobile available.

What are the different versions of PUBG Mobile that you can play?

Currently, there are two versions of PUBG Mobile which are available for almost all players around the globe – PUBG Mobile Global and PUBG Mobile Lite

1. PUBG Mobile Global Version

The global version of the PUBG Mobile is the biggest and most played version of the game with a total download number of around 735 million and a daily active user-base of almost 50 million. Most of the eSports tournaments and official events are played on this version of the game. This version is accessible from almost anywhere in the world except the regions where it is restricted. The odds of getting items from the crates are very low. Due to a heavy user base, the gameplay of this version lags in the low and mid-end devices

2. PUBG Mobile Lite Version

As the name suggests, this is the lighter version of the global variant. It is made exclusively for users with low-end devices. The lite version can run on a smartphone with 2 GB RAM. This version is heavily favored among low-end device gamers. This version’s size is almost 600 MB. The game is however only available for Android devices at the moment, and there is no way by which you can download it on an iOS device.

However, the Global versions of PUBG Mobile are not accessible in some parts of the world. As a result, there are country-specific versions of the game available, which are exclusively for those specific countries.

3. PUBG Mobile Korean Version (KR)

PUBG Mobile different versions

This version of PUBG Mobile is specially made for players of Korea and Japan. The lag ratio is very low on this version. The crates and the lucky spins also come earlier on this version than the global one. The odd of getting an item from crates are also quite higher than the global version of PUBG Mobile. Many players prefer the Korean version of the game for these reasons. To get your hands on PUBG Mobile Korea, you can check our step by step guide here.

4. PUBG Mobile Vietnam Version (VN)

PUBG Mobile different versions

The PUBG Mobile Vietnam or VN version is made for the players of Vietnam. The gameplay of this version is almost identical to the global version. Players of Vietnam country can download this version from the Google play store or from the App store. However, if you are not a Vietnamese resident you need to perform the following easy steps to try PUBG Mobile Vietnam.

5. Game for Peace (China)

PUBG Mobile Chinese version or the Game for Peace (GFP) is generally available to download in China. The features of the Chinese version are not exactly similar to the global version of the game. While the gameplay for both game looks quite similar, the graphics are much better and more appealing in the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile. And since the game is managed by Tencent Games, it is obvious that Game for Peace always stays one step ahead, be it in terms of content or any other updates. If you are a non-Chinese resident, you can download the game using these steps.

6. PUBG Mobile Taiwan (TW)

PUBG Mobile different versions

PUBG Mobile Taiwan version is for the players of Taiwan. The gameplay of this version is almost the same as the global version. Though there are some little differences. The odds of getting items from crates are much higher than the other versions. The lag is also lesser in this version. Players from those specific regions can download it from the play-store or app store. The events of this version also provide great rewards.

7. PUBG Mobile India

After the ban of PUBG Mobile in India by the government, recently PUBG Corp. announced an exclusive version of the game for the players of India. Moreover, they announced in November on their social media platforms. The Indian version is expected to be playable soon after it is successfully registered with the Indian Government recently. Fingers crossed, the beloved game might be back soon.

On 2nd September 2020, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) of Govt. of India imposed a ban on the massively popular Battle Royale game, PUBG Mobile and its lite version. The ban was imposed due to a violation of the User Agreement and Privacy of the players. Also, the National Security was at threat. The game was removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store in India within a few hours. The official PUBG Mobile team today announced that PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite will not be accessible from India any more as they will terminate services and access to the game for all Indian users on October 30, 2020.

The aftermath of PUBG Mobile & PUBG Mobile Lite ban in India

They issued a notice saying that they respect the decision and order of the Indian Government and actively working with them to sort out the issue. The ban left many gamers and streamers clueless. For them, PUBG Mobile was not only a game rather it was an emotion. The impact of the ban was clearly seen at the initial stage.

Although, many people were still able to access the game as the servers were still alive. The game functioned normally and the players could play without any difficulties. Apart from this, people had hoped for PUBG Mobile to make a comeback as PUBG Corp had pulled out of their partnership with Tencent from publishing the game in India. In addition to this, many news and speculations surfaced. There were many reports regarding PUBG Mobile looking for Indian Companies like Reliance Jio to tie up and re-launch in the market.

PUBG Mobile to terminate all service and access for Indian users

However, PUBG Mobile confirmed that they will terminate all the services and access for the users in India for PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite on October 30th. They announced it on their Official Facebook page and Discord server.

In the official post, the PUBG Mobile team announced that they will return the rights to publish PUBG Mobile in India back to the PUBG Corporation, the owner of the PUBG Intellectual property. They also stated that they deeply regret this outcome and thanked the huge Indian fanbase of the game for all the love and support.

Final thoughts

While this announcement opens room for new speculation on the future of PUBG Mobile in India, if you are missing playing PUBG Mobile, you can try out these PUBG Mobile alternatives. FAU-G, anticipated to be an Indian version of the popular Battle Royale is set to release in November this year, with publisher nCore Games dropping the game teaser just days ago. While we all wait for more news on the future of PUBG Mobile in India, you can settle with these games for now.

South Korean company PUBG has initiated talks with Jio Platforms for the distribution of PUBG Mobile in India. Recently, the government of India imposed a ban on PUBG mobile along with other 118 apps. This is because it was being distributed in India by Chinese firm Tencent Games. Days after the ban was imposed, PUBG Corp took a bold move by removing Tencent Games authorization in India. Tencent Games was the official publisher of the game in India. The Shenzhen based company was publishing the game since it launched for the first time worldwide.

PUBG to collaborate with Jio to unban PUBG Mobile in India

Since the ban imposed on PUBG Mobile, the PUBG Corp has been seeking alternatives to relaunch in the Indian market. The South-Korean company is looking to unban PUBG Mobile and relaunch the game in India. And to do that PUBG Corporation is looking for an active Indian company for is authorization and distribution.

PUBG Mobile jio, PUBG Mobile unban in India

Recent reports state that PUBG Corporation is in talks with Jio Platforms for the partnership to unban PUBG Mobile and relaunch the game. We can expect a permanent partnership between the companies. The revenue share and localization matter are under discussion and the legal experts are looking onto it.

PUBG is looking at a partner which can help the company navigate through shifting regulations and understanding the nuances of a billion people. While looking into the requirements, Jio Platforms as a game publisher satisfies all the basic requirements. Starting from developers, the monetary status, and popularity it has everything to help PUBG Mobile regain its value in the Indian gaming industry.

Final Thoughts

It is not the first time Jio Platforms is partnering up with PUBG Corp. Earlier they had tied up for the launch of PUBG Lite. Jio users who registered the game got rewards for buying their in-game merchandise.

Until now there’s no comment from either RIL spokesperson or PUBG Corporation regarding the partnership. The talks are still at an early stage and will be confirmed later on. It seems PUBG Corporation isn’t ready to get away from the massive revenue earnings from India. Since the release, the game amassed almost 175 million installations in India alone. This accounts for a quarter of its installations worldwide. To regain its position in the market, PUBG Corp is soon going to find a partner in Jio and comeback into the gaming scenes once again.

A couple of weeks ago as geopolitical tensions escalated at the two Asian giants, the Indian government left no stones unturned to put an outright ban on PUBG mobile and PUBG mobile Lite citing cybersecurity concerns as the reason. The entire gaming community was devastated by the news. Meanwhile, PUBG Corporation is actively monitoring the situation around the recent bans of PUBG Mobile Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG Mobile Lite. It has seen an astounding amount of support for the game from the country’s players and wanted to show their gratitude to the Indian community for their passion and enthusiasm by taking a bold step to facilitate the unban of PUBG Mobile in India.

How did PUBG Corp. respond to the PUBG ban in India?

According to official sources, PUBG Corporation said that they fully understand and respect the measures taken by the government as the privacy and security of players’ data is a top priority for the company. It hopes to work hand and glove with the Indian government to work out a solution that will allow gamers to once again drop into the battlegrounds while aligning with the Indian laws and regulations. The post further says,

In light of recent developments, PUBG Corporation has made the decision to no longer authorize the PUBG MOBILE franchise to Tencent Games in India. Moving forward, PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country. As the company explores ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India in the near future, it is committed to doing so by sustaining a localized and healthy gameplay environment for its fans.

What will be the outcome of PUBG in India?

Therefore taking into account the current situation, PUBG Corporation has made the decision to no longer authorize the PUBG Mobile franchise to Tencent Games in India. Favoring the progress, PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country.

As the company explores ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India in the near future, it is committed to doing so by entrenching a localized and healthy gameplay environment for its fans.

Final Thoughts

Now that PUBG Corporation has decided to no longer authorize the PUBG franchise to Tencent games in India, the gaming community sees it as a smart move by the Korean Company. PUBG Corporation is actively engaged in developing and publishing PUBG Mobile in select territories like PUBG Mobile Korea which is developed by them, the original publishers of PUBG, and is not associated with PUBG Mobile’s global publishers Tencent Games.

This move comes right after Activision parted ways with Tencent for Call of Duty Mobile. Although more than half of Tencent’s game revenue comes from the domestic market, this would definitely be a huge loss for them. What the future holds for them globally is yet to be seen. With FAU-G already announced by n-Core Games set for a late October launch, it is to be seen how soon PUBG Mobile can make a comeback in India after the unban.

On 2nd September, the Government of India chose to ban 118 Chinese apps. The list of banned apps in India had the most popular and famous Battle Royale game PlayerUnknown’s BattleGround Mobile (PUBGM) and PUBG Mobile Lite too. According to the reports and speculations, the game was hugely popular among the youth. With the continuous ban of games, it is gradually hampering the scene of mobile gaming in India. The analysis says that India had 24% users of the game in the entire world, counting around 50 million players and that’s an accountable proportion. The ban had an adverse impact on the entire PUBG Mobile community in India.

PUBG Mobile installations in India
Installation in India

While it violated the rules and privacy policy, it resulted in the ban. The government declared that the app is a threat to national sovereignty and integrity. Well, the controversies had started way earlier when multiple state governments had filed petitions to ban the game. The game was already facing challenges but was on a safe side. But since then it was on the eye of the Central Government till yesterday when they imposed a permanent ban

Impact of the PUBG Mobile ban in India

The moment the ban was imposed in India, Twitter and Facebook started flooding with tweets, posts, memes, and stories about PUBG Mobile, clearly seen that it had a hard impact on fans. The players couldn’t believe it at first until the news spread all over the internet. People started posting farewell statuses and stories on Social Media.

A lot of people showed their dissatisfaction and frustration over the decision of the ban. Well, the game was truly a timepass to keep them busy during the lockdown. Many people are so hooked to this game that it’s really hard for them to spend time. Oh. What a time killer this game was. The majority of people tagged the government’s and Prime Minister’s official Twitter handle to show their frustration and asked tons of questions regarding the ban. This clearly shows how addicted people were to this Battle Royale. Tencent did a good job though.

Public reactions on PUBG Mobile ban
Some Public Reactions On Twitter

Well, in addition to it Tencent Games recently changed its privacy policy and terms & conditions to avoid the ban but unfortunately, it was of no use.

PUBGM was not only a game, but it was also a full time earning platform for streamers. Yes, the streamers earned a lot of money by live-streaming the game and posting regular videos on it. Besides that, they receive donations from the viewers. The ban has left them clueless now. Famous streamers like Mortal, Dynamo, etc. have given their views and opinions about the game. How it’s going to affect them and other streamers who considered streaming as their only source of income. Though they are really sad and worried they still support the decision of the Government.

Is it going to affect the esports in India?

The release of PUBG Mobile since 2018 had changed the Indian esports scene. The game played an active role in encouraging and enhancing the esports opportunity among the youth. In 2018, when Jio 4G network launched, most gamers shifted to online gaming, and PUBGM at the very moment boosted it on a very significant scale. PUBG Mobile India series 2020 is scheduled later this year. With an amount of ₹55 Lakh as the prize pool with a huge player base, sponsors, and investment from both domestic and international sources. This amount really hyped those PUBGM hooked youth to take the game more seriously.

If the information is correct then there’s no game which had taken such big popularity in the Indian eSports history and to offer such a hefty amount as the prize. With the ban imposed on PUBG Mobile, the E-sport segment in India will drastically deteriorate.

PUBG Mobile is more than just a game

For some people, it was a means of timepass but for some, it had become a dangerous addiction. Recently, the World Health Organisation has identified PUBGM as a real mental health altering game. There have been a lot of cases submitted regarding the negative side effects due to the game. Many people committed suicide for losing a game, they skipped meals, and had extreme physical and mental health issue. Many suffer from depression and insomnia. And there is shocking news of a 16-year-old kid, trying to get ransom from his parents by faking his own kidnapping. Day by day the situation was going worse in many parts of the country and it was really a matter of concern. It’s now a concern for the parents for their children’s growing addiction.

Apart from all the pros and cons, it had become an emotion for many gamers. After the ban, many players came forward and expressed how the game changed their life, how it helped in coping with their depression, and cheered them in their hard times. For them, it was not only a mere game but a part and parcel of their life. It’s a very hard time for them. Not only gamers are suffering but the company is itself facing a huge loss.

Effect of the ban on Tencent Games and China

According to various sources and research, we fond out that Tencent Games is lost $14 Billion in the market share. It is the biggest loss the company ever had. The world’s biggest Video Game Vendor is having its unimaginable loss by getting banned in India. Recently, Tencent Games hit a lifetime revenue of $3 Billion as per the Sensor Tower reports. The impact of the PUBG Mobile ban in India is real, and the developers could feel the heat.

PUBG Mobile revenue in India
The company had huge gains in this lockdown period

It’s clear now, China is getting benefited from the users in India. The Chinese Government couldn’t handle the loss, which is clearly seen when their government reacted to the ban imposed by the Indian Government. The spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce told their media that

India’s action not only harms the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese investors and services providers but also harms the interests of Indian consumers while doing damage to India’s investment climate as an open economy

Because its ultimately affecting their country’s economy.

New Opportunities and Plans for the future

Apart from all this, there’s a good opportunity too. As we all know that PUBG Mobile had dominated the Battle Royale genre since its release, it had become a barrier for the new game developers. No matter, a new game of a particular genre was released, it failed to become popular. Many developers gave up hopes on creating games in this category because PUBGM had so much influence on the gamers that the news games couldn’t get enough player base. If there’s no player base then the game is pretty dead. But now there’s a big opportunity for devs to create something new.

The Indian Government has already launched an initiative called “Atma Nirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge’’. This could be the best chance for the devs to show their work and come out with an Indian alternative for PUBGM.

FAU-G: Already a new rival to PUBG Mobile?

A day after the ban, they are all set with a desi version of PUBG Mobile called FAU-G. This game is made by Indian developer “n-Core Games“. The game is actively promoted by the Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, and the game comes under the banner of the Atma Nirbhar App Innovation Challenge and the developer even promises to donate 20% of the revenue generated to a trust named Bharat Ke Veer. Also, the recent news of confirmation by the developers is that FAU-G will be released by the end of October to mobile devices. A very promising start no doubt. But looks like it is the strategy of the Government to ban PUBG Mobile, to give a push to the games developed in India under the Atma Nirbhar Initiative. Is the government trying to make its initiative a successful one?

Well, it’s worth finding out. Recently the game is caught for copying the cover picture from Shutterstock and the image was also used on a blog post from Fanatical Futurist, and using as its first poster. The game is already receiving a bad impression from the Indian community for such an act. However, we hope the game won’t involve in this mess again and we wish for the best.

The aftermath of the PUBG Mobile ban in India

So, by this, we can judge the aftermath of the PUBG Mobile ban. In all aspects, it’s both good and bad. The positives include that players who were severely addicted will move on and do productive tasks, while streamers will have to switch to other games, which might not attract views as PUBG Mobile used to.

The question is also on how the replacements will fare in comparison to PUBG Mobile, and how they can fill the void created by the ban on the game. However, it is better for the youth and all the PUBG Mobile gamers in the professional scene to accept the fact and wait a bit longer to see the future scenario of the ban.

Why is PUBG Mobile & PUBG Mobile Lite being banned in India?

On September 2, 2020, the Ministry of Electronics & IT of India announced via their official Twitter page that the government of India has banned a total of 118 applications.

The Tweet also contains a link to an official Press Release by the Ministry which contains the full list of all the 118 apps which the Indian government has banned.

The ministry has received many complaints from various sources including several reports about the misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India.

GOVT. OF INDIA OFFICIAL PRESS release

It further elaborates that the ban took place “in the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India and security of the State”.

The press release did not explicitly mention as to who exactly are “misusing” the users’ data from these apps and where exactly are the “servers outside India” located. However, anyone who keeps track of current affairs would know about the existing border tensions between India and China, which even led to a recent shootout resulting in the loss of lives of army personnel for both the countries. The majority of the 188 apps which the Indian government has banned are of Chinese origin. This isn’t the first time the Indian government has banned Chinese apps. A few weeks ago, the Ministry of Electronics & IT of India banned 59 Chinese apps, including popular games like Mobile Legends and Clash of Kings. This particular ban of 188 apps includes games such as PUBG Mobile, PUBG Mobile Lite, Rules of Survival, Arena of Valor, Mafia City, Road of Kings, and many more.

Final thoughts

While a lot of Indians are cheering on this sudden ban, the youth and teenagers are not very happy about it. They have already started voicing their opinions over social media. Many have even voiced their dissent in the Reply section of the Ministry’s tweet itself. PUBG Mobile was the most popular mobile game in India.

The game quickly rose to popularity upon launch and was widely appreciated by the Indian youth, as well as youngsters all over the world. After Pakistan’s ban on the game, it was only a matter of time for the Indian government to follow suit. Now that the Indian government has banned PUBG Mobile, it will largely affect the content creation industry in the country since many of them quickly rose to fame by making content on this game. Only time will tell what effect the ban will have on the youth and teenagers of India, especially amidst the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the arrival in PUBG Mobile, Flacon companion has finally arrived in PUBG Mobile lite. But just like the PUBG Mobile, Falcon can only be unlocked by an event only. And it may come with a high price unless you are lucky. So today in this article we’ll discuss how you can get Falcon companion in PUBG Mobile Lite.

The event is the only way to unlock Falcon in PUBG Mobile Lite

The lucky draw comes with various options like Falcon, Soaring Eagle Set, food for Falcon, Silver etc. And in this lucky draw, if you want to try your luck you need to use BC. One draw will cost 30 BC. However, the first draw of the day will cost on 10%

If you are really looking forward to getting Falcon by spending BC, we’ll suggest you to draw 10 times at a time. That may increase the chance a bit. The odds of getting the items are,

  • Legendary item: 0.5%
  • Epic item: 23.5%
  • Rare item: 760%

In this lucky draw, the Soaring Eagle Set is the only Legendary item. Falcon companion is an epic item. So drawing 10 times at a time will almost give you the falcon unless you are having terrible luck. And please note, the event will last until June 10, 2020. After June 10, you will not get any chance to unlock Falcon unless PUBG Mobile Lite brings the event back.

How to unlock Falcon in PUBG Mobile Lite for free

Sadly, there are no ways to unlock Falcon for free at this moment. But who knows, maybe in the future we may see some ways to get Falcon for free. However, at this moment, if you want to get falcon, you have to spend BC.
