Back in March, we reported about the leaks of COD Mobile World Championship 2020. Now, Activision has revealed the COD Mobile World Championship 2020 Tournament ending all those rumours. This will be a lengthy esports tournament that features more than $1 million in total prizes. And this includes both cash and in-game purchases.
What do we know about COD Mobile World Championship 2020
As the COD Mobile World Championship 2020 is coming soon, let’s check out what are the primary things to know about this much anticipated global competitive tournament.
How to participate in COD Mobile World Championship 2020
To be eligible to participate in the COD Mobile World Championship 2020 Tournament, players need to be ranked veteran or higher in Multiplayer. You’ve still got time to increase your rank before the tournament starts, so get playing. Jump into the Ranked Mode lobby to view your current rank. All players begin their rank at Rookie I, before progressing through several ranks to reach Veteran I.
Players must rank up in Multiplayer, not Battle Royale to be eligible to play.
Stage 1: Open Online Qualifiers (April 30th to May 24th)
The path to the COD Mobile World Championship 2020 global finals begins with four open online qualifiers. Each weekend from April 30th – May 24th UTC, eligible players will have the chance to play to win COD Mobile in-game rewards, and (for the best of the best) individually qualify for Stage 2.
Point System
For each of the four weekends, once you click “Sign Up” in game, the tournament will go live and the first ten ranked matches you play will earn you tournament points.
Tournament points are based on individual wins and your current rank; the higher your rank the more points you receive for a win. If you reach 80 points within the first ten ranked matches in any weekend you qualify on to Stage 2. Players must compete on an eligible handset. They should not use an external device or attachment that modifies the game’s controls (e.g. bluetooth controllers, wired controllers etc.). These cannot be done without the express consent of the Administration. Players may not compete using any desktop emulator. The Administration reserves the right to investigate any Player deemed in violation. Players who are found to be in violation may be disqualified from participating in any future COD Mobile tournaments.
Stage 2 and how it goes further
Stage 2 will require you to form a team out of those players who qualified during Stage 1 and continue to play online matches.
After you’ve mastered the beginning stages of the tournament, players will have a chance to compete for their share of $1 million in total prizes.
The Reward Section
Activision has officially declared the rewards till stage 1 and here they are,
Stage 1 rewards
- Registration Reward
- You’ll earn a Call of Duty: Mobile in-game reward for registering
- Progression Rewards
- You’ll continue to earn in-game rewards as you earn tournament points

- If you qualify to Stage 2 you will earn an additional in-game reward. Each week we will be giving away a new item so make sure to play each weekend.
As the tournament progresses there will be more details on the rewards section for the further stages. And we will update the article.
