After some grueling and intense battles in the virtual battlefield, esports organization Mindfreak has crowned champions of COD Mobile Community Challenge ANZ after taking down IFM and winning the final game by a margin of 3-0. Earlier Mindfreak also beat IFM back in the Winners bracket finals in this Call of Duty Mobile Community Challenge ANZ tournament. Throughout the tournament, Mindfreak dominated every opponent in the playoffs as well as in the Finals.
COD Mobile Community Challenge ANZ: As it happened
Day 1: Round 1 – Upper Bracket
This series was the first to be played in the playoffs in Round 1. Mindfreak faced PridexIvory in this round in the upper bracket consisting of 3 matches.
The first game was set as Hardpoint which was played in Standoff. Mindfreak took an early healthy lead in this game, controlling the map throughout. PridexIvory did fight back in the middle of the game but couldn’t make a comeback. As a result, Mindfreak won the match 1 by a score of 150-98, Keeping PridexIvory under 100 in this match, Mindfreak went up 1-0 in the series.
The second match was a Search and Destroy game held on Raid. Mindfreak absolutely dismantled PridexIvory in this game, winning most of their gunfights and showing off their insane skills. Mindfreak took away game two by a score of 6-0 as they extend their series lead to 2-0 in this series.
The third match was set as Domination which was held on Hackney Yard. Mindfreak took a 23 point lead in the first half of the game with a scoreline of 75-52. A short lead did not matter, as Mindfreak kept extending on PridexIvory and took away match 3 by a score of 150-103. Mind-blowing performance by Mindfreak as they sweep PridexIvory by 3-0 in round 1. After a wonderful performance in this round, Mindfreak aced their way to the Winners Bracket Finals that was played on July 25th, 2021.
Day 2: Winners Bracket Finals
Mindfreak made their way to the Winners Bracket Finals to take on IFM who also, swept their opponent xF by 3-0 in Round 1 Upper Bracket. This series was also a best of 5 series in the tournament.
The first match of the Winners bracket Finals was set as Hardpoint on Hackney Yard. Mindfreak took a huge lead in this game from early on, controlling every Hardpoint and making it impossible for IFM to make a comeback. And as it stood, Mindfreak won the first match by a whopping 118 point lead with a final score of 150-32. As a result of this Mindfreak went up 1-0 in the series.
Match two was a Search and Destroy on Firing Range. IFM surprised Mindfreak in this game, giving them a taste of their own medicine. After going down by 1-0, IFM went on a run to win the next 6 rounds. As IFM took away the match two by a score of 6-1 and tied up the series at 1-1.
Match three was set as Domination on Summit. The game was close throughout as both teams went back and forth in the game, till Mindfreak came back in the clutch to take the lead and kept on extending. Mindfreak won the third game by a score of 150-107, yet again leading the series 2-1.
The fourth match was the second Hardpoint game of the series, on Standoff. Mindfreak took a huge lead at the start of the game. Though IFM tried to come back, they could not handle Mindfreak’s control. Mindfreak won match four with a score of 150-90. As a result of this win, they won the Winners Bracket Finals by 3-1 and advanced to the Grand Finals.
Grand Finals
After a great performance by Mindfreak in the Winners Bracket Finals, beating IFM, both the teams faced each other again in the Grand Finals. IFM won the Losers Bracket Finals against PridexIvory by 3-1. After their winning performance, the odds for winning the Grand Finals were with Mindfreak.
The opening match was set as Hardpoint on Hackney Yard. The game was close from the first minute itself. But that was temporary, as Mindfreak took control by taking the lead and controlling most of the Hardpoints later on. Mindfreak took away the first match by the score of 150-79 and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
The second match was Search and Destroy on Raid. Mindfreak absolutely destroyed IFM’s defense in this game. They went on to win gunfights and controlling the targets very easily. Mindfreak won the second game in a row by a score of 6-1 and extended the lead in this series by 2-0.
The third match was Domination on Standoff. This was a nail-biting game as IFM took a healthy lead in the first half, 75-44. Just at the start of the second half, Mindfreak came back in the clutch going on a run to take the lead and absolutely taking control of the match. As IFM blew 30 plus point lead which was their only hope at winning this game. Mindfreak won the final match with a score of 150-127. So, after winning all the matches in the Grand Finals, Mindfreak was rightly crowned the champions of COD Mobile Community Challenge ANZ.

After a spectacular performance in all the matches of the tournament, Mindfreak came out to be victorious by 3-0. A great comeback in the final match was in the cards for Mindfreak as well. Maintaining a whopping record of 9-2 throughout the tournament, Mindfreak was crowned champions of the tournament and took home a prize pool of $3K (AUD).
