Take the role of Alex and explore the abandoned military island, Edwards Island
Players take on the role of Alex, a bright, rebellious adolescent who brings her new stepbrother Jonas to an overnight party on Edwards Island, an abandoned military island, in OXENFREE. When the group of friends unwittingly opens a ghostly rift spawned from the island’s cryptic past, the night takes a terrifying turn. Through critical dialogue choices, players shape every aspect of Alex’s story while exploring Edwards Island. What’s simmering just beneath Edwards Island’s hauntingly beautiful veneer will forever alter the future and the past.
“OXENFREE is such a special game to so many people, and launching on Netflix is a really exciting opportunity for us to introduce Alex’s story to even more people – maybe even someone who never thought they’d love playing a game,” said Sean Krankel, Night School Studio’s co-founder and studio director.
He further added, “We have the best support as a Netflix games studio to bring OXENFREE: Netflix Edition to a global audience”. For a long time, our community has asked for subtitles in additional languages. And this release of OXENFREE: Netflix Edition truly delivers the best narrative experience for players worldwide in their native language.”
OXENFREE: Netflix Edition is now available for mobile download at netflix.com/oxenfree. Members who have yet to try Netflix games can download the Netflix app from Google Play and App Store.
