Oleksandr Kostyliev, better known by his CSGO game-name “S1mple” is set to be immortalized as a legendary champion in Raid Shadow Legends, the turn-based role-playing video game for mobile. The announcement was made by Natus Vincere or NaVi, CS: GO team of S1mple. In this article, we will be talking about the introduction of S1mple and his latest collaboration with Raid Shadow Legends.
S1mple: A legend makes his mark
S1mple is considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The Ukrainian started his Counter-Strike Journey by playing his first Counter-Strike game at just the age of 4. Once he became hooked on the series, he picked up CS: GO at its launch in 2012 and joined his first professional team a year later in 2013.
Despite gaining a reputation for being toxic and rude in his formative years as a professional CS: GO player, S1mple fought hard to grow through the ranks and eventually garnered the respect of being one of the favourites in the CS: GO scene and wider ESports community.
S1mple joined NaVi from the North American team Team Liquid in 2016. NaVi found quick success with Team Liquid’s S1mple by winning ESL One: New York 2016. Over the years, NaVi has established itself as one of the best squads in CS: GO, with S1mple being at the forefront of their many recent successes.
Big win for Raid: Shadow Legends
The move to immortalize S1mple as a character is undoubtedly a big win for Raid: Shadow Legends. What’s more, is that the character will be usable in all game modes. It will be available for free to every player, provided that they have played for a period of 7 days across two months. Generally, public figures are immortalized as skins rather than fully-playable characters. Therefore, this is undoubtedly an ambitious move from Plarium Games.
