Genshin Impact has introduced a brand new patch Version 4.6 Two Worlds Aflame, the Crimson Night Fades releasing the last expansion of the region Fontaine, and with it comes an assortment of new classes of bosses and enemies to defeat and farm materials.

The enemies discussed today can be farmed by following the Adventurer’s Handbook. The new mobs are all classified as high-tier Elite enemies. This means it may prove to be difficult to fight especially if the bosses are put in the Spiral Abyss. In this guide, we will give tips and tricks to navigate and defeat the new enemies of Version 4.6 in Genshin Impact.

How to defeat new enemies in Genshin Impact Version 4.6

Here we have listed the new enemies in the Genshin Impact version 4.6 update with tips to defeat them.

Fatui Operatives

What is Bond of Life

In combat, these enemies will use the Hunt Down skill to attach a Life Bond to characters they hit. While Life Bond is active, the character will take continuous DMG, and Hunt Down will deal more DMG to them.

Fatui Operatives: Wind Operative

An elite agent among the Fatui. “Operatives” have no ordinary military rank among the Fatui. Based on their orders and the content of their missions, they can work in concert with other soldiers, work alone, or in tandem with the “tacks” hidden and scattered across the world.

Genshin Impact Version 4.6 enemies

They spy, conduct counter-espionage, protect, assassinate, and conduct other tasks. To effectively carry out missions of a more special nature, “Operatives” also need to master all kinds of other skills and even various arts and talents.

  • Materials Dropped: Old Operative’s Pocket Watch, Operative’s Standard Pocket Watch, Operative’s Constancy
  • Classification: Fatui Operatives
  • Damage inflicted: Anemo

Attack Patterns and Abilities

  • Fakeout: Raises a barrier in front of herself. If attacked from the front while the barrier is active, the DMG deal will be nullified and the Operative will teleport to the player’s location and strike down with her cane, dealing Anemo DMG. The strike-down can also be triggered if the Wind Operative is attacked multiple times.
  • Spikefield: Marks an area around the player and deals Anemo DMG in that area.
  • Galeshot: Consecutively fires 1, 1, and 2 wind orbs at the player. Each orb deals 50% ATK in the first 2 waves and 60% ATK in the final wave respectively as Anemo DMG on hit. If the player gets too close during the first shot, the Wind Operative will follow up with Spikefield.

Hunt Down: Sacrifices 5% of her Max HP (or 25% of current HP if HP percentage is under 20%) to initiate Hunt Down: Locks onto the player, teleports her cane above the player which then strikes down, dealing Anemo DMG.

  • If the first hit connects, the cane will then release a wind blast, dealing 100% ATK as Anemo DMG.
  • If the player is hit by the first hit of this attack, they will receive a Life Bond equal to 16% of the Operative’s ATK.
  • As long as this Life Bond is active, it will also be affected by a Corrosion status which drains 0.4% Max HP + 72 every second.
  • If the affected character is off-field, they cannot be brought below 5% Max HP by this Corrosion. However, on-field characters can die.
  • If the Hunt Down attack hits a character affected by this Life Bond, it will deal 250% of its original DMG. This Life Bond is stackable. This Life Bond lasts for 10 minutes if not cleared.

Fatui Operatives: Frost Operative

An elite agent among the Fatui. Selected while still children, they can only become an “Operative” after many long years of training and teaching, after countless rounds have winnowed the field. They are the most outstanding soldiers among the Fatui, with extraordinary skill and unswerving loyalty.

  • Materials Dropped: Old Operative’s Pocket Watch, Operative’s Standard Pocket Watch, Operative’s Constancy
  • Classification: Fatui Operatives
  • Damage inflicted: Cryo

Attack Patterns and Abilities

  • Blinkchase: Teleports near the player and thrusts forward, dealing Cryo DMG.
  • Spinslash: Performs a spinning slash, dealing Cryo DMG.
  • Swiftblade: Performs a cross slash, fires an ice blast, and performs a blackflip slash, dealing Cryo DMG.

Hunt Down: Sacrifices 5% of her Max HP (or 25% of current HP if HP percentage is under 20%) to initiate Hunt Down: Locks onto the player, teleports her cane above the player which then strikes down, dealing Cryo DMG.

  • If the first hit connects, the cane will then release a wind blast, dealing 100% ATK as Cryo DMG.

How to defeat Wind Operative/Frost Operative in Genshin Impact Version 4.6

To defeat the Wind and Frost Operative, focus on exploiting weaknesses by attacking from behind or using abilities that penetrate barriers, while staying mobile to avoid Spikefield and Galeshot attacks. Make use of i-frames and dash accordingly to dodge the attacks.

Coordinate with a balanced team, prioritize clearing the Life Bond debuff inflicted by her Hunt Down ability, and capitalize on openings to deal significant damage. Against the Frost Operative, break her Glacial Barrier quickly, and interrupt her attacks with crowd control abilities. The best way to remove the Bond of Life is to heal yourself from the debuff.

Xuanwen Beast

Xuanwen Beasts, named for the dark patterns on their bodies, are fierce creatures that inhabit the mountains of Chenyu Vale. In the region’s folklore, these beasts were the servants of an Adeptus in ancient times, tasked with vanquishing evil and protecting the region. However, they devolved into brutal creatures after Adeptus passed away.

Genshin Impact Version 4.6 enemies
Image via HoYoverse

These legends cannot be verified, and no one knows the true identity of this Adeptus. This much is for sure, however — one should stay away from these aggressive creatures for one’s safety. For over a thousand years, these beasts have lost a tremendous amount of territory that once belonged to them to relentless human encroachment. These days, they can only occasionally be spotted in the remote mountains of Chenyu Vale.

  • Materials Dropped: Feathery Fin, Lunar Fin, Chasmlight Fin
  • Classification: Mystical Beasts
  • Damage inflicted: Anemo & Hydro

Attack Patterns and Abilities

  • Double Swipe: Swipes its claws for two melee strikes, dealing Anemo DMG
  • Charged Swipe: Forms a vortex around its claw and performs a single swipe, dealing Anemo DMG
  • Windblade: Performs a flip, launching a wind blade from its tail towards the player, Anemo DMG on hit.
  • Orb Volley: Conjures 4 water orbs and fires them at the player, each dealing Hydro DMG on hit.
  • Chase: If the player is far away, charges at the player and attacks twice with its claws, dealing Anemo DMG.

How to defeat Xuanwen Beast in Genshin Impact Version 4.6

The beast moves very quickly, slashing and making swift attacks on your character. Make use of i-frames and dashes to maneuver yourself from the attacks. The Xuanwen Beast has high Hydro and Anemo resistance so it’s best to use other Elements besides these. The most effective way to deal with the mob is to use Elemental Reactions to freeze it and use Shatter, Melt, and other Elemental Reactions to break the ice, rendering it immobile temporarily.

Praetorian Golem

Genshin Impact Version 4.6 enemies
Image via HoYoverse

A moving statue shaped like a warrior who will swing their sword at all who dare trespass upon the area under their guardianship. It is unclear if it is a soul or magic that powers them. They say that legions of golems once conquered the nations that called the High Sea home, and this might have been among their number. The great towers and palaces that now sleep beneath the waves once bore witness to the fate of those who stand in the path of the wheel of fate.

  • Materials Dropped: Ruined Hilt, Splintered Hilt, Still-Smoldering Hilt
  • Classification: Mystical Beasts
  • Damage inflicted: Pyro & Geo

Attack Patterns and Abilities

The Praetorian Golem is protected by a Geo shield that increases its resistance to all DMG by 50%. The shield is weakest against Blunt Attacks. If the shield is destroyed, the Praetorian Golem will become paralyzed for 8 seconds before regaining its shield.

  • Double Swing: Swings its greatsword twice, dealing Pyro DMG.
  • Triple Swing: Performs three spinning slashes, dealing Pyro DMG.
  • Downward Cleave: Charges towards the player if far away. Cleaves down with its greatsword, dealing Pyro DMG.
  • Heatblade: Slashes downward to launch a vertical blade at the player, dealing Pyro DMG on hit.
  • Heated Field: Inserts its greatsword into the ground and creates a field at the player’s location. The field detonates 8 times, dealing 40% ATK for the first 7 detonations and 80% ATK for the final detonation as Pyro DMG.

How to defeat Praetorian Golem in Genshin Impact Version 4.6

Luckily, the size of the boss makes their moveset style slow and pronounced. As such players can effectively dodge their attacks by taking advantage of i-frames and dashing on time. Due to the Geo shield on the enemy, it is best to remove the shield by using blunt attacks (use Claymore attacks or use Geo characters). Once the shield is down the Praetorian Golem will be paralyzed for 8 seconds.

Genshin Impact is a fantasy RPG launched in September 2020. Honkai: Star Rail on the other hand is a fantasy turn-based game launched in April of 2023. Both games have been developed and published by HoYoverse. As we are nearing Honkai: Star Rail’s 1st Anniversary, let’s discuss how both Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail are in comparison.

Introducing Genshin Impact: HoYoverse’s Shot-Up to Succession

In September 2020, Genshin Impact made its debut amidst skepticism within various online communities. Initially dismissed by some as a mere imitation of another prominent RPG, the game defied expectations and soared to unprecedented success.

Its player base skyrocketed, accompanied by a surge in sales for upcoming limited banners. This dramatic rise can be attributed in part to its unexpected release timing amid the pandemic that occurred around the time when many found themselves with plenty of free time at home.

Genshin Impact swiftly became the crown jewel of HoYoverse, generating significant revenue for the company. While its peak popularity may have been observed during 2021-2022, the game has since established itself as a foundation of stability, with a devoted fan community to back it up.

The enduring appeal of the game lies in its captivating storytelling, intricate world-building, diverse character design, and engaging gameplay mechanics. As HoYoverse’s flagship title, Genshin Impact shows no signs of slowing down. Its combination of immersive gameplay elements ensures its continued prosperity in the gaming industry.

Honkai: Star Rail maintained HoYoverse’s successful run

With the resounding success of Genshin Impact, HoYoverse found the push they needed to branch out and delve into the development of more games. Among these successfully launched projects came Honkai: Star Rail, a game that is seamlessly integrated into the Honkai-verse lore. Anticipation ran high among fans with such a release of a game, as it’s evident in the pre-registration numbers that far surpassed even Genshin Impact’s initial figures.

The fervent support from the fanbase translated into a swift embrace of Star Rail upon its release. Despite its departure from the real-time mechanics of Genshin Impact, being a turn-based game, fans were drawn instead to its captivating storytelling, striking character designs, and the appeal of playing a fresh new HoYoverse game.

The timing of Honkai: Star Rail’s launch in April 2023 couldn’t have been more fitting as Genshin Impact faced a content drought. Many of the fans expressed feelings of burnout and a lack of enjoyment. This circumstance further propelled fans toward Star Rail, providing a welcome alternative.

Fan Community Concerns: Genshin Impact vs. Honkai: Star Rail

Let’s take a deep dive into the Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail comparison many fans have expressed.

1. End-Game Content

In Honkai: Star Rail, players are treated to an array of engaging endgame content, ensuring ample replayability. Despite its relatively young running time of just under a year, the game consistently rolls out challenging combat-focused content tailored for mid-to-late-game players. Notable examples include the Simulated Universe with Gold and Gears and Swarm Disaster, along with the Memory of Chaos.

On the other hand, Genshin Impact, having matured over the past three years, finds itself predominantly inhabited by many veterans who started around 2021-2022. Many of these players have expressed a desire for enhancements to the existing endgame content such as the Spiral Abyss.

Players expressed a desire for fresh new combat-focused challenges where their meticulously curated roster of characters can truly shine in the field. However, disappointingly, there has been a noticeable absence of updates or announcements from the developers regarding any new additions to satisfy this growing demand.

QoL System

The Quality of Life (QoL) improvements in Honkai: Star Rail has consistently outshone those in Genshin Impact with each patch update. While Genshin Impact introduces new characters, regions, and boss fights, the continuous influx of content can make farming for materials and artifacts feel overwhelming. Fortunately, Honkai: Star Rail offers a more relaxed farming experience, thanks to its QoL updates that have been consistently rolled out each patch.

For instance, players can convert their character material, re-roll all released Relics, and engage in the same boss battles up to three times without hassle. However, a major concern among Genshin Impact players remains, which is the Resin system. Locked at 160 resin for years, with a maximum of 5 condensed resin only made, it constrains gameplay and resource management.

In stark contrast, Honkai: Star Rail introduces Trailblaze Power, its equivalent of Resin, which has been generously increased to 240. Furthermore, the game features Reserved Trailblaze Power, akin to condensed resin, allowing players to accumulate excess TP beyond the cap. This affords a more leisurely gameplay experience, as players can let resin accumulate without fear of waste.

Leniency in Obtainable Characters

Moreover, Honkai Star Rail offers a more player-friendly approach to obtaining characters and light cones compared to Genshin Impact. In Honkai: Star Rail, players can secure a guaranteed Permanent 5-Star character from the Beginner’s Banner after 50 pulls, along with the flexibility to select a 5-Star character of their choice from the Standard Banner after 300 pulls.

Honkai Star Rail Hanya Banner

One particular note is the Light Cone banners, which deviate from the conventional 50/50 chance distribution. Instead, Honkai: Star Rail adopts a more favorable 75/25 chance ratio, significantly increasing the likelihood of obtaining the limited Light Cone featured in the banner.

Even if players miss out on this opportunity, they are assured of obtaining the guaranteed Light Cone in their next 5-Star pull. This stands in stark contrast to Genshin Impact’s Weapon Banner, where players must endure two losses in the 50/50 chance scenario to secure the guaranteed 5-Star limited weapon.

Balancing Criticism: Over-reaction or Justifiable Concerns

There is an obvious power system at play in both games, characterized by the different types of Elements and the game mechanics at play. However, a notable criticism voiced by fans revolves around the perceived abundance of in-game currency, such as Stellar Jades in Honkai: Star Rail, and Star Rail Special Pass (comparable to Intertwined Fates in Genshin Impact), in contrast to Genshin Impact’s reward system.

While it’s tempting to envy Star Rail’s generous reward system, players mustn’t draw direct comparisons with Genshin Impact. The fundamental reason lies in the ever-evolving META of Star Rail, which introduces two new limited 5-Star characters and one 4-Star character with each patch released.

This rapid character release schedule often overwhelms players, making it challenging to keep pace with acquiring the latest additions to their roster. Consequently, older characters risk becoming overshadowed by their newer counterparts.

Honkai Star Rail Memory of Chaos
Image via HoYoverse

In light of this dynamic environment, the provision of such a hefty reward system serves as a compensatory measure, giving the players the ability to obtain the newly released characters.

This approach acknowledges the inherent volatility of Star Rail’s META and seeks to alleviate the pressure on players striving to play the endgame combat-heavy content in the game (Simulated Universe, Memory of Chaos, etc.). Thus, while the disparity in reward quantity between the two games may seem glaring, it reflects the unique demands posed by each game’s gameplay and setting.

Final Thoughts

The fan community finds itself deeply divided over HoYoverse’s disparate treatment of its games. While a significant portion of fans directs heightened criticism towards Genshin Impact, particularly in light of the contrasting generosity displayed in Version 2.1 of Honkai: Star Rail for its first anniversary, it’s essential to recognize the fundamental distinctions between the two titles.

Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail offers unique gaming experiences, each characterized by distinct combat systems, narrative arcs, and mechanics. Attempting to scrutinize and compare them under the same lens proves futile and ultimately detracts from appreciating their merits.

Genshin Impact will release their latest patch update, Version 4.6 “Blades Weaving Betwixt Brocade” on the 13th of March, 2024. The new update is a much-needed filler patch after the back-to-back map expansion and main quest lore drops. We can now sit back and enjoy ourselves in Fontaine with some previously met friends from Inazuma. The new patch is bound to have an abundance of Primogems in store for us. Free-to-play players should take advantage of the new update and collect those free Primogems. This guide provides the players with a rough estimate of how many free Primogems any individual may obtain if they play all the contents of the Genshin Impact 4.6 update.

How to get free Primogems with Genshin Impact 4.6 Update

1. Daily Commissions

daily commissions

The 4.6 patch will run for six whole weeks as usual. Players can gain 60 Primogems for a total of 42 days if they complete their commissions on time before the daily reset hits. A total of 2520 Primogems (42 x 60) can be obtained

2. Spiral Abyss

The Spiral Abyss resets every 15 days from Floor 8 to Floor 12. Each Floor has 3 Chambers where they reward you with 50 Primogems if the player can finish the challenges on time (so the players can obtain 150 Primogems every Floor). A total of 600 Primogems are given each Spiral Abyss rotation. The Abyss will reset about three times during the 4.6 patch meaning you can obtain a total of 1800 Primogems (600 x 2).

3. Paimon’s Bargains (Stardust Exchange)

In the Paimon’s Bargains Shop, there is a section called Stardust Exchange where players can purchase a total of 5 Acquaint Fates and 5 Intertwined Fates in exchange for Stardust (which is obtained by Wishing).

The Shop resets every month on the first day of the week so make sure you buy the Fates before that. According to the patch timeline, players can obtain 10 Intertwined Fates (1600 Primogems) in the update during the April 2024 and May 2024 reset.

4. HoYoLAB Daily Check-In

Genshin Impact has a Daily Check-In reward system each month at their HoYoLAB website where players can obtain a total of 80 primogems just by checking in the HoYoLAB App or Website. Tip: Players don’t need to complete the whole month to acquire 80 primogems each, only check in for 18 days straight.

5. Genshin Impact Version 4.6 Update Compensation

When a new patch update hits, Genshin Impact takes a few hours (mainly around 5 hours) for maintenance of the update. After maintenance is done, players can log in to enjoy the fresh new patch update and also receive compensation in their Mail for the maintenance (600 primogems). Be warned that players should claim this mail during the update or else it will expire.

6. Genshin Impact Version 4.6 Livestream

To bring excitement and hype around new updates, Genshin Impact usually hosts a Livestream for the upcoming patch and reveals bits through trailers and discussions. During the Livestream, they bring out three Codes to redeem where each code rewards you with 100 primogems. A total of 300 primogems can be obtained. Be sure to redeem the codes as soon as possible as they expire after 24 hours or less.

7. Test Runs

Each five-star they run banners for during the updates has a Test Run where players can check out the playable characters and how they function. After completing the Test Runs, players can claim 20 Primogems plus ascension materials for said characters.

The new limited character, Navia, and the re-run characters, Kamisato Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Raiden Shogun, will be having their re-run banners during the 4.6 updates hence a total of 80 Primogems can be obtained.

8. Permanent Story and Archons Quests

A new update means new Quests to complete whether they are World Quests, Archon Quests, Story Quests, or a simple Hangout quest. The new 4.6 update has an abundance of quest content that players can fully play and immerse themselves into the story. Each Story and Archon Quest gives us 60 Primogems whereas World Quests vary in terms of content. Here is a complete breakdown of the new quests and the estimated Primogems that players can receive from this permanent content:

  • Genshin Impact Arlecchino Story Quest (120 Primogems)

9. Achievements

More achievement tasks are added to the new update of the game, including a whole new Achievement Category due to the new Region, Quests, and Exploration points being added in the game as well as other additions to the expansion which entails more achievements. Completing them all would result in obtaining a total of 295 Primogems.

10. Limited Events

Here is a list of all the limited events we will be getting during the 4.6 update patch:

  • Arataki’s Tour de Force of Awesomeness
  • Specially-Shaped Saurian Search

Genshin Impact Version 4.5 update has brought a new set of enemies for both Floor 12 in the Spiral Abyss. Since these are the topmost floors of the Abyss, ensure that you have units that are at least sufficiently built for the teams they are in. In this guide, we will explain the new changes in the current Spiral Abyss, how to clear them in the current Genshin Impact 4.5 patch update, and the most optimal teams that can be used.

Genshin Impact 4.5 Update Spiral Abyss Guide: How to clear Floor 12

Ley Line Disorders: For this floor only, the Let Line flow will be normal.

    Chamber 1

Genshin Impact 4.5 Spiral Abyss Floor 12
    Image via HoYoverse

    First Half

    • In the first wave, all enemies materialize in the front area, and priority lies in dismantling the Pyro shield wielded by the Mage initially. Once this shield is shattered, attention shifts to the Dendro Primus, especially when they enter a stressed state, acquiring a Dendro shield and launching waves of Lushmissiles, each inflicting considerable Dendro damage. Swift removal of this shield is imperative to safeguard your characters from peril unless they possess formidable shields akin to Zhongli’s.
    • The most effective methods for removing this shield include: (1) employing a single Arkhe attack, (2) utilizing Electro attacks, (3) employing Hydro attacks, or (4) utilizing Pyro attacks. It’s crucial to note the high Dendro resistance of these Primus, particularly when employing Dendro DPS. Once all enemies are devoid of shields, focus on eliminating them concurrently.
    • In the second wave, Operatives emerge at the front area. Prioritize engaging the Wind Operative on the left rather than the Frost Operative. This is because the Frost Operative often employs the Blinkchase skill, propelling her towards you. By concentrating on the Wind Operative, you can corral both enemies to the same location. While the Wind Operative occasionally utilizes a teleport skill, its occurrence is less frequent and subject to RNG.
    • Vigilance is essential to evade their Hunt Down skill, which affixes a Bond of Life to affected characters. This skill sacrifices a percentage of the Operative’s HP to lock onto the player, inflicting Corrosion status and escalating damage upon subsequent hits. To counteract these effects, prompt removal of debuffs and immediate healing, ideally facilitated by cleansers like Jean or Bennett, is recommended. Additionally, monitoring both Operatives is crucial to prevent the stacking of Bond of Life debuffs, which hinder healing and amplify subsequent damage.

    Second Half

    • In the first and only wave, you’ll face off against the formidable Jadeplume Terrorshroom. As the challenge commences, ensure you position yourself within Jadeplume’s attack range if you’ve brought melee DPS. Most of its attacks are short-range, allowing you to dodge and avoid taking damage. Alternatively, if you’ve enlisted a shielder or healer, you can hasten the battle’s conclusion by relentlessly assaulting Jadeplume.
    • Jadeplume possesses three distinct states: Normal, Activated, and Scorched. In its Normal state, it functions in its default form. The Activated state occurs when the Fury bar beneath its HP is filled by Electro attacks from your characters. While in the Activated state, Jadeplume adopts different attack modes but eventually succumbs to paralysis from exhaustion for 15 seconds.
    • The Scorched state arises when Jadeplume is affected by Burning (Dendro + Pyro). While this state isn’t particularly troublesome, beware of its skill that can summon up to four Fungi, consuming valuable time in the challenge. Both states have their merits, so choose the one that best suits your team. When Jadeplume is in the Activated state, exercise caution and precise evasion to avoid its potent attacks. Instead, wait until it’s paralyzed before unleashing your onslaught.
    • To counter the Scorched state and prevent the spawning of Fungi spores, swiftly destroy the spores with Electro, Hydro, or Pyro attacks within three seconds of their appearance. Any of the mentioned elemental AoE attacks are effective here, including Bennett’s skill.

    Chamber 2

Genshin Impact 4.5 Spiral Abyss Floor 12
    Image via HoYoverse

    First Half

    • In the first wave, you’ll find yourself surrounded by 6 Specters in the central arena. Bringing along AoE DPS characters allows you to target multiple Specters simultaneously. It’s advantageous to have an Anemo crowd control (CC) character to corral the Specters and prevent them from teleporting or evading your attacks. Prioritize dealing with the Specters in the back area, and if feasible, lure those in the front towards the back to prepare for the next wave.
    • Keep in mind that Specters are immune to their elements, so ensure you bring at least one element different from all of them to effectively trigger reactions that can harm them (such as Hydro).
    • In the second wave, 3 Whopperflowers emerge at the back area, allowing you to promptly engage them. Alternatively, you can move to the front area, prompting the Whopperflowers to burrow underground and appear there, preparing for the next wave.
    • In the third wave, enemies spawn near each other at the front of the arena. Quickly rush to the front and prioritize eliminating the Line Breaker first (the blue one). Their skill charges ahead, often separating them from the group. With the other enemies grouped, collateral damage should help whittle down their health, particularly the tanky Rockbreaker Ax with the highest HP. Once the Line Breaker is dealt with, focus on defeating the big boss Rockbreaker Ax, which also boasts high HP and tends to protect its offspring.
    • Bringing along an Anemo CC character can streamline these strategies, as the Specters can be easily gathered using the Anemo Vortex.
    • I don’t recommend bringing a shielder or Physical character, as any Shadowy Husk or Black Serpent attacks on shielded characters grant buffs to themselves and nearby Husks at the cost of losing some health. Additionally, these enemies have resistance against Physical attacks.
    • Each enemy type in the wave possesses distinct abilities: Line Breaker (Hydro): Heals themselves and nearby Husks. Standard Bearer (Pyro): Generates a Pyro shield for themselves and nearby Husks. Defender (Cryo): Their bow acts as a shield, blocking attacks from the front.
    • Rockbreaker Ax: Enters a state that increases its ATK by 20% and resistance by 50%.

    Second Half

    • In this scenario, you’ll be facing the Perpetual Mechanical Array boss in a single-wave encounter. Your optimal strategy involves employing a single-target Elemental DPS character to efficiently dismantle this formidable foe. Keep in mind that this cube boss boasts a significant 70% Physical Resistance.
    • While most of its attacks are easily avoidable, the challenge intensifies when the boss’s HP drops below the 50% mark, triggering Defensive Mode. During this phase, the boss summons four Ruin Sentinels: Scout, Defender, Destroyer, and Cruiser. Focus your attacks solely on the highlighted Sentinel, ideally baiting it to draw near to the boss. Attacking any other Sentinel would be a wasteful expenditure of your resources.
    • Once you defeat the highlighted Sentinel, the boss will be paralyzed for approximately 20 seconds, during which its resistance is lowered by 50%. Seize this opportune moment to unleash all your Skills and Bursts. Following the paralysis, the boss briefly becomes invincible before reverting to its normal attack patterns. Utilize this cycle to your advantage for a successful takedown.

    Chamber 3

Genshin Impact 4.5 Spiral Abyss Floor 12
    Image via HoYoverse

    First Half

    • In this singular wave encounter, you’ll face the formidable boss “Icewind Suite,” embodied by Coppelia, the female counterpart notorious for dealing predominantly Cryo damage. Coppelia belongs to the Ousia-type category and can be temporarily paralyzed by three Pneuma attacks: Furina, Lyney, and Neuvillette, but only during its Climax phase.
    • While Coppelia’s attacks encompass a blend of Anemo and Cryo damage, these can typically be evaded as you would in the open world or mitigated with a sturdy shield. However, your primary focus should be on Coppelia’s Climax, which initiates at the onset of the fight. Coppelia and its counterpart, Coppelius, will converge at the center of the arena to unleash the Climax: generating three Whirlwinds of Dirge that periodically discharge blasts inflicting Anemo damage (alongside Cryo damage if infused with Coppelius’s ice blades). These Frosthearts cannot be destroyed, so it’s imperative to disregard them and concentrate your efforts on Coppelia.
    • Throughout the Climax phase, both Coppelia and Coppelius will exhibit a 25% resistance to all damage. However, you can disrupt the Climax sequence and temporarily paralyze the duo by striking Coppelia’s exposed core thrice with Pneuma Attacks. Furthermore, upon each Pneuma attack, the pulses of wind emanating from Coppelia will have a reduced area of effect and inflict only 60% of their original damage.

    Second Half

    • In this single-wave encounter, you’ll face the formidable Veteran Arithmetic Enhancer Mek for the first time. While you may have encountered this enemy as a Local Legend in Fontaine, its skills remain consistent.
    • As an Ousia-type adversary, the Mek can be stunned briefly by striking it with Pneuma attacks while it’s not shielded. However, it boasts a Geo shield that bolsters its defenses, granting a 200% increase to all resistances. This shield is most vulnerable to Blunt Attacks, such as Claymore strikes, Plunging attacks, and the majority of Geo damage. Once destroyed, the shield will regenerate over time.
    • Additionally, the Mek emanates a Gravity Reduction Field, enhancing the jumping height of nearby characters while its Arkhe is active. Beware of its Gravity Ripple attack, which periodically sends out shockwaves that expand outward, dealing Geo damage upon impact. Unlike sprint i-frames, jumping is the recommended evasion method for this attack, unless you have a sturdy shield to absorb the considerable damage it inflicts.
    • While the Mek’s other attacks are more manageable, your primary focus should be on removing its Geo shield swiftly. Once depleted, unleash a relentless assault to incapacitate it before it can regenerate another shield. Swift and decisive action is key to overcoming this formidable adversary.

Optimal Team Comps to use on Floor 12 in Genshin Impact 4.5 Update Spiral Abyss

In the First Half, you’ll encounter a variety of mobs in all chambers except for chamber 3. This calls for both AoE and single-target DPS characters to be effective. However, it is recommended to prioritize a single-target DPS character equipped with Anemo crowd control capabilities. While most elemental compositions work well, it’s important to avoid using Cryo due to the high Cryo resistance of Coppelia in the 3rd chamber, and Physical due to the high Physical resistance of the Black Serpent Knight in the 2nd chamber.

Furthermore, it’s advisable to refrain from bringing shielder characters and opt for healers instead. Shielded characters may inadvertently trigger buffs for the Black Serpent enemies in the 2nd chamber, albeit at the cost of their health. However, engaging enemies in their buffed state may prove more challenging and ultimately not worth the risk.

In the Second Half, you’ll face a single boss on each floor, making a single-target DPS strategy highly effective. Geo is the element that proves particularly advantageous when facing the Local Legend Meka in the last chamber, thanks to its Geo shield. Geo attacks can effectively dismantle this shield. Additionally, other Blunt attacks, such as claymore strikes and plunging attacks (excluding bow and catalyst), are equally effective. If you include a claymore character in your party, any elemental composition except Dendro and Physical can be utilized effectively in this half.

Genshin Impact Version 4.5 update has brought a new set of enemies for both Floor 11 in the Spiral Abyss.

Genshin Impact 4.5 Update Spiral Abyss Guide: How to clear Floor 11

Ley Line Disorders: All characters in the party gain a 75% Geo DMG Bonus.

    Chamber 1

Genshin Impact 4.5 Spiral Abyss Floor 11
    Image via HoYoverse

    First Half

    • In the initial wave, all foes emerge in the frontal zone. Right from the get-go, the Mitachurl charges towards you with its shield. It’s recommended that you target the advancing Mitachurl and draw the attention of the four Hilichurls. Lead them all towards the rear area because that’s where the next wave will appear.
    • For the second wave, it’s a repeat of the first lineup of enemies, but they spawn at the back. Again, prioritize the Mitachurl as the smaller foes trail after you.
    • In the third wave, enemies appear on both your left and right. Head towards the left and focus on taking down the Samachurl before it erects a Geo construct, affecting all three left-sided enemies. If the pillars are formed, swiftly obliterate them using Geo attacks.
    • Moving to the fourth wave is a redux of the third wave’s enemy lineup (with Cryo Shooter replaced by Electro Shooter), but they appear on the opposite side. Repeat the strategy: concentrate on the Samachurl while the other adversaries pursue you relentlessly.

    Second Half

    • During the first wave, expect all enemies to emerge at the forefront. It’s beneficial to have an Anemo character with crowd-control capabilities since some of the Shrooms tend to leap forward, potentially catching you off guard. However, it’s manageable; as they persistently chase you, you can deal with them one by one.
    • In the second wave, enemies spawn exclusively in the rear area. Each adversary comes equipped with elemental shields, making it advantageous to employ an Anemo character to nullify their defenses. Alternatively, Geo characters excel here due to the ley line disorder and their ability to deplete elemental shields. It is recommended to counter with opposing elements to swiftly dismantle their shields.

    Chamber 2

Genshin Impact 4.5 Spiral Abyss Floor 11
    Image via HoYoverse

    First Half

    • In the initial wave, you’ll find yourself surrounded by Xuanwen Beasts as soon as the challenge begins. Keep in mind that these enemies boast a 50% resistance against Hydro and Anemo, so tread carefully. However, they’re particularly vulnerable to freezing techniques. Freezing a Xuanwen Beast and then following up with Shatter, Melt, Superconduct, Swirl, or Crystallize attacks will dispel the Frozen aura and render them paralyzed.
    • These elite foes are swift movers, making it essential to act fast. It is recommended to maneuver to either the left or right wall and corral them into a single spot (they’re not as easily staggered as Vishaps).
    • In the second wave, adversaries will spawn on both the left and right sides of the arena, emphasizing the importance of positioning near either wall. Upon spawning, the Annihilation Meka will summon a smaller Meka before giving chase, while the Assault Meka will immediately pursue you.
    • Given their Pneuma classification, hitting them with Ousia attacks twice will temporarily immobilize them. However, brute force becomes the primary option if you lack an Ousia-character.

    Second Half

    • In the initial wave, brace yourself for a lone Concentrated enemy positioned in the front area. Sporting a color scheme indicative of its high Dendro resistance, it’s wise to steer clear of bringing a Dendro DPS (and Fire DPS for the subsequent Concentrated enemy).
    • At a certain point, this enemy will summon a Phagocytic Energy Block. It’s imperative to focus your elemental attacks on this block until its bar is filled. This will grant you Phagocytic energy, which you can then use to strike the Concentrated enemy and render it paralyzed. However, if left unattended for too long, the beast will reabsorb the Phagocytic Energy Block and transform into its more formidable Phagocytic Form.
    • Destroying the Phagocytic Energy Block requires either a single Dendro attack or six non-Dendro elemental attacks. Additionally, aside from its high Dendro resistance, this enemy maintains a constant 50% resistance against Freeze, dampening the effectiveness of the Frozen Elemental Reaction.
    • Moving on to the second wave, anticipate encountering another Concentrated enemy in the rear area, this time aligned with Pyro attributes and boasting high Pyro resistance. Similar to its predecessor, utilizing the Phagocytic Energy Block to induce paralysis is advisable.

    Chamber 3

Genshin Impact 4.5 Spiral Abyss Floor 11
    Image via HoYoverse

    First Half

    • In this singular wave, brace yourself as two veteran phantasms emerge side by side in the front area.
    • Both these phantasms mirror the Local Legend encounters found in Fontaine, immediately entering an Enraged State upon spawning and remaining in that state indefinitely. While in this heightened state, their attacks become more potent, and they gain immunity against being Frozen.
    • Of the two, the Water-Spouting phantasm is slightly slower than its counterpart, the Water-Splitting one. At the onset of the challenge, position yourself near the Water-Spouting phantasm on the right side and provoke the Water-Splitting phantasm to chase after you. Once they draw close to each other, focus on dealing damage while evading incoming attacks (unless you possess a shield) to minimize damage taken.
    • Should you manage to defeat one of the phantasms, it will not be resurrected unless you fail to defeat the remaining one within a limited timeframe. So, rest assured, once down, they stay down.

    Second Half

    • In the first and sole wave, all enemies materialize in the front area. As you initiate the challenge, position yourself in the front area and take cover behind the Arithmetic Meka (the central one). This tactic significantly increases the likelihood of swiftly redirecting the attention of the two elite Mekas toward your position instead of them aimlessly roaming around.
    • Once you’ve vanquished the Arithmetic Meka, prioritize targeting the nearest Construction Meka (as corralling them into one spot can be rather unpredictable) before moving on to tackle the remaining one. Since these two are of the elite variety, employing Pneuma attacks twice is necessary to paralyze them. However, if you haven’t brought along any Pneuma attacks, resort to sheer force to overcome them.

Optimal Team Comps to use on Floor 11 in Genshin Impact 4.5 Update Spiral Abyss

For the First Half, every element except Hydro and Anemo (with Geo being the top choice) is recommended. This is primarily due to the presence of Local Legends Phantasm in the 3rd chamber, rendering Hydro DPS ineffective. Additionally, the Xuanwen Beast in the 2nd chamber exhibits high resistance against Hydro and Anemo elements.

Another effective strategy is to include a claymore user in your team. In the 1st chamber, numerous enemies are shielded with rock, and the most efficient method to break through these defenses is by utilizing blunt attacks: claymore strikes, plunging attacks (excluding bow and catalyst), and Geo attacks.

For the Second Half, like the first, most elements work well. However, Pyro and Dendro may have a slight disadvantage because the Consecrated enemies in chamber 2 exhibit a minor resistance to their respective elements in their Phagocytic Form. Nevertheless, if you prefer to use these elements as DPS, it’s still viable as long as you have other elements to trigger reactions. Anemo crowd control isn’t particularly necessary since only the 1st chamber benefits from it. However, if you prefer to include Anemo characters, feel free to do so.

Chiori Story Quest ACT I: In-Depth Review and Discussion

    Chiori’s Characterization and Personality

Chiori first showed up and was introduced in the story during the Film Festival limited event alongside Chevreuse who ended up being acquainted with her, as an intelligence informer and also friends.

Although the limited event was more focused on Chevreuse since she was released as a playable 4-star character during that patch, we still had our first impression upon meeting with Chiori. Before she was introduced to us as the Traveler, we had more information about her through other people’s voice lines.

From what we gathered so far, Chiori is an Inazuman who came here to Fontaine to run her fashion boutique “Chioriya Boutique”. She is an aspiring fashion designer and has quickly gained quite a good reputation among Fontaine people due to her out-of-the-box style of clothing and fashion. Being so as she is, Chiori no doubt has another sort of reputation regarding her personality.

    Genshin Impact Chiori Story Quest
    Image via HoYoverse

As many people, including our observation as the player, have noticed how blunt, sarcastic, and sassy her personality is. While we play through her Story Quest, we can see a deep dive on her real personality and attitude. Some say they find Chiori intimidating due to her demeanor of saying things in a blunt and cut-throat manner, often catching her customers and others surprised.

We can also see this head-strong side of hers where she faces any obstacle or negative situation with ease, taking the initiative to do something about it and not waver from pressure. Chiori’s personality is quite refreshing to witness, as you don’t come across characters like her in Genshin Impact yet.

    Overall Story Plot

Chiori’s story quest was entertaining, to say the least. The story focuses on Chiori as she prepares for the annual Fontaine Fashion Week while also jugging through clients and orders. When we meet Chiori everything seems to go along great till Kirara shows up in a frenzied and anxious manner. Apparently, Chiori has a business rival who targeted Kirara and the supplies Chiori has ordered for Fashion Week.

We then get to see Chiori in action as she scowls from anger and haphazardly confronts the man behind the disturbance, Uther. Chiori straight-up manhandles him and threatens him to stay away from her friend and her boutique.

    Genshin Impact Chiori Story Quest
    Image via HoYoverse

Of course, things did not go well after that fiasco as Chiori faced heaps of backlash bad rumors, and gossip about her clothing brand. Chiori ever the confident and headstrong person she is dismisses the gossip and investigates the case while also preparing for Fashion Week with the obstacles thrown at her. Of course, with added friends helping along her way, she manages to successfully expose Uther while also showcasing her amazing clothing line, all in a day’s work.

    Final Thoughts

The story quest is quite an enjoyable one that we have gotten so far as there are minimal NPC interactions, with playable characters guest-starring in the story quest. It was fun seeing Chiori’s friends and acquaintances all band together to help her with her situation.

Genshin Impact is improving quite a lot in terms of Story Quest as they have finally heard our criticism on the writing of the previously existing Story Quest being lackluster and are constantly improving on making them more enjoyable and engaging.

Genshin Impact Version 4.5 debuts the already established character who was first introduced during Version 4.3the new 5-star Chiori (Geo/Sword). This guide will explain everything about how to build Chiori and play her in her best teams in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Chiori Guide: Abilities description

    Talent upgrade priority

When prioritizing Chiori’s talents, her Elemental Skill should be your main focus whether she’s on the field or off it, as her Tomoto contributes the majority of her damage either way. Next in line should be her Elemental Burst, followed by her Normal Attack. In most cases, you don’t even need to level up her Normal Attack at all.

Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst > Normal Attack

    Chiori
    Image via HoYoverse

    Normal Attack: Weaving Blade

    Normal Attack

Performs up to 4 rapid strikes.

    Charged Attack

Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

    Plunging Attack

Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

    Elemental Skill: Fluttering Hasode

Dashes nimbly forward with silken steps. Once this dash ends, Chiori will summon the automaton doll “Tamoto” beside her and sweep her blade upward, dealing AoE Geo DMG to nearby opponents based on her ATK and DEF. Holding the Skill will cause it to behave differently.

    Hold Skill

Enter Aiming Mode to adjust the dash direction.

    Tamoto

Will slash at nearby opponents at intervals, dealing AoE Geo DMG based on Chiori’s ATK and DEF. While active, if there are nearby Geo Construct(s) or Geo Construct(s) are created nearby, an additional Tamoto will be summoned next to your active character. Only 1 additional Tamoto can be summoned in this manner, and its duration is independently counted.

    Elemental Burst: Hiyoku: Twin Blades

Twin blades leave their sheaths as Chiori slices with the clean cuts of a master tailor, dealing AoE Geo DMG based on her ATK and DEF.

    Ascension 1 Passive: Tailor-Made

Gain different effects depending on the next action you take within a short duration after using Fluttering Hasode‘s upward sweep. If you Press the Elemental Skill, you will trigger the Tapestry effect. If you your Normal Attack, the Tailoring effect will be triggered instead.

    Tapestry

The skill switches to the next character in your roster. Grants all your party members “Seize the Moment”: When your active party member’s Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, and Plunging Attacks hit a nearby opponent, “Tamoto” will execute a coordinated attack, dealing 100% of Fluttering Hasode’s upward sweep DMG as AoE Geo DMG at the opponent’s location. DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG.

“Seize the Moment” lasts 8s, and 1 of “Tamoto”‘s coordinated attack can be unleashed every 2s. 2 such coordinated attacks can occur per “Seize the Moment” effect duration.

    Tailoring

Chiori gains Geo infusion for 5s. When on the field, if Chiori does not either Press her Elemental Skill or use a Normal Attack within a short time after using Fluttering Hasode’s upward sweep, the Tailoring effect will be triggered by default.

Ascension 4 Passive: The Finishing Touch

When a nearby party member creates a Geo Construct, Chiori will gain a 20% Geo DMG Bonus for 20s.

Utility Passive: Brocaded Collar’s Beauteous Silhouette

When any party member is wearing an outfit apart from their default outfit or is wearing a wind glider other than the Wings of First Flight, your party members will obtain the Swift Stride effect: Movement SPD is increased by 10%. This effect does not take effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, and the Spiral Abyss. Swift Stride does not stack.

Genshin Impact Chiori Guide: Abilities explained

    Normal Attack: Weaving Blade

Chiori’s basic attacks are a four-hit combo that costs 20 stamina for a Charged attack. By default, they deal Physical Damage, but her skill allows them to be infused with Geo element. Without her C6, her basic attacks only get stronger based on her attack stats. However, her Skill and Burst damage scale with both her Defense and Attack stats, making her a character with dual-scaling capabilities.

    Elemental Skill: Fluttering Hasode

When you use Chiori’s Skill, she dashes forward, dealing Geo damage in an upward sweep. Tapping her Skill makes her dash instantly towards the nearest enemy while holding her Skill lets you manually choose the dash direction. This also summons the Tomoto doll, a geo construct that sticks around and deals periodic Geo damage every 3.6 seconds for 17 seconds, totalling 5 hits during its duration.

    Genshin Impact Chiori Guide
    Image via HoYoverse

If another teammate has a Geo construct on the field before or after Chiori summons her first Tomoto doll, she’ll summon a second one with the same duration and damage, effectively doubling her Tomoto damage output. This means you’ll need specific teammates or her first constellation to activate both dolls, though some teams might only be able to activate one.

One advantage of her dolls is their durability; they’re not easily destroyed, especially by certain heavy attacks from boss fights

    Elemental Burst: Hiyoku: Twin Blades

Chiori’s Burst unleashes Geo damage in an AoE, and it’s quite energy-efficient, costing only 50 energy with a short cooldown of 13.5 seconds. It packs a decent punch in terms of damage.

In certain rotations and team setups where you’re trying to minimize Chiori’s time on the battlefield, it’s ideal to use her Burst before switching to another teammate after casting her Skill. This sequence triggers her Geo-infusion effect automatically

    Ascension 1 Passive: Tailor-Made

Unlocking Chiori’s Ascension 1 talent brings additional effects to her skill dash based on your follow-up actions. Tapping the skill again after dashing lets you switch to the next character in your lineup. Your party on the field then benefits from the ‘Seize the Moment’ effect for 8 seconds. During this time, when the active character performs a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack, Chiori deals coordinated geo-skill damage. However, this effect can only trigger once every 2 seconds and is limited to twice during its duration.

Alternatively, if Chiori uses a Normal Attack after her skill dash, she triggers the ‘Tailoring’ effect, granting her sword attacks geo infusion for 5 seconds. This allows for a brief period of on-field DPS playstyle, but it’s best to switch her out once the infusion ends to maximize your other character’s time and abilities on the field.

If you don’t press either her Skill or Normal Attack buttons after a Skill dash, she’ll automatically trigger the Geo infusion effect after a while. However, this infusion can be overridden if other teammates with infusion abilities are present. Essentially, if you’re using her mainly as an off-field unit, just tap her skill twice. But if you want her to stay on the field and deal Geo attacks, use her Skill followed by a Normal Attack combo.

Ascension 4 Passive: The Finishing Touch

With her Ascension 4 Passive, Chiori gains a 20% Geo damage bonus whenever a different party member creates a geo construct. However, she can’t trigger this passive for herself by creating a Tomoto.

Utility Passive: Brocaded Collar’s Beauteous Silhouette

Chiori’s exploration Passive is fairly unique as she can increase her party’s movement speed as long as a team-mate has improved their fashion by wearing an outfit other than their default outfit.

    Genshin Impact Chiori Guide: Playstyle

Chiori’s playstyle is fairly simple as she works best as an off-field damage dealer. Her rotation is fairly simple.

    Genshin Impact Version 4.5 Chiori
    Image via HoYoverse
    • Cast Chiori’s Elemental Burst when it is ready
    • Then cast her Elemental Skill afterwards. Hold her Skill button to aim and once released press her Skill again to switch to the other party member.

    Genshin Impact Chiori Guide: Materials

As a Geo character, Chiori uses Prithiva Topaz stones for ascension and they can be obtained from the Geo Hypostasis or any other Geo-related bosses. Her other ascension material, Artificed Spare Clockwork Component – Coppelia can be obtained from the Icewind Suite Boss (Coppelia). The boss materials for her talents can be obtained from the All-Devouring Narwhal weekly boss. Players can check this out for a detailed breakdown of Chiori’s materials.

Genshin Impact Chiori Guide: Best Weapons for Chiori

Chiori’s defense multipliers have a bigger impact so you generally want to prioritize defense stat. The advantage of dual-scaling is the added flexibility as she can benefit from either attack or defense from her artifacts, weapons, teammates, and various external sources. The great thing about Chiori is her weapon flexibility as she has a range of F2P 4* Weapons players can use and not be pressurized to get her signature weapon.

    5* weapons

    Weapon NameWeapon Stats
    Uraku MisugiriBase ATK: 542
    CRIT DMG: 88.2%

Reason: Signature Weapon that caters specifically to Chiori’s kit and play-style. However, it is not worth it as there are better F2P-friendly alternatives.
    Primordial Jade CutterBase ATK 542
    CRIT Rate 44.1%
    Mistsplitter ReforgedBase ATK 674
    CRIT DMG 44.1%

    4* weapons

    Weapon NameWeapon Stats
    Harbinger of DawnBase ATK 454
    DEF 69.0%

Reason: Another good F2P option although the weapon is no longer accessible to many newer players who have not participated in the limited event of obtaining the weapon. The weapon rivals the Harbinger of Dawn so newer do not have to worry much. The Skill buf has a 1.5-second trigger cooldown so if you want both Tomotos to get buffed, you will need to time the summon so that their attack is 1.5 seconds apart.

Genshin Impact Chiori Guide: Best Artifacts for Chiori

Chiori’s artifacts are fairly straightforward to farm and build. Chiori scales from both ATK and DEF but her DEF multipliers are comparatively higher than her ATK, with added Constellations enhancing the DEF scaling. As such you would only need to prioritize DEF-related scaling and buffs. You would want a DEF Sands, a Geo DMG Goblet, and lastly a Crit Circlet. Sub-stats you should look for Crit then DEF and lastly ATK, with ER being a bonus, but not needed.

    SandsGobletCirclet
    DEF% (ATK% if better sub-stats)GEO DMG BONUSCRIT DMG/CRIT RATE

As for her ER target, it can vary from low to almost nothing. This is due to her Elemental Burst being a low Energy Cost so you’ll get it back fairly quickly depending on your team party and energy sources. With saying that, it is also perfectly okay to trigger your Burst every other rotation. So generally you should aim for 100%-130% ER with added Geo party members.

    4-Pieces Bonus
Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 25%. Additionally, when not on the field, Elemental Skill DMG will be further increased by 25%. This effect will be cleared 2s after taking the field.

    Reason:
This set is compatible with more of an off-field Chiori build but has a lower potential for an on-field Chiori playstyle. The set grants a fairly big amount of Elemental Skill DMG bonus and farming the set is very efficient since the Domain has another great set used for a fairly amount of new characters.

Genshin Impact Chiori Guide: Best Team Compositions for Chiori

Mono Geo – Arataki Itto Focused

One of Chiori’s best team comps is one involving a mono geo team with Itto involved being the Geo DPS unit. In this team, Chiori acts as an off-field damage dealer who can enable her Burst in every rotation. Firstly you would use Gorou and Zhongli to activate the buffs and Shields. Then swap to Chiori to use her Tomoto dolls. Finally, switches to Itto to deal raw Geo damage with his Burst. Chiori in this team is purely a sub-dps with her off-field damage.

    Mono Geo – Noelle Focused

This team works just like Itto’s mono-geo team. You can also use Furina instead of Zhongli if you require a buffer in the team as Noelle can also provide a Shield just like Zhongli does. Simply use Gorou to activate his Support buffs then swap to Chiori for her summons. Lastly, Noelle will take up the field and deal Geo damage.

    Double Geo

Another team that works for Chiori is a double geo team. This team will have Chiori paired up with another Geo unit preferably someone like Navia or Geo Traveler for the Geo constructs. In this team Chiori can play as a more offensive play-style by Navia is still the main Geo DPS in the party. Bennett and Xiangling/Furina will be providing the ATK buffs, healing buffs, off-field damage etc. Bennett/Xiangling/Furina can be replaced with other viable units in the party as long as there is another Geo unit that works with Chiori.

Chiori is pretty good at C0. C1 is a great quality-of-life boost but not necessarily needed. C6 unlocks her true potential as a DPS. Players can check the following article out for a detailed breakdown of Chiori’s constellations.

Genshin Impact has currently released about 80 playable characters as of the Version 4.5 Update. As we are almost in the middle of Fontaine Version Updates, which has started from Version 4.0, it is time to assess the general rankings of all characters and what category they fall in the current Tier list. This tier list will look into which characters are the most viable and the strongest in the latest 4.5 Update of Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 4.5 Tier List: Present condition of the game

Genshin Impact characters have an assortment of varying kits and as such they are categorized in 3 ways, Main DPS, Sub DPS, and Support. Some fill in the role in more than one way while other playable characters have their whole kit revolved solely around only one role. When we initiate a well-put-out Tier List to sort out the current META of the system, we take many of the End-game content into account. For example, the Spiral Abyss plays a big part in the end-game content for many veteran players. As such, here is the current condition of the meta up to Version 4.5 in the game.

With the introduction of the brand new nation, Fontaine, there will no doubt be an assortment of different gaming mechanics introduced in Version 4.0 onwards. With the introduction of Dendro in the Sumeru region patches, Fontaine also has their gimmick in mind as well. Many of the Fontaine playable characters that have been released now have HP-increasing and draining mechanics tied to their kits.

The general idea is that they will boost their damage and or the damage of other characters in the party when they lose HP. Inversely, they can also self-heal themselves and gain HP back, similar to Hu Tao. Additionally, many of the playable characters are HP-scaling units and hence building them will prove to be quite easy for F2P players.

There is also a game mechanic that has been introduced which is the Ousia/Pneuma gimmick. Fontaine puzzles are filled with this mechanic. This mechanic is exclusive to Fontaine playable characters, where each character will either be Ousia aligned or Pneuma aligned (except Furina who is both Ousia-Pneuma aligned). As a result, the mechanic will inadvertently be useful especially when players fight Fontaine bosses, making the fights much easier and quicker to finish.

Other than that, there have been many popularized team comps as of now, mainly with the teams that are non-reactionary. Team comps that involve Lyney and Neuvillette are usually mono-elements. Other popular team comps have now popularized Baizhu and his usage mainly in the Spiral Abyss. Lastly, the long-awaited Hydro Archon Furina certainly became a game changer as expected and has now opened doors to explore many new team comps with her in it.

    Best Characters

    • Neuvillette: Neuvillette quickly shot up to be a great Hydro DPS unit, and now standing tall to be the current best Hydro DPS in the game. To briefly summarize Neuvillette’s kit and play style, he is a Charged Attack on-field DPS character who specializes in dishing out Hydro damage with his Charged Attacks. With the release of Fontaine characters, most of them including Neuvillette depend on their HP scaling mechanics which lets them be easy to build in the long run (since Neuvillette only requires stats that provide HP, Crit, and gauge the requirements of his ER). His teams are versatile, with Tazer comp being the most used. With Furina in the party, his damage enhanced significantly. Suffice it to say the best Hydro DPS crown won’t be falling off of Neuvillette anytime soon.

    • Lyney: Lyney surprised many with his release back in Version 4.0 as everyone expected him to have a power-scale level comparable to Yoimiya. Although he did not outrank Hu Tao, Lyney’s damage is still quite comparable with her and in competition for the best Pyro DPS title. Lyney’s scaling is purely attack-based and his kit is tailored to only dishing out raw Pyro damage. As such his teams are no doubt mono-pyro related. Although he can also be matched with Vaporize. Lyney can deal both single target and AoE with his charged shots and has elevated previous characters like Dehya to be quite sustainable in the new patches.

    • Furina: The most noteworthy character for now is undeniably Furina, the Hydro Archon herself. No doubt her kit and what she brings to the table has completely shifted the META just like her previous Archon buddies Nahida and Raiden Shogun. To summarize Furina’s kit and why she is such an amazing Sub-DPS/Support unit, she dishes out high amounts of Hydro damage with her 3 buddies off-field, as well as applies good Hydro application to the enemies. Most notable is her damage buff to all her party members when they take the field. She enhances their damage in exchange for depleting their HP. Furina also scales off purely from HP and is the only character who is Ousia/Pneuma. Furina has opened up many team comps with her in the roster acting as a damage booster. Overall, Furina is a highly recommended character to have in your party as she will be a great asset to your roster overall in the long run.

    • Baizhu: A character that is severely underrated as a unit and overshadowed by many in the community, Baizhu is a great unit to have in your party especially with new characters being playable in the coming patches, with his viability and usage shooting up slowly. With the release of Furina, Bazihu has opened up many team comps with her included in the party.

    Final Thoughts

The new characters of Navia, Xianyun have made major leaps in the Tier List to bring itself in the S-Tier of the current meta, whereas, it is too early to place Chiori anywhere higher in its Tier List.
