Which Character to Choose in Genshin Impact ‘Stand By Me’ Event?
All of the characters are very good, but it depends on you! But, you’ll have to remember you can’t change your character during the event.
We’ll be categorizing characters based on two categories: DPS or SUPPORT.
Support
1. Xiangling
He is a Pyro polearm user, She is the Head Chef at the Wanmin Restaurant and runs it alongside her father Chef Mao. She’s a fast-paced attacker with her attacks as specified.
Xiangling’s Skills
- Normal Attack: Performs up to five consecutive spear strikes.
- Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.
- Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
- Her elemental skill summons a Bear that Breathes fire every 1.5 seconds X 4 times, each attack generates 1 Elemental particle which helps in Generating her Elemental Burst.
- Her Elemental Burst is a Pyronado which sends her polearm engulfed in the fire around her dealing Pyro damage to all enemies in its way.
Xiangling’s Passives
- Crossfire: Increases the flame range of Guoba by 20%.
- Beware, It’s Super Hot!: When Guoba Attack’s effects end, Guoba leaves a chili pepper on the spot where it disappeared. Picking up a chili pepper increases ATK by 10% for 10s.
- Chef of Cuisine: When Perfect Cooking is achieved on an ATK-boosting dish, Xiangling has a 12% chance to receive double the product.
Xiangling should work fine at C0, but if you already have some constellation for her, then her C4 will help a lot as it increases her Elemental Burst Duration by 40%. This is huge!
2. Xingqui
He is a Hydro Sword user, The second son of the Feiyun Commerce Guild, Xingqui has had a reputation for being studious and polite ever since he was a young child. But there is another side to the mild-mannered Xingqiu everyone knows. A daring, adventurous, and much more mischievous side. He is one of the best 4 * in the game, if you have him find yourself lucky. He can fit into any team & composition.
Xingqui’s Skills
- Normal Attack: Perform up to 5 rapid strikes.
- Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.
- Plunging Attack Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
- His Elemental skill allows him to performs twin strikes with his sword, dealing with Hydro DMG. At the same time, his ability creates the maximum number of Rain Swords, which will orbit your active character.
- His Elemental Burst is what Everyone uses him for, it’s so helpful in creating elemental reactions which is an important part of combat and lets you deal 1.5x to 2x damage depending on the type of Reaction, he goes very well with Vaporize and Melt team comps for increased damage & He is also good with Freeze & Electro charged Teams. His Elemental Burst is known as Guhua Sword Raincutter.
- Rainbow Bladework: Your active character’s normal attacks will trigger consecutive sword rain attacks, dealing with Hydro DMG. Rain Swords will remain at the maximum number throughout the ability’s duration. These effects carry over to other characters.
Xingqui’s Passives
- Hydropathic: When a Rain Sword is shattered or when its duration expires, it regenerates the current character’s HP based on 6% of Xingqiu’s Max HP.
- Blades Amidst Raindrops: Xingqiu gains a 20% Hydro DMG Bonus.
- Flash of Genius: When Xingqiu crafts Character Talent Materials, he has a 25% chance to refund one count of one material out of all the crafting materials used.
Xingqui provides excellent support at C0 but his C1, C2, C4 & C6 help him a lot by increasing his overall damage and expanding his overall support capabilities.
DPS
3. Xinyan
She is a Pyro claymore user, who does DPS as well as support, Let’s go over her quickly.
Xinyan‘s Skills
- Normal Attack: Performs up to 4 consecutive strikes.
- Charged Attack: Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous spinning attacks against all nearby opponents.
At end of the sequence, perform a more powerful slash. - Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
- Elemental Skill – Sweeping Fervor: Xinyan brandishes her instrument, dealing Pyro DMG on nearby opponents, forming a shield made out of her audience’s passion. The shield’s DMG Absorption scales based on Xinyan’s DEF and the number of opponents hit.
- Elemental Burst – Riff Revolution: Strumming rapidly, Xinyan launches nearby opponents and deals Physical DMG to them, hyping up the crowd. The sheer intensity of the atmosphere will cause explosions that deal Pyro DMG to nearby opponents.
- Hitting 0-1 opponent grants Shield Level 1: Ad Lib.
- On Hitting 2 opponents grants Shield Level 2: Lead-In.
- Hitting 3 or more opponents grants Shield Level 3: Rave, which will also deal with intermittent Pyro DMG to nearby opponents.
Special properties of the shield:
- When unleashed, it infuses Xinyan with Pyro.
- It has 250% DMG Absorption effectiveness against Pyro DMG.
- Generate 4 elemental particles when they hit at least 1 target.
Xinyan’s Passives
- “The Show Goes On, Even Without an Audience…”, Decreases the number of opponents. Sweeping Fervor must hit to trigger each level of shielding.
- Shield Level 2: Lead-In requirement reduced to 1 opponent hit.
- Shield Level 3: Rave requirement reduced to 2 opponents hit or more.
- “…Now That’s Rock ‘N’ Roll!” : Characters shielded by Sweeping Fervor deal 15% increased Physical DMG.
- A Rad Recipe: When Perfect Cooking is achieved on a DEF-boosting dish, Xinyan has a 12% chance to obtain double the product.
Xinyan is really constellation-focused. Her being C2 makes her a True DPS and bring C6, makes her a character everyone would want! Go for her only if you have her constellations:
4. Chongyun
He is a Cryo Claymore user, he goes in with very few team comps, and his Elemental skill mostly De-buffs his own team, like Bennetts C6. So, I would not recommend you to go for him. If you want an Ice boy, then it’s your choice, at end of the day.
5. Beidou
She is an Electro Claymore user, get her only if you have her constellations or you want a Waifu, not recommending when Xinyan is on the list.
6. Ningguang
She is the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing. She holds a position of wealth beyond many others in Teyvat. Ningguang’s position and abilities have allowed her to build her greatest achievement, the floating Jade Chamber that watches over all of Liyue. Ninnguang is the Main DPS, Catalyst Geo User. She was very powerful before the 1.3 Patch but after all the buffs received by geo element with the new 1.3 Patch, she hits like a truck with a proper build. She is an S-tier DPS who is very good at C0 and Amazing at C6.
Ningguang‘s Skills
- Normal Attack: Shoots gems that deal Geo DMG. Upon hit, this grants Ningguang 1 Star Jade.
- Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of stamina to fire off a giant gem that deals Geo DMG. If Ningguang has any Star Jades, unleashing a Charged Attack will cause the Star Jades to be fired at the enemy as well, dealing additional DMG.
- Plunging Attack: Gathering the might of Geo, Ningguang plunges toward the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in her path. Deals AoE Geo DMG upon impact with the ground.
- Elemental skill: Ningguang creates a Jade Screen out of gold, obsidian, and her great opulence, dealing AoE Geo DMG. Advantages of the Jade Screen:
- Jade Screen blocks opponents’ projectiles.
- Endurance scales based on Ningguang’s Max HP.
- Jade Screen is considered a Geo Construct and can be used to block certain attacks, but cannot be climbed. Only one Jade Screen may exist at a time.
- Generates 3 elemental particles when it hits at least 1 target.
- If Starshatter is cast when a Jade Screen is nearby, the Jade Screen will fire additional gem projectiles at the same time
- Elemental Burst – Gathering a great number of gems, Ningguang scatters them all at once, sending homing projectiles at her opponents that deal massive Geo DMG.
Ningguang’s Passives
- Backup Plan: When Ningguang owns Star Jades, her charged Attack does not consume Stamina.
- Strategic Reserve: A character that passes through the Jade Screen will gain a 12% Geo DMG Bonus for 10s.
- Trove of Marvelous Treasure: Displays the location of nearby ore veins (Iron Ore, White Iron Ore, Crystal Ore, Magical Crystal Ore, and Starsilver) on the mini-map.
She’s very easy to build and she does crazy damage! It would be completely up to you on which character to choose from the event but We would really suggest going after a specific character’s specific constellations or if you want an excellent DPS and Support, then you should really go for Ningguang.
