A new season in Clash of Clans has arrived, bringing along a series of monthly events for players to engage with. Challenges play a crucial role in these events, adding an extra layer of excitement to the gaming experience. As the Clash of Clans season kicks off, we have some football fun that features Erling Haaland and the first challenge of the bunch being called Payback Time. To ensure that players conquer enemy bases without problems, I have created a complete guide on effective approaches for tackling and getting a three-star attack.
Introducing the Payback Time Challenge in Clash of Clans
The Payback Time Challenge is a new system of challenges designed as part of the Erling Haaland season, where you will encounter plenty of challenging attacks to counter. You need to collect a total of 35 Stars that will go through different rewarding tiers.
We will be having a Town Hall 12 to tackle, which is a decent tricky base. The rewarding pattern is different from what he had, where achieving a three-star attack gets a training potion.
How to beat the Payback Time Challenge in Clash of Clans
Now, coming to the strategies to excel in the Payback Time challenge, focus on attacking Erling Haaland’s CoC base, which is a Town Hall 12 that leans towards dragon-based defenses. Begin the attack by placing your Grand Warden strategically near the Town Hall, ensuring he provides support to your initial wave of troops.
Follow this up by deploying two balloons on the top right Cannon near the Dark Elixir collector and positioning your Archer Queen on the top side cannon, just a few tiles on the left. These placements are crucial to drawing out defenses and creating openings in the base. Next up, you need to use your heroes effectively.
Utilize the Erling Haaland King skin, placing it adjacent to the balloons to penetrate deeper into the base. Once your King is engaged, release a Lava Hound from the bottom to distract defenses, while dragons swarm from the flanks. Ensure your Warden is positioned centrally to provide support to the main attack force, bolstering their offensive capabilities.
Later on, you need to deploy the Stone Slammer and Balloons to further pressure the defenses. Deploy rage spells strategically to amplify the effectiveness of your aerial units, especially when targeting high-value structures like the multi-target Inferno. Freeze spells should be properly used to immobilize threatening defenses, protecting your troops as they are pushing further up.
Rest, let the Dragons do their work, and use the remaining abilities whenever needed. Well, that’s it, it will be enough to get you a three-star.
