Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021, one of the biggest Indian esports events with a massive prize pool of over 1 crore INR, just ended. Skylightz Gaming got the crown of the champions of BGIS 2021, which was the first official tournament after the comeback of the game of Battlegrounds Mobile India.
The previous champion of this tournament was Team TSM, who became the runner-up. Team Skylightz won the first official tournament of BGMI 2021 finals with a big impact and got the big prize money of 50 lakh INR, while the team of TSM came second followed by Team Esports XO, who came 3rd. As the champion of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2021, Skylightz Gaming got a slot in the upcoming PUBG Mobile Global Championship, which is starting from 21st January.
How Skylightz Gaming fared at Battlegrounds Mobile India Series BGIS 2021 Finals
BGIS 2021 was an open-to-all tournament. The in-game qualifiers took place in December, where many teams from all over India participated in the hope of becoming the next big BGMI team in India. A total of 16 teams was selected from the in-game qualifiers, who participated in the finals. The finals took place on the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th of January, 2022. It was an online event due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. A total of 24 games were played in these two days.

Skylightz Gaming ended up the champions of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021 by a narrow gap of 3 points, as they finished with 273 points. Team TSM came 2nd with 270 points, just beating the 3rd-placed Team XO by 16 points. There was also a big gap of 14 points between the 3rd and 4th-placed teams.
Big teams like Enigma Gaming and Team XSpark failed to perform according to their standards, as they were ranked at 10 and 12 respectively. Rising teams like Team XO and 7sea esports played well and finished in the upper half of the points table.

Despite finishing as the champions of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021 Finals, the prize pool for the individual and smaller team awards was shared by both the teams of GodLike Esports and Skylightz Gaming.

Neyo from team GodLike Esports topped the individual finisher leaderboard. The full list is yet to come from the officials.
Most Valuable Player (MVP)
Neyo from team GodLike bagged the title of the MVP in the grand finals of BGIS 2021, winning an amount of INR 1,00,000.
Rampage Freak
Saumraj from team of Skylightz gaming has dealt the most damage and received the ‘Rampage freak’ title. He won 50,000 INR as prize money.
Lone ranger
As one can guess from the name, the player with most survival time won the ‘Lone Ranger’ award, which in this case was again Saumraj from team Skylightz gaming. He won 50,000 INR as the prize money.
Most Team Finishes
The squad with a maximum number of kills was GodLike Esports as expected. They bagged a total of 129 finishes in the 24 match-tournament finals. The prize money for this award was 50,000 INR.
The Redeemer
This award was given to the player with the maximum number of revives in the final. Zgod from the team of GodLike won this award and bagged 50,000 INR.
