Battlegrounds Mobile India Esports officials have revealed the qualification process, format, and prize pool for the new tournaments introduced in the Battlegrounds Mobile India esports ecosystem. The tournaments are Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC) and Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) for the year 2022. In this article, we will discuss the event details disclosed as of now.
Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC) 2022: Format
Qualification process
Round 1 of BMOC will be open for all amateur players and underdogs across the country, who can put in their names for registration. The players will have to be at least level 25 in the game and play in the Platinum tier or above. The minimum age will be 16+. Each team will be able to register 6 players with 4 being the minimum.
512 teams will be selected and put into 32 groups for further narrowing down of teams. The teams with the least points will be eliminated until there are only 32 teams left. Those 32 teams will be put together with 32 invited pro teams and the top 24 teams will progress to the BMPS.
Schedule
The in-game qualifiers will be held from the 4th of April, 2022 to the 10th of April, 2022.
Prize Pool
The prize pool of the tournament has not been yet announced.
Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) 2022: Format
The top 24 teams from the BMOC will be invited to play in the BMPS, which will be the highest tier of BGMI Esports in the country. 24 teams will be divided into 3 groups and will play in a round-robin format.
Thereafter, the top 16 teams will qualify into the Grand Finals to fight for a spot at the annual PMGC, which is the highest stage of esports in PUBG Mobile, Game For Peace, and BGMI. This tournament will also have one of the largest prize pools in the world.
Schedule
It will start on the 19th of May, 2022, and will end on the 12th of June, 2022. The Grand Finals will have 4 days to itself and 24 matches in total.
Prize Pool
The prize pool of BMPS has been confirmed to be 2,00,000 INR. It will be divided among the teams based on their final ranks.

After the hiatus of 9 months during which the game was banned in the country, the esports scene fell behind much of the world and kept going at the same pace. Thus, the officials at the BGMI esports panel are determined to bring India’s BGMI ecosystem up to the mark of global competitiveness.
