Free Fire has concluded its main professional esports event in Malaysia. Season 8 of the Free Fire Master League has ended with Thorrad being the crowned champion. With a total of 117 points by their name, the champion team was 24 points ahead of its closest competitor, RRQ Kazu. POCO Star became the third-placed team in the event.
Three teams from the top of the point table have made their way to the Free Fire World Series 2023. They will be representing their country in the most prestigious event of Free Fire esports coming ahead. The event started on the 1st of September with 18 teams from the country’s esports scene.
The champion team’s run on the Free Fire Master League Season 8
After the league phase, the top 12 teams advanced to the grand final. A total of six matches took place and Thorrad dominated throughout the whole grand finals and took two matches in their pocket. However, the Free Fire Master League Season 8 champion team was consistent for the rest of their games and picked up 55 placement points and 54 kill points.
Thus, the addition of the 8 headstart points along with their collected ones made a sum of 117 points to take the trophy away. RRQ Kazu stopped at number two with 93 points.
The champion team wins the biggest share of the prize pool
Free Fire Master League Season 8 featured a total of Rp 1,200,000,000 (almost $78,000) as the prize pool. Their rankings determined the allocation for each team. However, winning the event has given Thorrad the biggest share, which is Rp 300,000,000 (almost $19,500).
The runner-up RRQ Kazu bagged Rp 150,000,000 (almost $9,500) while the third-placed team took Rp 75,000,000 (almost $5,000). Abaay from RRQ Kazu became the Predator title winner and won an additional Rp 10,000,000 (almost $700). As three teams will go to the FFWS 2023 which is coming to take place soon, fans will be waiting to watch the teams’ best performance on the international stage of Free Fire esports.
