The 2021 Horizon Cup is the crowning tournament of Wild Rift esports for the year. It is the first global event for Wild Rift. One of the major conceptions is that this tournament is not the World Rift World Championship 2021 is wrong. According to the Wild Rift Esports roadmap, this tournament is a pre-event before the final one. The offline tournament is starting from the 13th of November, 2021 running till the 21st.
Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021: Format and schedule
The event will take place in two stages, namely the Group Stage and the Knockout Stage. The first one will begin from November 13th to continue its run till the 17th. The next stage, Knockout, will take place from November 19th and carry on until the date of November 21st, 2021.
This is the first tournament to officially use the Ban-Pick Mode in Wild Rift. 10 teams will be split into 2 groups, fighting in the initial stage. Single round-robin matches will be followed by a BO3 format. The top three teams from each group will head to the next stage. Here, the group winners from the previous round will receive a bye to the Semifinals. Quarterfinals and Semifinals matches will be played in a BO5. The Grand Final will be played in a BO7 format.
Participating teams and prize pool
Wild Rift has been arranging many events across the globe. 10 teams from eight regional qualifiers made their way to the grand event of this year. Considered as two of the toughest regions of Wild Rift, China and SEA have sent two teams where other qualifiers sent one each. The participant teams are as follows.
- Da Kun Gaming: Winners of the Spark Invitational 2021.
- ThunderTalk Gaming: Winners of the 2022 LPL Qualifier.
- KT Rolster: Winners of the Wild Rift Champions Korea 2021.
- SBTC Esports: Winners of the SEA Championship 2021.
- Team Secret: Winners of the SEA Championship 2021.
- Team Queso: Wiiners of the Origin Series Championship 2021. )
- Tribe Gaming NA: Winners of the Summoner Series NA Regional Championship 2021.
- Sengoku Gaming: Winners of the Japan Cup 2021.
- TSM: Winners of the Wild Tour 2021.
- eBRO Gaming: Winners of Lolcito Salvaje Abierto 2021.
On the other hand, the event will feature $500K as the prize pool. The share of each team has not been announced yet.

As a pre-stage event before the Wild Rift World Championship 2021, the Horizon Cup has a vital role to play. Besides teams fighting each other, the tournament will be a message for the rest of the teams to come up with their latest strategy to qualify for the next events of Wild Rift.
