Riot Games has announced the first installment of League of Legends: Wild Rift Origin Series Championship 2021 to be held in September in the city of Stockholm in Sweden. Origin Series is the first official tournament circuit by Riot Games for Europe, Middle East & North Africa, CIS, and Turkey that was announced on May 20th, 2021.
The championship is scheduled to start on the 24th of September, 2021 and will run till the 26th of September, 2021. The biggest competition in Wild Rift history will be held offline in the city of Stockholm in Sweden. The champion team will qualify for the Wild Rift World Championship which will happen later this year.
Wild Rift Origin Series Championship 2021: Format
The tournament will be held in three stages which are namely the group stage, knockout stage, and finals.
Group Stage
It will be held on the 24th of September, 2021. Six teams are divided into two groups who will battle it out in a Best-of-1 (BO1) double round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will make their way to the Knockout Stage.
Knockout Stage
On 25 September, the qualified four teams will fight a cut-throat 4-team single elimination bracket, with best-of-5 (Bo5) to step into the semifinals.
Finals
The two best teams from the semifinals will battle in a best-of-7 (Bo7) format in the final to be the first champion of the Wild Rift: Origin Series. The team will book a ticket to represent the region in the World Championship 2021.
Teams
Each region was divided into three groups for the regional origin series. Six teams from the Origin Series (3 teams from Group A, 2 from Group B, and 1 from Group C) qualified for the championship by playing open-for-all monthly finals from the month of June to August. In the championship, they’ll be fighting into two groups. The teams are as follows.

- Game-Lord
- Unicorns of Love
- Natus Vincere (NAVI)
- CUT Esports
Prize pool
The total prize pool for the Wild Rift Origin Series features a massive €300.000. This is equal to the prize money of the approximate amount of $352,000. The division of the money among the teams are yet to be announced.
