Free Lives and Devolver Digital‘s much-anticipated Terra Nil ecological strategy game will finally release on PC and Netflix Games on March 28.
In this contemplative, calming take on the city-building genre, players use cutting-edge eco-tech to convert a lifeless and barren land into a thriving ecosystem. Plant trees, restore wildlife, purify the soil, clean the oceans, and recycle everything before leaving no trace of your presence.

Take on a variety of replayable procedurally generated biomes over 6–8 blissful hours. This includes volcanic glaciers, deserted cities, and tropical islands, each with its difficult climate, geology, flora, and fauna. Once you’ve finished all 4 regions, you can push yourself even further by unlocking alternate levels. Create jungles, swamps, rivers, and other natural features. Then observe as the lifeless, cracked surface of the world suddenly bursts with color and life.
“From the very beginning of development we’ve wanted Terra Nil to be able to have a real-world impact,” says Sam Alfred, the game’s co-creator and lead designer. He added, “After much searching, we found the perfect partner to make this happen in the Endangered Wildlife Trust. Free Lives will be donating a portion of the profits of each sale of Terra Nil on Steam to the Endangered Wildlife Trust to help them in their efforts to preserve and restore ecosystems in the real world.”
