The February 2024 season in Clash of Clans, which is themed after the Lunar New Year Event 2024 has arrived, and thus as part of the monthly events, we have a new challenge as well. As Clash of Clans players are eager to take on this fresh challenge, I have come up with some effective strategies to 3-star this Lunar New Year Challenge, so let us hit the road!
Introducing the Lunar New Year Challenge in Clash of Clans
The Lunar New Year Challenge is a showcase of the new February season season with the new skins featuring the Heroes. The newly added Town Hall 16 with the December 2023 update makes an appearance to what we see as a simple yet tricky base, but with all the four heroes available and an air attack strategy this becomes easy.
Once more, the reward structure remains consistent with previous challenges, with the team being on the lazier side of the distribution. Along with the extra resources that are provided, players can gain 400 XP, 25 Gems, and 1x Research Potion.
How to beat the Lunar New Year Challenge in Clash of Clans
Well, I tried to devise plenty of strategies, but I believe the one I used was the best. Starting things off, you know this is an air strategy, so make sure your Grand Warden is set to air mode. This will prove crucial in dealing with the dragons later in the attack. Start by deploying all seven Bat Spells next to the Warden statue at the top of the base. This will clear the area where there are three monoliths.
Shift your focus to the left side of the base, where you need to deploy three balloons to take down the mortar at the place, which is important for your Siege Machine to work. Once it is destroyed, deploy the Flame Flinger and let it do its thing. I have missed out on this simple strategy a couple of times, so do remember to do this.
Next up, I wanted to create an opening for the dragons from the right, but the two air defenses were a tricky option. This is where Electro Dragons chip in. But before that, clear out non-defensive buildings else the chain damage won’t come in handy. Deploy a minion at the top of the army camp, ensuring it targets any locking air defense.
On its left, place a dragon on the Spell Factory and utilize a final minion if available. The next step is to trigger out the hidden defenses. Deploy one barbarian close to the dark elixir storage. If Teslas don’t pop, use a second one. Deploy a rage and an Electro Dragon to the right of the cannon which will help you chain both air defenses.
The next step is to bring your heroes into the picture. Start from the bottom side of the base, with an Ice Golem, followed by your Barbarian King, Archer Queen, Royal Champion, and Valkyrie, and to lure out the defending troops, a barbarian near the Dark Elixir Storage should be deployed. Freeze the Golden Dragon and skeletons once they engage.
You can use abilities as needed, it worked for me. Utilize freeze spells on two multi-Archer Towers. Split invisibility spells based on Hero support needs, prioritizing the Royal Champion. Next is your air attack. Deploy all eight dragons along the right side, accompanied by the Warden. Hold the Warden’s ability until the troops get into the center, to protect them from the traps and poison tower.
That is it, the rest of the base will be cleared out, and you get your three stars! On final thoughts, you need not use the strategy I used here. It worked for me, so I’m sharing this with you. If you have different strategies to approach this base, good for you!
