PopCap Games, a subsidiary of Electronic Arts have pulled off Plants vs Zombies 3 from its soft launch phase months after testing the Garden warfare series. After being made evident through a blog post, the Seattle-based game studio has taken down the tower and strategy defense title in order to incorporate more feedback from players and relaunch the game with better, and more improved features.
The third phase in the game’s mainline series was soft-launched for both iOS and Android in late February 2020, with various fan-favorite plants and zombies characters making an expected comeback to the game.
Plants vs Zombies 3 is being remade and reimagined
As usual, players were tasked with protecting their town in a classic, yet lane-based defense battle, at the same time facing new zombie bosses. The game was soft-launched in selected countries months ago, some of which are Ireland, Romania, Indonesia, and of course, the Philippines. But the gameplay would now be put on hold from November 18. Although the developers made it clear that Plants vs Zombies 3 is not canceled.
According to PopCap Games executive producer Bruce MacLean,
He further stated that PopCap Seattle is not shutting down and the studio team will continue to support and improve Plants vs Zombies 2 with the latest contents as players await Plants vs Zombies 3. Also through a Q&A post, EA clarified that need to end the current soft launch and move into a revamped and reimagined version of the game in the future.
The Plants vs Zombies game series remain one of the most fun strategies on the mobile platform, and ever since the announcement of Plant vs Zombies 3, players have been very eager to get their hands on the upcoming title. The latest installment will return to our respective App store in late November, hopefully, a global release from PopCap games.
