India is the only country that serves as a region in the Brawl Stars esports. And, it has two slots for the LCQ before the main event takes place. Thus, the country has much potential, and it could be one of the primary markets of the game. Besides, the evolution of Brawl Stars esports in India is also realized by Supercell and the professional scene is blooming at a rapid speed. Recently, GamingonPhone had the opportunity to talk with one of the best Indian Brawl Stars teams, Revenant Esports, and its player Sergent Clash. Team Captain Ashmit “Sergeant Clash” Singh shared valuable thoughts about the events that lie ahead, the LCQ. Also, the player shared his thoughts on the team and its goal in the coming days.
Ahead of the Brawl Stars World Finals in November 2023, the participant teams are now busy with setting up their strategy, making coordinated plans, increasing synergy, etc. But before the World Finals take place, the event is still lacking four participants from the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). Scheduled to start on the 7th of October, the LCQ will host 12 teams. The top 4 teams will be selected for the upcoming global finals.
Revenant Esports will go for the World Cup, not just the LCQ: Sergeant Clash
Revenant Esports was the first team to qualify for the LCQ from India. Being a massive country with and strong appearance in mobile esports titles, India is ready to set the fire. Supercell would not disagree with the fact that the Indian Brawl Stars scene offers significance to the game. Not only that, but the promising market is also realized by Supercell and providing India with two extra tickets a reflection of taking the Indian Brawl Stars scene a bit farther.
“The Brawl Stars team has continuously been investing in the Indian Brawl Stars esports scene which is evident by the two direct slots we have gotten to the LCQ. India is the only region in Brawl Stars to get LCQ spots being only a country. So I feel that the future is good and Supercell has also realized this“, said Revenant Esports player Sergeant Clash.
Congratulations on qualifying for the LCQ. Now the goal is of course to get a slot in the world finals. Will Revenant be able to do that? What are your plans with the team?
We are well prepared for the LCQ event this time around. We are constantly playing scrims for the event and increasing our efforts gradually. We also plan to identify the strengths of our team and work based on that. So far, things are looking good so we are confident to get a slot in the world finals.
Can you tell us briefly why Shafin left just when the team was about to become the first team to qualify? And, how are you minimizing the communication gap (if there’s any) with the new recruitment Jerome Kuek Jiaen?
We were doing very well with Shafin but we felt the addition of Jerome would help the team drastically. Shafin also had exams so he couldn’t commit full-time either. He is a fantastic player as it is. We do not have a communication gap with him as he was my teammate last year as well. So it kind of feels like we are picking up right where we left off.
Forming the roster this January to qualify for the LCQ, a rollercoaster ride, What do you say?
When we got together as a team, we knew our capabilities and expected to qualify for the LCQ. We have been constantly working hard as well and we knew we were the best. It isn’t a surprise that we qualified with the amount of effort we put in.
Tell us about the experiences from Snapdragon Pro Series Season 1: India Challenge. The first major, sort of, event champion title, how does it feel? Which one’s better? LCQ or being the champion?
The SPS season was our first LAN as we had visa issues in previous events. We never felt more motivated after witnessing the event to become the best. We want to become the best of the best so our only goal is winning worlds, not just the LCQ.
Tell us about Indian Brawl Stars esports. The future of BS in India as an esports, will it be carrying a distinct mark?
The Brawl Stars team has continuously been investing in the Indian Brawl Stars esports scene which is evident by the two direct slots we have gotten to the LCQ. India is the only region in Brawl Stars to get LCQ spots being only a country. So I feel that the future is good and Supercell has also realized this.
The future of BS in India, share your thoughts. Will we see Revenant in other events as well?
We have always been on the top in India and will continue to do so. I am confident that any LAN in India related to Brawl Stars will be won by Revenant Esports and our only goal now is performing at international events.
