PUBG Mobile has finally concluded its esports journey for 2023. The PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2023 concluded with IHC ESPORTS being crowned champion. After a three-day battle in Ülker Sports and Event Hall, Istanbul, Turkey, the champion team collected 142 points, a four-point gap from the runner-up. Stalwart Esports becomes the runner-up with 138 points.
IHC was stronger in gathering elimination points. The team collected 110 elimination points, being the only team to surpass the century bar. A whopping $3 million was featured as the prize pool for the event where IHC took the most. Before the grand final commenced, 48 teams fought in three groups from the 2nd of November 2023 to the 19th. With the top 16 remaining, the grand final was held offline in Turkey.
The PMGC 2023 champion team did not have a smooth run in the event
The event was full of surprises at every turn. The initial day was taken away by the Mongolian powerhouse and one of the top favorites of the event, Stalwart Esports. The team took 2 WWCDs and gathered 62 points and topped the table. Alpha7 Esports was in second place while the PMGC 2023 champion was not even in the top five!
The following day play started, and IHC managed to finish the day in third without touching any WWCD. But the team was consistent and showcased their “would be” danger face. A7 topped the table while the first-day topper STE went down to the fourth position.
The magic happened on the final day as IHC was unstoppable throughout the day. Though the team could only put a WWCD in their bag, the domination was top-notch. And, after the result came out, the team became the crowning champion of PMGC 2023.
The champion team pocketed a whopping amount with IHC Zyol being the MVP
As the event featured a massive prize pool of $3 million, participants were also dipped in money. Being the champion, IHC pocketed the most. IHC Zyol won the MVP and the Gunslinger award.
MELA from FaZe Clan becomes the Grenade Master and ParaJin from D’Xavier becomes the Field Medic. The prize pool was distributed as follows.
