Netmarble Corp., a South Korean game developer, announced that they will launch Solo Leveling: Arise globally in May. This new title is based on a popular digital comic and web novel. It’s an action role-playing game designed for both PCs and mobile devices, marking Netmarble’s first venture into the Solo Leveling universe, which has garnered an impressive 14.3 billion views worldwide.
During the media showcase in Seoul, Netmarble’s CEO, Kwon Young-sik, expressed confidence in the game’s potential to boost sales immediately upon its release in May. He mentioned their goal of returning to profitability in the first half of the year, not just through “Solo Leveling: Arise” but also through other promising projects in development.
In 2023, Netmarble reduced its operating loss by 35.9% to 69.7 billion won ($52.1 million) despite a slight decline in sales to 2.5 trillion won. The company initiated game pre-registration on the same day as announcing the open beta service for Canada and Thailand, starting March 21.
