For a while now, Supercell was reportedly working on an announced mobile game titled Squad Busters and finally, the official announcement has been made. Squad Busters looks much similar to Brawl Stars with multiple game modes and is expected to kick off Closed Beta test on February 6, 2023 in Canada.
Squad Busters will bring characters from all the games
It was a dream for Supercell fans to play with characters from different titles they love and now it looks like it finally happening. Players will be able to get into battles with their favorite characters like PEKKA, Barbarian King, El Primo, Colt, Shelly, Wizard, Bandit, Night Witch, Hog Rider etc.
It is expected that there will be more than 125 characters in the game for the players to choose from. There will also be spells in the game such as Electro Spirit, Heal, etc. Considering the style of the game, it is also expected to have character classes.
Game modes look much similar to Brawl Stars
From the 30 seconds video shared by Supercell, the gameplay looks quite similar to Brawl Stars where players can team up with other players to participate in 3v3 or 5v5 battles.
Like most other Supercell games, Squad Busters will have clans, emotes, ranked mode, skins, etc. The rewards system it is expected to have Chests just like Brawl Stars and Clash Royale. It seems the game brings a similar shooting mechanism as Boom Beach Frontlines where the players need to move the joystick to target the aim and attack.
How to play Squad Busters closed beta test
For now, Supercell has not revealed how or when they’ll pick the participants for the Squad Busters closed beta test. However, they mentioned that the CBT will be exclusive to Android and for the residents of Canada. The closed beta test will run from February 6 to 16 and will help Supercell to verify the gameplay and player progressions. And all the data will be reset after the test is over.
Squad Busters is not new and has been in the development phase for more than two years now. Considering the trademark date filed by Supercell, it is surprising to see this announcement on this game today.
From the trademark filing date, it is evident that Supercell originally started developing it at the same time they started the three new games on the Clash IP. However, in turn of events, we never heard anything about this game, and Clash Quest, one of the three newly announced titles also got discontinued. This also seems to be one of the seven games that Supercell confirmed earlier in February 2022.
